My only real options were to post a warning and hope people took it seriously, or just go straight to a ban through the admin control panel. That’s why I made that threat about a temporary suspension if things kept going in that direction; it’s definitely not my usual style, since I usually stick to formal warnings.
I definitely dropped the ball by not reaching out to the other moderators or someone else on the team to step in and handle the sanctions while I was locked out.

Setting MK aside for a second, let’s be real—not all subreddits are created equal. You can't just allow the same level of "relaxed rules" everywhere, because if you did, some sections would absolutely fall apart given the topics they cover. I’m sure you know that better than anyone, trust me.

He just completely ignores whatever the moderators say and flat-out refuses to fix his attitude.
