Any moderator can hand out those signature cards, but they don't actually attach them to your posts; instead, you'll find them tucked away right on your profile.

Brian Edwards6 said:So, basically, it's just a hidden link pointing to some non-commercial blog—nothing with any personal info on it—hosted over on WordPress. From what I can gather, that should be perfectly fine under the rules. But hey, if it isn't, just let me know and I'll pull it down without any drama at all.👍

It's totally allowed.

It’s a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to what you can post—some links are totally fine, while others are strictly off-limits. Generally speaking, though, if you're sharing a blog post, you should be good to go.

Hmm.

I don't think everyone is actually holding onto every single tiny little perk out there. Honestly, those things are such small, trivial details that they aren't even worth our time, let alone needing a formal set of written guidelines just to manage them.

Brian Edwards6 said:Are you seriously trying to tell me that police officers—and yeah, I’m throwing myself into that group here too—are basically just running on pre-programmed scripts?🤔

No, wait—I think you might have missed my point there! I was actually referring specifically to the robots, or even just presenting that as its own standalone fact. 😁 If I actually wanted to suggest that you were being driven by nothing more than a bunch of programmed scripts, then I would have tucked that little aside right into the part of the sentence where those scripts were actually mentioned!

You finally got an answer, though it sounds like it wasn't exactly what you were hoping to hear. Look, God used to be a moderator, and because of that, they still hold onto a few tiny little perks—like being able to reach out directly to the Administrator if they want to tweak their username. We don't really need to sit here and list every single one of those privileges because they're such trivial matters; honestly, they aren't worth getting worked up over or taking up any more of our time.

See, it was already established a long time ago that current mods and former mods don't have to post their inquiries in this specific thread. However, it might happen that someone who served as a mod way back in 2002 reaches out—someone who doesn't have access to the Moderator tools anymore and isn't recognized by the community because of an old nickname. In a case like that, we might ask them to check in on the thread first just to keep things organized.

At the end of the day, we're Moderators, not cops (unlike that pig 😁) or robots running on pre-programmed scripts.

(iz GöTwilight of the GodsäTwilight of the Gods in GottspođaöI can't even begin to describe how much I love seeing these kinds of discussions pop up! It honestly makes my whole day when we get to dive deep into topics like this. There’s just something about the way everyone gets so passionate that keeps me coming back to the thread time and time after time.öđä)

Well, I guess you guys can finally see that she’s had that little "ö" added back in now! 🙂

🤦

It’s been there before, no matter how many times you try to count the instances. At the end of the day, even if it isn't officially part of the standard American alphabet, we give the green light to characters like X, Y, or W... so why on earth wouldn't we allow "ö"? A character is a symbol, sure, but not every single symbol qualifies as a letter.

I haven't changed anyone's nickname myself, so I really don't know all the specifics. And honestly, I didn't even bother asking Gott what was going on. It’s my understanding that Moderators don't necessarily have to post in this specific thread to get things sorted; they can just reach out to the Administrators directly. I think that applies to former mods too, especially since some of them still have access to the Moderator PDF. She clearly bypassed this whole discussion because, as an ex-mod, she has every right to do so—plus, that "ö" has actually been part of her handle for a while now, it wasn't some sudden addition.

I really hope so. 🙂 And honestly, I’m feeling pretty nostalgic for the old ways too. 😁

Look, if you’re actually suggesting we scrap user registration entirely, just let me stop you right there because that is never going to happen. Beyond the usual clones and bots, we’ve got a constant stream of new faces joining this Reddit community, representing entirely new generations who need a way to participate.

Are you planning on turning this into an official complaint because they shut the thread down? Because honestly, as it stands right now, the whole topic just doesn't make any sense.

fadedmason6 said:Why do we even let people spam this board?

This place is supposed to have a clear identity: the veterans who actually put in the work are here, while everyone else is just a carbon copy. If you’ve got 500 posts or joined during that 2011 surge, you're basically a clone. And apparently, those users don't deserve an ounce of respect—they get banned just for using a misplaced comma.

Honestly, the best move would be to shut down the spamming entirely, wipe out everyone who joined after the final second of 2010, and then you'll finally have a core group without all these clones. Maybe the mods could use the break to chill out, too.

Do you actually have a specific grievance to air?

Thomas Wells5 said:Can I at least get access to K@s0?
I’m honestly losing my mind over this whole "17" thing... I signed up back when I was actually 17 years old.
Anyway, looking through the member list, I don't see anyone listed as K@s0, Kaso, or even K@s0.
So, seriously, what's the actual issue here?

There is already a user named Cash. Just so you know, the forum doesn't distinguish between uppercase and lowercase letters.

As for the other suggestion, it's a no-go because we don't allow adding non-alphabetic symbols when someone requests a nickname change.

Look, let’s be real here—I would honestly be absolutely thrilled if your proposal actually came to life. In fact, nothing would make me happier than seeing the Linguistics Department split off from the Social Science Institute to merge with the Literature Department. But unfortunately, we have to face reality: this is just a general interest forum, not a university, a specific department, or some formal academic community. Most people hanging out here don't even perceive the distinction between American Literature and Foreign Literature the way you do.

At the end of the day, the Forum should be organized in a way that makes sense and stays practical for everyone who spends time here and uses it. If a suggestion genuinely serves the interests of the Literature section, helps our local regulars, and has the potential to make things easier for the veterans while drawing in new faces, then we really ought to at least give it some thought and talk it through. Like Mirror said, please, feel free to throw your ideas out there.

🤣

I honestly think the very first joke I ever told my kids was, "What does a snail say when he's riding on a turtle's back?" 😁 Even if that wasn't technically the first one, it’s definitely the absolute favorite in our house!

Who here handles the mod selection? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Look, I really think you should take a moment to go over the subforum rules, because this isn't how we start new threads here. Beyond that, we've already gone over the whole process of how moderators are selected multiple times—though honestly, if you had just asked the question politely, someone would have been more than happy to walk you through it regardless of how many times it’s been said. As it stands, your complaints are just way too vague and don't give us any actual substance to work with.

And seriously, the trolling? That's a hard no. It's against the rules.

If you’ve got some solid reasons for being "for" or "against" something, please, go ahead and lay them out. But let’s be real—PŽK isn't exactly the place for just throwing out blind support (or pointing fingers, for that matter) without actually backing it up with some logic.
