Spammer in the ban corner! in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Honestly, it doesn't even matter anymore. 🙂
What are the criteria for a permanent ban appeal rejection? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Most threads get nuked because they just don't follow the house rules. It’s usually one of three things: someone’s being outright offensive, they're just looking for a fight, or—my personal favorite—a user isn't actually complaining about their ban, they're just trying to find a loophole to cut their suspension short. That's definitely not what this place is for.

Thanks for flagging that! I've gone ahead and wiped those threads, and the spammer has been sent straight to the ban corner.

I think everyone who needed to weigh in has already made their case, so there really isn't much point in dragging this out any further. rustydrifter10, you can just hang onto that partial credit for now.

Chloe Thompson29 said:So, I was just thinking about this—why on earth did everyone suddenly stop obsessing over Splend around the local coffee shops and trendy spots in downtown Chicago? It feels like just yesterday that having it was practically a status symbol, you know? It used to be everywhere! Now, it’s like it vanished overnight. Does anyone else feel that shift, or am I just living in the past?

Honestly, that’s really just between her and the administration.

wanderingheron52 said:"I was just wondering if you could maybe drop a post without turning it into an aggressive dogpile or a personal attack.

By chance? No, there's nothing accidental about it. 🤣"

And look at this—we all saw the list of everyone in charge here. You've got the mods, the sub-mods, the extra-mods, the super-ultra-mega-mods, the admins, and then just a whole bunch of other random people thrown into the mix for no reason...

Does anyone here actually know how to write a single post—even by accident—where you aren't just blindly covering for your colleagues, no matter how wrong they might be?"

But honestly, that’s just the kind of debate we tolerate over at Zelenskyy's place, and look, as a moderator, I'm not out here defending anything that violates our rules. If someone dropped a post like that on the Green Party board, or Politics, or any of those other sub-forums, they’d get hit with a red card immediately; on some other boards, maybe they wouldn't, but this is one of those places where things are handled differently. In my personal opinion, Modic wrote a post that was just plain stupid and totally unnecessary, but let's be real, there are millions of posts like that on this forum every day. What really bugs me as an admin isn't the content itself, but the way she started coming after the mods personally—that’s where she crossed the line. She just overreacted, plain and simple.
Moderator's unprofessional behavior on Sweet'N Low in Feedback & Suggestions ·
We caught some kind of nasty computer virus at home—yeah, like, an actual digital plague—so I’ve been totally offline dealing with that mess. I won't stay away for long, but just to give you all a quick heads-up, hopefully this makes sense:

Jose Williams said:But the complaint is specifically about the moderator's conduct—the way she constantly jumps down my throat, her obvious hostility toward me, her arrogance, and how she's abusing her position. I made that very clear in my complaint.

In other words, if it isn't about the moderator herself.

But it is. Ever since she stepped into the moderator role, she's been targeting me. Before that, she never bothered me. If you think I'm making this up, feel free to dig up the last time she actually spoke to me before she became a mod. 🤷
Otherwise, it just falls under personal likes and dislikes, and we don't intervene in that.

Can you explain how a moderator's statement on a PDF claiming everyone's posts are "ad hominem" or "nitpicking" can be brushed off as mere personal bias rather than a direct reflection of how a moderator treats a user?

Actually, you could just answer these three questions:
How am I supposed to expect any objectivity from this moderator when she’s already decided all my posts are just nitpicking and ad hominem attacks?

How can I feel comfortable just chatting about a topic on ZK without being harassed, especially after she basically mocked me by saying I can't even put her on ignore?

Am I asking too much by expecting a baseline of decency and professionalism from a moderator? Because in this case, there isn't even a hint of it; Paul Morales3 has shown the exact opposite.

Or, you're welcome to try and prove me wrong with a few screenshots from ZK where moderators openly tell users they'll be ignored or conclude their posts are stupid, trolling, nitpicking, or ad hominem. If you do that, I'll gladly admit it was my mistake for not realizing that rude and unprofessional behavior from moderators is just accepted as standard practice here at ZK, and that this isn't some special case that deserves an apology.

And yeah, this complaint is strictly about Paul Morales3's behavior. I don't have an agenda here, and I'm not complaining about you or velvettrucker52, regardless of how much you guys gossip about me with people like stormyraven14 outside the forum. On the PDF, you've been perfectly fine. I don't think Paul Morales3's behavior is part of some grand conspiracy to get me kicked off ZK, so there's no need to go off on tangents about things that aren't part of the issue. I asked specific questions and I'd like coherent, relevant answers.

I honestly don't think she misused anything at all.

Joshua Jones13 said:Ace, I think you both poked the bear unnecessarily, and maybe there could have been a bit more tact from either side given the circumstances. But since Paul Morales3 is a mod, I get why being targeted by staff might sting a little more than just regular user drama. I'm not a fan of the idea that moderators shouldn't be allowed to do what users do, but I see where you're coming from.

The part I don't quite get—the bit that seems to be bothering you so much—is that post where Paul Morales3 got defensive and said she could put you on ignore while you couldn't do the same to her. So what? 🤷 Honestly, I guess this complaint would carry a bit more weight without that, but fine, clearly the whole thing rubbed you the wrong way.

If you're worried about the mod being biased down the road, we have other moderators who can step in if things ever get messy. Or anyone else, really, if someone ends up being unfair.

I’m totally on board with this point. Honestly, users shouldn't go around expecting mods to act any differently just because of the color of their username, but at the same time, moderators really need to be mindful that they might view certain posts through a different lens when things get heated. A little more tact wouldn't hurt anyone—and I mean that for both sides. It’s all about finding that balance between everyone involved.

I honestly can't get behind that idea at all. Look, we can go back and forth and poke fun at each other all day long, but using moderator tools to target someone on a forum? That just feels cheap. It’s totally unfair to pull those kinds of levers against someone who doesn't even have the power to push back in the same way.

Honestly, Paul Morales3 totally missed the joke, and then she went ahead and dropped this incredibly lame comment that only seems controversial because it was written by a moderator. I really don't think anyone needs to show up at the PŽK over this, especially since we don't start new threads every time two blue-named users get into a scrap—and let’s be real, that happens on ZK every single day. But seriously, her comment was just as bad; she completely failed to catch the punchline!🙂She probably could have skipped that whole bit about geeking out over the modding tools—unless, of course, she was just asking for someone to snatch them right out of her hands and smack her across the face with them! 😳

Look, I’m all for keeping things civil, but when two people on a forum start going at it—which is exactly what happened here—it’s hard to play fair because they just don't have the right tools to settle things properly. It ended up looking pretty messy and, frankly, a bit ugly, but I don't think we need to turn this into some massive, over-the-top drama. That said, I totally get why it rubbed that lady the wrong way; her reaction makes complete sense to me.

But seriously, guys. First off, I need a supermod to weigh in here—I’m definitely not ignoring you! Plus, I had to work through the weekend, so I was totally out of the loop. Just from what I can see at first glance, it doesn't look like the moderator wrote anything that actually violates our ZK guidelines. There aren't any specific, extra-strict rules on how one becomes a mod, but we’ll dive deeper into exactly what happened once we look into the details. 🙂

Pet PDF: Two post submissions and two questions in Feedback & Suggestions ·
bluerider2 said:As soon as the thread went live, I flagged it as redundant, even suggesting it should just be merged into the First Aid - Sick Pet, What Should I Do? thread. But instead, they kept it all on its own. I totally get why the FD moderator might be extra protective over this specific issue—since people tell me it’s such a common headache for Maltese owners—but that doesn't change the fact that the thread is unnecessary. Honestly, it feels like it was only left standalone because of moderator bias.

Wow, that is a really nasty and uncalled-for accusation. That thread stayed up because the moderation team decided it was actually beneficial to have a dedicated space for it, and if you ask me, they made the right call. They didn't mess up at all. Look, we’ve had a separate thread about hip and elbow dysplasia for years—which is a huge deal for any dog over 25 pounds—and I don't remember anyone ever claiming that was "biased" or "discriminatory" against small dogs or saying it needed to be lumped in with First Aid. In my opinion, keeping it separate is the way to go, just like the previous mods thought—and that includes you, regardless of whether you happen to own big dogs or little ones.

bluerider2 said:By the way, I'm curious—what's the status on those reports filed against moderator posts?

You were a moderator for years, so you know better than anyone who handles the reports and how the whole process works. Nothing has changed, and we will definitely let you all know if there's an update.

bluerider2 said:This one seems a bit more serious to me. According to the general terms, it is a forum to prohibit violation of US law. Now, I’m no expert when it comes to ornithology or bird breeding, but I shouldn't have to be since I'm not a moderator. Still, when someone starts a thread titled Paper - how do I get Paper for pets that weren't bought directly from a breeder?, it doesn't exactly scream "legitimate."

You can't really tell just by looking at the question if the author is actually trying to break the law, and honestly, I'm not even sure if there's a legal way to obtain those documents outside of direct breeders. We'll look into it and get back to her.

I honestly don't even know where to start with this one, but I just had to jump in here because my mind is absolutely racing after reading everything. It feels like we’re constantly dancing around these massive, complicated issues, and yet everyone seems to have such a firm grip on what's actually happening! I was sitting here thinking about how much things have shifted lately, and man, it really hits home when you look at the bigger picture. It’s funny, isn't it? You think you have a handle on a situation, and then someone drops a perspective that completely flips the script. I keep coming back to those points made earlier—you know, the ones that really make you stop and stare at your screen for a second. There’s just so much nuance to navigate, especially when you consider how much influence these institutional shifts have on our day-to-day lives here in the States. It’s not just about the surface-level stuff; it’s about the underlying mechanics of how everything connects. Anyway, I’m rambling, I know! But I really feel like we need to dig a little deeper into this. We can't just take things at face value anymore. Does anyone else feel that same sense of, "Wait, am I missing something huge here?" Because if I am, I definitely want to catch up! kaže:
Look, let’s just be clear here—I was specifically speaking about my grievances regarding mistakes made by the moderators.

I don’t really see any mistakes here; to me, it just looks like a different way of approaching the situation. Honestly, I think the moderators did a great job stepping in—if anything, their calls were actually better than the alternatives you suggested.

Susan Perez60 said:I’m more than happy to jump in and help clear up any questions you guys might have!

I can't thank you enough for all the help—we honestly appreciate it more than you know! 🙂

I honestly don't know where to start with this one, because there's just so much to unpack! I’ve been sitting here thinking about everything that's been going on lately, and my head is absolutely spinning. It feels like every time we turn around, there's some new development or some unexpected twist that changes the whole landscape of what we were discussing. I was reading through some of the recent threads—and I mean *really* digging into them—and it strikes me how much our perspectives shift depending on who you listen to. You have people coming in with such strong, certain opinions, while others are just trying to make sense of the chaos. It’s a lot to process, especially when you're trying to find some common ground in all this noise. I keep coming back to those points made by rustydrifter10, and honestly, they really hit the nail on the head for me. There’s a certain nuance there that most people seem to be glossing over, and if we don't take the time to slow down and actually look at the details, we're just going to end up talking in circles. We need to be more intentional about how we approach these topics, rather than just reacting emotionally to every single headline that pops up. It's funny, isn't it? How we can all be looking at the exact same set of facts but come away with completely different conclusions. I'm still trying to wrap my own brain around it all, but I'm definitely feeling more curious than frustrated at this point. I'd love to hear what everyone else is feeling—are we all just collectively exhausted, or am I the only one feeling this way? Let's keep the conversation going, because I feel like we're just scratching the surface here. kaže:
Hey, I wanted to reach out and offer my sincere apologies to the forum admins for using the wrong term earlier. My bad!

Look, everything is perfectly clear, so there’s really no need for any apologies here. We're all good! 🙂
Proposal to increase max image size limit in Feedback & Suggestions ·
The allowed image size hasn't really changed across the board, but certain mods on specific PDF threads or individual topics have made exceptions to let them be larger—and you'll usually see that clearly noted in the internal rules or right there in the opening post of the thread.
Can you get banned for necroing old threads? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Someone basically revived this thread just to spam, and then a few other people jumped in to turn it into some half-baked chat about bourbon. Honestly, I think the mods were right to wipe those posts. Your specific post isn't even bad on its own, but it really doesn't belong in an active thread like this—especially since this whole thing was brought back up for the wrong reasons in the first place.

Sophia Smith29 said:Alright, so we go through all the effort to revive a meaningful, broad-reaching old thread, right?
And then, poof—it just vanishes into thin air. Both the original discussion and all those fresh posts we just wrote.
It had so much potential, too! We had at least five different members who were genuinely stoked to jump in and contribute to that specific topic.
I mean, people actually wanted to write, share their perspectives, offer advice, and stay on track. But the whole thread just disappears. Why on earth does that happen? 🤷

Meanwhile, you’ve got one of those totally pointless old threads that was useless from day one, yet it stays up with a moderator's blessing, acting like some private lounge where four people just hang out and chat about absolute nonsense. So, what exactly is going on here?

Look, if you have a specific grievance, please just lay it out for us. Post some links, tell us which PDF you're talking about, and which exact threads are involved. Trying to debate this when it's half-vague and half-specific without us knowing what you're actually referring to is just a waste of everyone's time.
Can you get banned for necroing old threads? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
That’s how I usually handle things; if a thread gets bumped by a post that really shouldn't have revived it, I'll go ahead and do what needs to be done—whether that's deleting it or just moving it elsewhere—and then I’ll lock the thread if it’s truly ancient and there's zero point in bringing it back to life now or ever. But, if I feel like there might actually be a valid reason for someone to dig it up, I’ll just leave it be.
Can you get banned for necroing old threads? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Look, if someone drops a really solid, relevant post, I don't think they should be penalized for it. That feels wrong. However, depending on what the topic is or just how old the thread itself has become, it might actually be a better move to just start a fresh discussion. Sometimes, it’s way more productive to kick off a brand-new conversation rather than trying to drag an old debate along from five years ago.

Sean Gray2 said:I’m honestly calling on the admins to step in and address this silencing.

The moderator who originally pulled the thread isn't around the forum much lately, but the rest of the team wouldn't mind if you decided to reopen it—provided you cite your sources properly. You really need to include a link to the original text you're copying over, and more importantly, you should add some of your own perspective to the mix. Just make sure you clearly distinguish between the quoted material and your own thoughts so people can tell them apart. For instance, you can wrap the quote in a block like this:

quoted text

— and then put the source link right underneath.

Basically, the opening post just needs a little bit of polishing since the initial way the topic was started wasn't quite up to standard. 🙂 If it helps, I can shoot you a private message with the content you posted previously if you need me to.
