honestly, songs like "Wait for Me" and "I've Got You" always get me choked up. man, Predin... 😳
never made it to one of their shows. maybe it's finally time.🙂

If you feel like it's time, it's time... you won't regret it, trust me.😁

Look, I’ve got nothing but respect for Predin’s solo stuff—there were some killer moments in there—but let’s be real...

The lineup just wasn't hitting the mark for me: you had Mirko, those golden fingers from Maribor, the first guy ever to work in government accounting (do Americans even have that, or did they swap it out for something like Finn?), then Zoran on bass, Pintarič absolutely smashing the drums in a local jersey, and of course, most of all, Prislan on guitar, playing with his eyes closed in a baggy sweater that gives you actual chills.😎

After years of sitting this one out, I’m finally seeing the band I've seen more than anyone else in my life (honestly, every single show in the city after 1990, except for that one night I was pulling a security shift at a local chapel during the war)😁

Anyway, I've already got the tickets in my pocket. Next Tuesday, I’m making the pilgrimage to see one of the greatest bands to ever walk the earth.🙂 🙂 😍 🎉 🙂

A quick list of geographic and social terms that have either vanished from our vocabulary or been replaced by something else entirely...

1. Zanzibar & Tanganyika
2. Biafra
3. Formosa (Like when they competed as Taiwan in the Winter Olympics in Boston)
4. Vrginmost & Kardeljevo
5. Yugoslavia

Yeah... just a typo

Back in the day, our crew had this made-up word for an ashtray—"fumadrolja"

What exactly did they kick you out of the Big Brother house for? Even Heidegger wouldn't be able to make sense of that one...🙄

I’m guessing it’s:
1. hallway
2. bedroom
3. pantry
4.?
5. basement??

A Schlafzimmer is just a bedroom—you know, from "schlafen" meaning to sleep—and a Badezimmer is a bathroom. Think Baden Baden. Now you’ve got number 4 figured out. As for what "rumpl" means, I haven't got a clue...

But I do know what that old-school classic expression "anjpidekl" means.😁

I see you grabbed the latest Uncut: Bo Diddley is a legend... and The Clash, obviously.😁

Probably his best work, maybe even alongside Troubleman.

See? That's how it always goes. Everyone talks it up, but then you're just like, "It's good, but it's not life-changing." Either I'm missing something or people are just getting worked up over nothing. It's that classic Rashomon dilemma where everyone has a different take on what's objective versus subjective. Overrated, underrated, blah blah blah. Someone once mentioned Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is overrated, but to me, it's still one of the most influential albums ever made... You could argue about stuff like this forever.

I don't really get the hype around Marvin Gaye and "What's Going On." I've got the record, and sure, it's fine, but man, everyone puts it in their top ten greatest albums of all time or even higher. I just can't see what the big deal is...😕
stormyviper11 said:I figured ar peka would be the one telling this since he was actually there, and all I've heard is secondhand gossip... It was late eighties, at this dive bar in a thick suburb where you went because the beer was cheaper than anywhere else. Two groups of teenagers—my crew and some local guys we didn't know. Things were getting tense, maybe a wrong word or just a look. It felt like a fight was definitely coming. Two "leaders," one from our side and one from theirs, stepped up for a sort of formal introduction, just so everyone knew who they were dealing with later.

One of the first things the guy from the rival group asks is: "What kind of music do you listen to?" Our guy, the late Dudley, just looks at him, exhales a cloud of smoke, and acts totally cool: "Seventies disco, hot chocolate, old school stuff..." The guy from the other side's eyes go wide: "No way! Me too!" And instead of a brawl, everyone just ends up grabbing drinks together...

Well, you see, there's no need for me to recount it when you nailed the details perfectly. Only thing is, it was probably closer to '91 rather than the late eighties, but those tiny details don't really matter much.😁

I'll always remember that one line from the old basketball legend: "Plećaš, you played ball, but you probably don't even recall it now—it was ages ago."
Azra—nobody’s having a better time than us

look, honey, you’re being naive
if you think that kind of thing works in America
you've got decent footwork, but don't play dumb with me
you belong in court
aren't you just happy to be here?
it doesn't get any better than this, even in my dreams

and nobody’s having a better time than us
as long as every day stays just like this
soccer is the real deal
we make a perfect pair
old timers, you and I
just two country boys at heart
I'm crazy about you
abada abada

sorry coach, I wasn't paying attention
didn't realize the field was so hard
I lost the ball
I missed the shot
don't take me to court
I'm just glad to be here
it doesn't get any better than this, even in my dreams

and nobody’s having a better time than us...

Yeah, that picture book is called Panjoglav, or "The Boy Who Didn't Like Washing His Ears" by Željka Horvat Vukelja. Honestly, she should be banned for coming up with stuff that gross.😁
The instrumental version of Azra-Suzy f—Brane Štulić actually claimed back in the day that it was the best thing he ever wrote...

But honestly, my favorite instrumental stretch has to be the end of the original "Layle" by Derek and the Dominos... it’s not an all-instrumental track, but that "outro" almost makes me want to argue it's the greatest thing ever recorded in rock history...

Then there's "One of These Days," assuming you don't count that heavy breathing like someone's hacking away with an axe as vocals...

Or if we're talking Pink Floyd, then "Shine on You Crazy Diamond_Part 9," which was just Wright's handiwork...

And damn it, I love the start of the B-side (which is how you always listen to vinyl, right?) of the original Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells.

Like The Pogues-Led Zeppelin-Moby Dick Santana-Soul sacrifice, Fleetwood Mac-Albatross, Booker T. & the M.G.'s with Green Onions, or Cooder's Low-comotion...

I mean, hell, at this rate we could just throw in the whole Mogwai discography and where does it end?

I really do just love instrumentals.😎
