Anyone else rewatch RED 2? in Movies ·
The trailer looks decent enough. I actually had a blast watching the first installment.

@Martok: You basically just pasted the IMDb definition in that first post. I'm assuming that was an accident. 🙂

Oh no, that's dangerous, we should probably ban it then.

And that bit about "passing off fake crap"... honestly, that just makes me laugh. 🙂

Honestly, someone needs to ban you. 🙂

I couldn't quite make it to the end. Still, those sixty minutes were a decent enough distraction. 😁
The gunfire and explosions? Absolute chaos!

In any realistic scenario, they wouldn't even get close to the White House before being interrogated by the CIA about every little thing they've known since birth. 🙂

Honestly, most people who go into a movie based on the reviews are just looking for something new to nitpick. Every sci-fi movie or series is absolutely crawling with logical leaps—just look at >. If > had been wearing an impenetrable suit while on >, he never would have been stung by a thorn that caused such a lethal infection. And how on Earth does the > make so much noise traveling through > when, technically, there's no sound in a vacuum? Or what are those Starfleet officers even using to pay > for drinks on > if they live in a society without money? Viewing this film through the lens of an infallible scientific model is just fundamentally the wrong approach.

In essence, people are glancing at everything except the actual heart of the movie—which is the portrayal of a future > fighting for his very existence, and that incredibly touching story about the bond between a father and son.

Like I said before, maybe just ask yourselves: have you spent a little too much time watching sci-fi movies?

Team above! Go film!
If what you're saying were true, you could just lock them in a room for two hours and let them talk. These people rely on loud noises and flashy special effects because, without them, there wouldn't be a movie.

And that "father and son" portrayal? It’s so forced they practically have to advertise from the opening credits that they're actually related in real life; otherwise, nobody watching would ever believe it.

What on earth was Smith thinking when he made such a desperate excuse for a movie? I guess he actually assumed the audience is so gullible that we’d just swallow any piece of garbage he throws at us.
I really hope they actually take a second to think things through before they even attempt to greenlight another one of these movies.

Maybe his kid ran up to him, begging to follow in his uncle's footsteps, and he just caved so he wouldn't look like a pushover.

Or perhaps the kid had the nerve to tell him to stop being an idiot and get back to school, prompting him to hold a grudge for the rest of his life because his potential career was shot. 🙂

Benjamin Ruiz60 said:So, you're saying it's even more tedious than Hansel & Gretel?

Oh, I'm saying it's boring in a completely different way.

Hansel & Gretel is just a mindless slasher flick full of gore, gratuitous nudity, and cheesy one-liners.
Jack and the Beanstalk, on the other hand, is a proper fairy tale complete with giants, enchanted realms, and noble knights.

The whole vibe feels remarkably similar to First Knight starring Richard Gere.

A fairy tale for the little ones.

Based on the title and the trailer, I was expecting something with a bit more grit and a darker tone, but clearly, that wasn't on the menu (it would have felt way too much like Hansel & Gretel). There’s plenty of action and destruction, yet there isn't a single drop of blood to be found. While the characters are decent enough, their gags and antics feel dated and predictable.

The movie doesn't have any glaring flaws, but it's far from being anything special. It's a solid two hours to sit down and watch with the kids.
coppermarlin13 said:Can someone please tell me how much longer the women's corner is going to allow people to insult, mock, and troll Catholics and the Catholic faith?

Why is this kind of communication being permitted in discussions? Do you plan on putting an end to this little "party" in the women's corner, just like you did with the political threads? Why are political topics treated as more important than the constant insults and trolling directed at religion?

If you don't intend to stop it, why not?

Furthermore, I reported this post yesterday: I had a feeling it would go unpunished (even though the author herself was ready to face sanctions), so I’m curious—why wasn't it? Why is that allowed while much more benign posts, such as these, get sanctioned instead?

Next, on that specific thread, volunteers and supporters of the marriage referendum petition are being called all sorts of derogatory names, like "Catholic fanatics," "idiots," and so on. And it just passes. Can we flip the script for once and see what happens if we start calling those against the petition similar names without getting banned?

And finally, despite being provided with links to rulings from the European Court of Human Rights which clearly state that gay marriage does not fall under those specific human rights protections, some users continue to push their own versions of fiction. Do you think you will ever put an end to this? Here are two examples: click and click.

Thanks,

The other users gave you a perfectly clear answer. I personally corrected an inaccurate quote three separate times, yet you managed to ignore me completely.

It is true that the European Court of Human Rights interpreted the ruling to mean that gay marriage isn't guaranteed by the charter. That part is factual, because the legal definition of marriage is ultimately left to each individual signatory nation.

However, the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights explicitly states that marriage is a human right! Nowhere does it make a distinction regarding the genders involved. Marriage is equally accessible to all men and women.

If anyone deserves a penalty for trolling, it’s you and your crowd for constantly throwing out half-baked definitions just to bolster your own arguments. It’s the exact same thing with bringing up minority-majority status or political affiliations in every single thread.
What is the actual point of doing that? Those aren't valid arguments, and they shouldn't be repeated on every single page!

I really wish this whole process were more transparent. They could at least post a notice letting us know who’s under consideration and who their frontrunner actually is.
You never know—maybe some of the folks on Reddit have the inside scoop that the administration hasn't even caught wind of yet, and that info could be incredibly useful.

Weren't they supposed to be listening to recommendations from the community? Apparently, they took that advice to heart, because it seems to have turned out quite well.

It’s your typical setup.
The villain terrorizes the town, the locals hire a crew, and then that crew goes in and wrecks everything.

5/10 for me.

This is hands down the worst giveaway I've seen since someone offered a two-way trip to Chernobyl as the grand prize.

The only way this makes sense is if the competition is so weak that you can actually walk away with Carrie.🙂
darkbison14 said:Alright, but what I really want to know is why Germans and Austrians have such massive economies compared to ours. What’s the actual reason? Is it because they produce more goods or something else?

There are three main factors that drive higher margins:
- The skill level and education of the workforce
- The sheer volume and quality of available capital
- More advanced manufacturing techniques

The raw quantity of goods produced doesn't mean a thing. You can produce less volume and still walk away with much higher profits.
Honestly, I regret even clicking on this thread.

I didn't spend my childhood ducking sirens during wartime just to have some corporate capitalists swoop in now and strip the country bare.

We've already dealt with enough fallout from letting DM take over; we really don't need another thousand new people being exploited just to pad someone's profit margins.

Honestly, we should be jumping at this chance and bringing that massive global campaign right here to America. Where is the government when they’re actually needed? Instead of doing their jobs, they’re just caught up in endless political games. They really ought to be putting together a rock-solid offer and practically begging them to set up shop here.

What is there even to discuss?
The only way we're getting them here is if we hold a gun to their CEOs' heads.

There’s a hell of a lot of violence for a movie with this kind of subject matter.
I mean, you expect the gunfights and people getting blindsided with baseball bats, but there are a few scenes where they just absolutely mangle people.

It feels like every other character has some kind of sadistic streak.
