If you’re actually that worried about some kid getting sick, you could have just walked into a Visa and let them know they’ve got expired stuff sitting on the shelves.

You don't even have to be the one pushing for it, though; whether someone gets let go usually just comes down to whatever corporate policies the company decides to enforce.
By the way, you've got the wrong PDF here. You might want to check the Economics section on the forum; there's probably already a thread covering this.

😵
Oh man, I completely lost my train of thought there for a second! 😁
Nah, that’s just not going to happen. And honestly, this isn't even particularly complicated, so there shouldn't be any reason why it couldn't be done.
Once you open up the thread, you'll see all the topic tools sitting right at the top. Just click on those, and one of the options available there is to subscribe to the thread.

Look, the whole point of a ban is simply to prevent that person from using the forum's features as a registered user, and yeah, that includes having access to private messages.
I explained what PMS was to her when she was only six years old. We were at Barnes & Noble, waiting in line while picking up her very first set of school textbooks.
Okay, that's just bizarre. Her first trip for school supplies and you're giving her a lecture on PMS????😕😕😕 I really wish I hadn't read this... (no offense intended) [SIX YEARS OLD???]
What would you even say to a six-year-old if they asked, "Hey, what's PMS?" 🙂
Do you really have anything better to offer than, "It's just a period of time where certain changes happen in your body that can affect your mood or cause some aches, but you can help manage it by eating healthy and staying active"—which is pretty much the gist of what I told her? It was quite a while ago, so I can't remember my exact wording word-for-word. 😁
Drew Hernandez said:I almost feel embarrassed even posting in a women's sub-forum (John Doe), but I’m genuinely curious. I know if I posted this on the men's side, I'd just get mocked or have my orientation questioned. So, do you actually talk to your adolescents about sex? How do you approach it, and when does it start? I was just reading some advice on a website suggesting you should start early—like, eight years old??? It said things like, "Boys have a penis and testicles, and as their voices deepen, they grow body hair. Girls have vulvas and uteri, and as they grow, their breasts and hips develop." What a load of nonsense. Eight years old? Seriously? So, how much do you or your better halves (ha!) actually discuss this with your adolescents? My kids tried to bring it up once, but I was already more informed than they were by then [honestly, I don't even know where or how I learned it]. I don't know why they even bothered. Since I already knew the deal, the whole conversation just boiled down to my dad's classic line: "Son, just don't do anything stupid," and that was that. How do you handle it with your sons versus your daughters? Do you initiate the conversation, or do they come to you? And at what age? Just curious...
I actually laid out my whole philosophy on this in two different posts over in the "Adolescents and Contraception" thread, so feel free to go check those out if you're interested! 🙂
Here's the first one.
And here's the second.
Our family has always been big on being totally honest and open; honestly, we don't think eight years old is too young to start having these conversations. We never did that thing where you hide things or use weird euphemisms; we just called everything by its real name instead of using silly little nicknames.
There’s already a thread about this. To save you some effort (even though I know you’re going to end up reading 😁 anyway), just a heads-up that there aren't any specific reasons listed, nor is there a timeline for when things will be back to normal.
EDIT: I’m really hoping they fix this situation soon.
If her inbox is totally maxed out and you try to shoot her a private message, she’ll still get an automated notification sent straight to her email letting her know someone tried to reach out. It'll basically tell her she can't accept any more messages until she clears some space. Even if she doesn't catch on while she's browsing the forum, she'll definitely realize what's going on once she checks her inbox. 😁
Look, just wait until she figures it out on her own. Or, if you’re hanging out in one of those specific chat threads, you could always drop her a line there in a post. Just please, don't go posting it in other subforums—keep it to the chat. If you're worried about everyone realizing you're calling her out specifically, just don't use her name. Instead, maybe just make a vague comment about how "someone" really needs to clear out their inbox. Most people will instinctively check their messages even if they know their inbox isn't actually full. 😁
If it's not a dedicated chat thread, your best bet is to reach out to one of the moderators for that subforum. Ask them if you can slip that one little sentence into a constructive post; honestly, I'd imagine they wouldn't see any issue with it if it's handled that way.
So sorry it took me forever to get back to you, life just gets so incredibly hectic sometimes! 😁
I went back and took a look at the specific post you were talking about, and honestly? I think the mods made the right call by pulling it down. It was written in such a provocative, troll-ish way, and the way you generalized everyone in that entire faith—basically shoving all those followers into one primitive stereotype—is exactly the kind of thing that would leave people feeling insulted. Just a little friendly advice: maybe try to be a bit more mindful of how you phrase things and give it a second thought before you hit that "post reply" button.
I'm not quite sure which deleted post you're referring to, but if you look just to the left of the post under the username, there's a little triangle icon right there; you can click that whenever you spot something offensive or anything else that breaks our community guidelines. Once you hit that, the moderators for this specific sub-forum will get a notification and they'll step in to handle it based on our rules.
Posts get pulled if the mods decide they don't actually belong in a specific thread, and there can be all sorts of reasons for that. In your case—looking back at what was removed over on the Green Party board—it fell under things like being off-topic, spamming, trolling, or just being disrespectful... basically, you were breaking the subforum rules in a few different ways. You don't really need a formal notification when a post is taken down; if you suddenly can't see it anymore, that's your sign. Just a heads-up though, asking to have a deleted post restored is itself a violation of the rules, which usually results in a strike and the post staying gone.
If you're ever genuinely confused about why something was deleted, feel free to reach out to the moderators of that specific subforum via private message or over on the Democratic Party board. Just please don't try to debate moderator decisions right inside the thread where the post was removed, because jumping into a discussion about moderation in the middle of a topic is also against the rules.
coppernomad44 said:And why wouldn't I? I mean, where else would we go... 😕
Personally, I feel like it makes way more sense for the person who actually issued the Ban to be the one explaining the reasons behind it to the users.
cosmicskipper39 said:Bear was just a regular user who actually posted useful stuff over in the Recreation section, and honestly, it seems like some of the ladies hanging out there—whether they're posting or just lurking—really miss him.
Smizl is just another user who asked about Bear’s permanent ban, pretty much like how I asked on the general boards why Blue got banned for good.
The only difference? Smizl ended up getting rewarded with 500 points for playing advocate, while I just got a straight answer to my question without any trouble at all. If you don't believe me, go check out my thread over in the Mod corner of the trash heap; feel free to verify everything I'm saying.
People aren't asking for much, seriously. They just want the rules to apply to everyone equally.
I’m honestly just hoping the admins weigh in soon regarding Smizlin's warning and the ban on the very thread she started to complain about them.
I know that sometimes the moderators will step in to explain how long a ban lasts or why someone got a warning, but those are usually just brief explanations—the kind of stuff you can already see right there on the warning itself—and they don't typically get dragged into a whole debate or try to justify themselves to everyone else.
