The whole partial ban thing isn't just some random decision made by one single moderator because they felt like it; it’s actually a collective call from the entire moderation team regarding a specific subreddit, triggered directly by how someone was acting on there.
Partials don't actually expire, you know? They’re basically given on an indefinite basis—they just stay there permanently. Now, once six months have passed, you can certainly put in a request to have them removed, but honestly, there’s no guarantee the moderators are going to do you any favors.

It’s just not an option for us right now because we don't have that specific setup installed. It might become a possibility down the road, but for the time being, it's just not on the table.

I'm pretty sure there's some kind of limit in place already, but honestly, it's way too short to be effective. Personally, I'd much rather just report someone for wrecking a thread and let the mods or supermods handle it—it feels like a much faster way to get a reaction.
Honestly, it’s just not technically feasible, but even if we could pull it off, I wouldn’t be in favor of it. We have moderators on this site whose whole job is to keep the quality of the discussion high, so you should definitely reach out to them if you notice a thread starting to go off the rails. Putting a cap on the number of posts could end up cutting us off from plenty of great contributions, and that would be such a shame.

Just so you know, if you want to get that ban lifted, you'll have to take it up with the expatriates moderators—that's their call, not mine. If you're looking to appeal the decision, honestly, your best bet is just to start a thread right here on the main board. It's way easier than me having to slide into the DMs of the moderators to argue your case and then trying to manually pull all your posts into the mix. 🙂
