Seriously, why are you still filming this nonsense? I personally checked out of the franchise fifteen minutes before the first movie even ended.
Point Break (2015) in Movies ·
Hands down, one of the most useless movies ever made.

The thing doesn't even have any color. It looks like they couldn't even be bothered to run a basic color correction on it.

Honestly, the trailer tells you everything you need to know. My heart goes out to anyone brave enough to sit through this disaster until the credits roll.
What's going on with the Politics subforum? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Honestly, most of the topics here just don't grab me. After spending three days on this sub-forum, I feel like I already know everyone's predictable stances; I can practically guess what people are going to type before they even hit "submit." What’s even more frustrating is how the exact same arguments just get recycled from one thread to the next.
It’s much better to head over to other forums to see how people are tackling certain social or political issues. You usually find much better moderation there, and the discussions actually tend to be productive.

Between the technical glitches on this site and the overall user experience, I haven't felt any real incentive to write long-form posts for years now—that's a big part of why I'm so quiet around here.

All things considered, the state of this forum is a perfect microcosm of the American political scene at large. It's just party zealots and trolls running the show while anyone remotely sane stays far away from the debate.
Reason for ban is visible to everyone in Feedback & Suggestions ·
And why on earth are you so obsessed with everyone else's hand?
Lately, I’ve been watching this weird trend where we start importing the logic of YouTube crackpots—those folks back in the States who try to fight the government using some wildly creative interpretations of the law. You know the drill: chemtrails, Flat Earth theories, the moon landing was faked... just keep the list going.

"Municipal services shouldn't be paid for because they aren't mentioned in the Magna Carta. Only King John can impose obligations on landowners, and since he’s dead and the USA isn't his legal successor, feel free to rip up those bills and toss them in the trash."
The Scorch Trials: The Maze Runner in Movies ·
I’ll be honest, I drifted off during the first installment and I’m not even sorry about it, but this one was actually a bit more tolerable. It’s predictable, standard YA garbage loaded with every single cliché in the book, but if you just want to kill a couple of hours, it’s fine.

I might even check out the third part.
If you're looking for friendship or pen pals, you should head over to the classifieds thread on this sub-forum. As for meeting up in person, that happens on Tulumara. There are also specific sub-forums dedicated to hobbies. I’ve personally taken part in those tabletop gaming sessions organized over in the Fantasy section. If I recall correctly, they even host meetups for book lovers.

The scenario you're picturing just wouldn't work; the forum simply doesn't operate that way.
So, what happened to our regular Coffee and Chat?
You haven't actually made a single point, and you certainly haven't provided any real arguments for banning the cross. Honestly, once you brought up the swastika, you effectively disqualified yourself from having a serious conversation. At this stage, all we can do is sit back and enjoy watching you dig your own hole with those desperate logical gymnastics.
If my memory serves me right, the rainbow represents the covenant between humanity and God, and it pops up all over the Bible.

By claiming it’s strictly an LGBT symbol based on your logic, you’re actually being disrespectful to the Christian faith by trying to gatekeep two incredibly significant religious symbols. Honestly, I’d suggest banning you for that exact reason.
There’s a record of infractions on file. From what I understand, a full criminal background check is typically reserved for actual felonies, but that’s splitting hairs.

Your misdemeanor stays on your record permanently, but if my memory serves me right, you get rehabilitated after three years. This means that specific data can't be weaponized against you once that period has passed.
Fraud, plagiarism, or what? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
You can find advice on this topic quite regularly over on the Census Bureau boards and a few other sub-forums. I’m pretty sure I even saw a thread on the Economy board where people were actively pitching this as a massive moneymaker.

But honestly, I’m not sure what you’re looking for here. By your logic, we should just scrap the classifieds section entirely and start strictly moderating every single discussion on the site. After all, we aren't living in a "normal" country, according to your assessment.
Serena (2014) in Movies ·
I read somewhere that this was tossed in the trash ages ago, but they've decided to resuscitate it just to squeeze a few more bucks out of the Lawrence-Cooper combo.
My professor is wearing a Che Guevara shirt in Close to Politics ·
What on earth does being a communist have to do with wearing a Che Guevara t-shirt? People walk around in apparel featuring Queen Elizabeth II all the time without suddenly becoming monarchists. It’s just pop culture; it’s fashion. Trying to force an ideological motive into that context is frankly idiotic. We all know what actual communist symbols look like.
Politics: Is it possible to limit the number of posts per topic? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
northerntiger said:It’s an interesting concept, assuming it’s even technically feasible.

That's a solid thought, though I doubt there'd be much payoff.

In my experience, there isn't a single subforum on this site where a thread doesn't devolve into chaos after just three pages, veering off into some completely irrelevant tangent. It’s just the nature of the beast, and honestly, moderators can't do much more than sit here 24/7 trying to keep up.

It would be far more effective to tighten the discussion criteria—stop the endless thread cloning, shut down those circular arguments, and prevent everyone from just dumping their frustrations everywhere. The current "anything goes as long as it isn't a slur" policy is a disaster. Real moderation requires a much deeper level of engagement than what we're seeing now.
Why are TV shows rated higher than movies? in Movies ·
Honestly, I find it hard to believe anyone would sit through multiple seasons of a show they actually hate just to spitefully bump up its audience score. That logic just doesn't hold water. A movie is a one-off event, so you're going to get a much wider, more unpredictable spectrum of opinions.

Besides, TV series have a natural edge over films. In this day and age, creators can actually gauge audience sentiment and pivot the story's direction accordingly. A movie, on the other hand, is pretty much set in stone once production wraps.
Standard of living in Cuba is better than in America in Close to Politics ·
Does anyone know what happened to that forum regular who was so determined to pack up and move to Cuba to work?

I have a feeling his little dream evaporated pretty quickly.
I've been messing around with Flash for a few months now. My style is pretty much in the vein of South Park. Even though I went into this thinking it would be some kind of shortcut for animation, it turns out it’s still a massive amount of work.
Even if I had the cash and the right tools, I'd still need a small crew of people who actually know what they're doing to help me out.
Horrible Bosses 2 in Movies ·
A total classic. 😂

The first one actually held its own, but now they’re clearly just trying to squeeze every last cent out of the premise until it inevitably turns into something like The Hangover. I'll probably end up watching it, but mostly just because there's nothing else on.
Let's Be Cops (2014) in Movies ·
The trailer isn't half bad. Sure, it feels a little unpolished. But if they saved the actual good stuff for the movie itself, it might just pull off being a solid comedy.
