Alex Miller3 said:Oh, please... why don't you go ahead and drop some actual quotes, arguments, definitions, or even just some guidelines you're using to label everyone who disagrees with you as a racist or a xenophobe? Since you haven't actually written anything down to back it up, you're just talking nonsense.

Here’s how you barge in with this:
Now I’m actually feeling bad that this thread got split from the original one, because you can really see the hypocrisy at work here. People are declaring tolerance to be unwanted, while its supporters try to act like they hold some high moral ground (acting like it, anyway, because it’s honestly mind-boggling that anyone could think this way), all while the poor little xenophobes get "offended" when you call them out for being xenophobic and fascist. Yeah, you ARE fascists.

Total nonsense.

And then you hit us with that grand finale:

Pfft, we "super-tolerant" people have already learned how to deal with attempts to stifle reasoned criticism and sell unreasoned, phobic garbage under the guise of free speech. We'll figure out how to handle it.

And apparently, "you're fascists" counts as "reasoned criticism."
Honestly, you might find it a lot more comfortable living in some less democratic country where you can express yourself like that...

So, let me get this straight. You're claiming you don't know how to define racism or xenophobia, and instead, you just rely on the assumption that anyone opposing your view must be the opposite of what you think you are—even though you admitted you haven't even made a coherent point yet. But apparently, your own ignorance doesn't stop you from getting all offended the second someone points out that your posts are straight-up xenophobic and racist?

Man, gilda. This is honestly embarrassing. 😢

Aaron Phillips2 said:I honestly don't care why you went looking for a ban for yourself.
No, I guess we just can't call fascists fascists anymore? You aren't exactly invited to throw those labels around whenever you feel like someone is a fascist.
Do you go around calling people fascists on a regular basis? Are you really cool with other people talking like that?
Don't try to play the relativity card. You know how the rules work; you're the one who handed out bans on CNN.

And "not targeting anyone specifically"? Give me a break. What, are you too chicken to actually use forum usernames?
Just drop a metaphorical bomb and hope nobody catches it, since technically you didn't "call anyone out," right?
Are you even embarrassed?
You should be.

Of course they can. I didn't just pull that out of thin air; their own posts prove it. Besides, what happened to my right to free speech? Does it just vanish the second I call out a racist or a xenophobe for being exactly that?

Do you actually go around calling people fascists on the street?

I see they’re losing their minds over refugees again. Honestly, they can go ahead and throw their little tantrums—it’s not like I wouldn't call them out on it if I felt like it.

I mean, since when did we start measuring forum discussions by how much they match real life anyway? 😵

Aaron Phillips2 said:Thanks for nothing.
So why the hell is there this public callout for someone to issue a ban when everyone knows a mod can't even pull the trigger on another mod?

Supermod can handle it.

David Foster80 said:@Pringles, can you explain why Klonkin's post hasn't been banned? It originally looked exactly like what Aaron Phillips2 quoted in this post below.

What’s the deal with the cardboard now?

Aaron Phillips2 said:Hey Nancy!
Look, I know you're flying solo right now, but being the only moderator on duty doesn't excuse how you're handling things.

The gossip thread belongs to certain users who, from what I can see, are still getting by just fine.
It actually matters to me when people on my main boards start calling me a fascist or total trash. And I'm not talking about those random trolls who swoop in, spit on everyone, and leave in a fit of self-righteous rage.
What bugs me even more is seeing how fascist rhetoric and "motherf***er" insults—and everything else that comes with that package—get a free pass.
How long ago was that post reported? 4 hours?
The post is still sitting there without a warning, and nobody has been banned.
clones

Afrikin

The Forum rules say something completely different.

You aren't following the rules of the site you work for. You're just protecting one of your fellow mods. Instead of actually moderating a heated topic, you just swoop in and lock the whole thing down so nobody ends up getting banned.
And you're doing it by nitpicking tiny details. To put it in the language of the people who throw the word "fascist" around so easily—yet you don't react to actual fascism—honestly, aren't you embarrassed?

You know what? That invitation to join the mod team is useless. This is YOUR job, not a charity case. Do your job. If you can't handle it, call another mod for backup. Don't just toss the ball into our court.

My post isn't breaking any rules. Look, we all agreed a long time ago that you can call an idiot an idiot without getting punished, right? So, by that same logic, if users are posting xenophobic or fascist garbage, they should be called out as xenophobes and fascists too. I requested a just and exclusively just because I'm a moderator on another subforum, and I don't want my own posts being scrutinized under a microscope because of how I write.
Ladies, please. First off, complaints about the card packs belong in a different thread. Second, if you actually have proof that someone participating in this discussion is just a ban-evader from a closed forum or is using multiple accounts to manipulate the conversation, just report them through the standard post reporting system. We'll look into it. Stop being so cryptic—it’s not helping anyone, least of all yourselves.
David Vaughn75 said:They totally screwed me over back in school.

If this isn't Nazi territory, then what is? A type of cake? Weeds in the yard? What?

The Sports Fans subforum isn't under the jurisdiction of the Politics moderators. If the mods from back then want to weigh in, fine, I don't mind. But honestly, let's just stick to discussing the controversial thread over in the Politics section.

What do you even mean by calling it a "Nazi thread"? Are you saying every single post there is an endorsement of Nazi regimes? Or are we just letting people run wild with xenophobic, racist, and sexist views while banning anyone who dares to speak up against them? Do you actually think that thread is so drowned in hate and hysteria that it’s impossible to moderate and needs a total reset?

David Richardson67 said:Learn how to coexist with different perspectives. Not everyone who disagrees with you is a Nazi. And not everyone is driven by pure humanitarianism. You're showing a pretty surprising level of intolerance.

And I'm asking you to stop trolling and stop turning a discussion about moderation into a personal attack on the people involved.

Some of those "different perspectives" are straight-up violations of the forum rules and American law.
David Vaughn75 said:isn't it already?

one group of people is destroying the white race just by existing.
how else would you label that?

Bear, please stop trolling and actually try to contribute something useful to the conversation.

We delete and penalize racist posts. Honestly, we catch most of them, but given how often they pop up, I'm pretty sure a few slip through the cracks. That said, I don't believe censorship is the answer here. The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) situation is a massive political and humanitarian issue, and I have no intention of shutting down any debate regarding it.
Sam Alvarez4 said:Easy there. You're throwing around the word "Nazi" way too lightly.

I'm with you on that one.

but the hate speech and conspiracy theories are definitely real. This board needs much better moderation, period.

I agree with this, too.

We’ve been handing out warnings and bans left and right, and about two-thirds of the threads have been nuked. (Look, I get it—moderators are supposed to guide the conversation, not just act as janitors, but running a high-quality Politics sub would honestly require at least ten full-time mods working round the clock.)

If anyone has a suggestion that doesn't involve just shutting everything down, I'm all ears. We're happy to listen.

If anything, you’re being the hypocrite by taking issue with such a statement in the first place. By your own logic, if someone made a similar remark right here in America, you'd be calling them a hypocrite too, wouldn't you? 😵

Why? Do you even realize what that term actually implies?

If someone said something similar over in the States, they'd be labeled a hypocrite too, wouldn't they?😵

Oh, absolutely. Whether it's America or Australia, it's basically the same deal. It's just that one lot took a little longer to decorate their houses with Native American skulls.

However, if you cannot stop complaining about, protesting against, or showing disdain for OUR FLAG, OUR HONOR, OUR CHRISTIAN FAITH, and OUR WAY OF LIFE, then I would sincerely suggest you take advantage of the other great liberty available to Australians: THE FREEDOM TO LEAVE OUR COUNTRY."

The hypocrite finally spoke up. 🤣 Isn't it funny? His ancestors were the first ones to show up in a FOREIGN land, bring their own customs, their own religion, and their own flag, STEAL the land from the natives, and HUNT them down for sport.

Morgan Ruiz3 said:Just gonna lift a bit from my post on another thread—funny how when everyone was just messing around in the government thread and IBM came up, not a single mod even thought about stepping in, yet there, the consensus was pretty much set in stone.😁

Which thread are you pulling that from? You know we aren't supposed to be critiquing the moderation over on the main board. 😉

Back when it was Joe Biden, he was being called the President of our Beautiful Nation. Then Hillary Clinton comes along, and suddenly people start whining that the "evil leftist" mods are only calling her a candidate while Biden gets the full presidential title. Then, once things leveled out, the same "evil leftist" mods were supposedly making fun of her because she was titled the President of our Beautiful Nation instead of the President of America, blah blah blah... 🙂 Give it a rest.

rapidnomad512 said:Sarah Doyle54, that’s a pretty pathetic spin.

How am I spinning anything when you literally admitted that Ante Pavelić, Adolf Hitler, Aleksandar Ranković, and the rest are innocent just because they weren't convicted?

we're talking about over 130,000 people who were executed in the most brutal way imaginable.

Among those people were members of the Black Legion, the Leader's physical corps, and the Ustaše Defense—all supposedly innocent despite mountains of testimony regarding their atrocities.

I am honestly sick of this greasy way of twisting things, where claiming "not everyone was guilty" is used to justify crimes. I’m not justifying any crime here. My point is that all prisoners should have had the right to a fair trial, and since that didn't happen, there should have been actual legal proceedings for members of the winning army who committed crimes against prisoners. If that had happened, we wouldn't be stuck in these endless debates today. The whole massacre at Bleiburg is a horrific, shameful stain on our recent history, but that doesn't mean we should swallow historical lies claiming that only innocent children were killed there.

Anyway, do something civilized, step away from the moderator, and just agree with me. 😉

Sure, you were just waiting for the right moment. 😉

rapidnomad512 said:They’re innocent just because there hasn't been a verdict yet! As long as there isn't one, they're clean.

Fine. If that's how you want to play it, let's make a deal. From now on, on this Politics subforum, you aren't allowed to call anyone a criminal unless they have an actual court conviction. That means no calling Bill Clinton, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Joseph Stalin, or Adolf Hitler criminals either. Not even the guys from the resistance who dodged justice for the exact same kind of crimes we're debating here. I mean, come on, that's how a civilized society works, right? We shouldn't be letting random forum users or vigilantes playing judge and jury decide who's guilty.

Do we have a deal? 🙂

rapidnomad512 said:Killing anyone is a crime—whether it's Hitler, Tito, Ranković, Pavelić, Truman, Dracula, or Tony Blair!

Killing someone without a trial (you totally missed that part) is a crime, but does that suddenly make them innocent? Take a good look at your own list and get back to me.

I don't even know where to start with this one. It’s just one of those days where you look at the state of things and wonder if anyone is actually paying attention. Honestly, I feel like I’m shouting into a void most of the time. Everything feels a bit chaotic lately, doesn't it? Just constant noise without any actual substance behind it. I'm trying to make sense of it all, but sometimes it feels like a losing battle. Anyway, just my two cents. Moving on. kaže:
...There’s been all this talk floating around that they weren't actually covered by the conventions. So, you're basically saying it's fine that they were killed off? I mean, you didn't say it explicitly, but let’s be real—it was pretty obvious that's what you were getting at.

Even though I am... It’s pretty graphic. She’s gone on several occasions now to claim that those deaths weren't okay. It’s a pretty textbook example of selective reading if you ask me. Typical.

People love to claim everything is fine just because the people being killed were labeled "enemies of the state." As if that makes it okay. Like Adolf Hitler was out there just taking out his buddies instead of targets. It’s the same old logic—acting like it’s perfectly acceptable to hunt people down and toss them into pits just because they don't fit the government's narrative. It’s messed up.

The Reddit admins don't take responsibility for what users say in their threads, and honestly, they never have. That’s not how this works. Our job is to make sure those kinds of posts don't just slide by without consequences—and trust me, they don't. Everyone involved has been dealt with accordingly.

I don't have anything to say about this thread being locked. Just wait for the mod who shut it down.
