Bryan Edwards83 said:But wait, what's actually wrong with that? I guess you see couples working together in all sorts of industries, so why should politics be any different? They both founded their own party, she's an elected member of Congress, and he's the legitimate Mayor. Maybe they didn't just pull each other into their roles; they were both legitimately elected to them.

Nobody is questioning their legitimacy; it’s just a matter of ethics. You can't run America from your bedroom.☕
Sure, they aren't holding the exact same offices—he's the mayor and she's in Congress—but if they want to stay separate, they shouldn't be acting like a package deal. Her acting like they're in total lockstep is just ridiculous.

I remember reading somewhere that while families elsewhere might go into business together, here in the US, they dive into politics and turn it into a family enterprise. There is a massive difference between a couple starting a small business and a couple aiming for the taxpayer-funded trough. We don't pay the first group, but we definitely pay the second.

Personally, I think Ivica Puljak is fine, but he needs to focus on his job and stop blurring the lines between his private life and his career. Americans have certainly had enough of that already.

I nearly died laughing watching him and Marijana handing out canned beans on TV. It’s honestly pathetic to see them pivoting toward small business owner optics.👎 Personal life is one thing, but business is business. I’m definitely not giving my vote to anyone who treats politics like a family hobby, especially married couples.

Hardly. The others are working themselves to death—self-promoting and trekking from campus to campus. It's an exhausting grind.🤣

It’s a joke. Unlike most social benefits, you can qualify for this purely by being unemployed and having x kids. A slap in the face to everyone actually working, and $1667 is just excessive; it should have been slashed at $333.
Cancer patients get a maximum of $200, and even then, only if they meet certain low-income requirements.🤦

Ideological fanatics 🤣 What ideology? If you mean some painted bench you'll be obsessing over for years 🤦 and banning cultish flags, then sure, we're just "threatened" by that ideology. Truly pathetic. 🤣

The reality is that NYC doesn't have an alternative right now, and honestly, it didn't even before the election. Let people actually get to work instead of just maliciously attacking the decent parts of the opposition. They still have three years left in their term; it's way too early to start undermining them and claiming they're incompetent.

Sam Wright21 said:It’s become glaringly obvious that Waste Management services aren't being distributed evenly across New York City. You can't just dismiss the sheer volume of people complaining; they aren't making this up. Even over at the Sanitation Department forums, folks are reporting that their pickups are being skipped entirely—just look at the threads. In my neighborhood, things have been fine so far, though I can't quite put my finger on why we've been spared. 🤷 It honestly feels like certain districts are facing a massive deficit in service while others remain untouched.

I believe there are genuine pickup issues in certain areas, but you can't deny the massive exaggeration happening here. First off, those selfies of crowds loitering next to overflowing bins just to post them are disgusting; it proves we're dealing with a lot of idle hands. Second, everything that happens in NYC gets blamed on Eric Adams. Yesterday, the man actually felt ill in the center, yet the comment blaming AT&T got the most likes.🤦

Someone posts a photo of an illegal dump, then the commenter who shares a picture showing it was already cleared gets ignored, while the mob spends days arguing about trash that was hauled away ages ago. What is actually wrong with these people?
Being Ignored in Psychology ·
Larry Diaz4 said:Honestly, getting worked up over this stuff is just a waste of energy. The best move? Just give them that same cold shoulder back. I mean, sure, you have to figure out if they were actually ignoring you on purpose. If someone’s got their AirPods in and is power-walking down the sidewalk, they might’ve genuinely missed you. It actually happened to me once—this woman and her husband walked right past me (we even made eye contact!), but she ended up texting me later to say they were in such a rush with her man that she didn't realize she'd snubbed me. She told me not to take it personally, and honestly, I wasn't even offended because I could tell they were totally in a hurry.
On the flip side, being ignored used to really get under my skin, but I'm over it now. There was this one guy I helped out for years while he was dealing with health issues, and then four or five times he’d pass me by without even a nod. Fine. You don't want to help? Cool, I won't be looking out for you either.☕
Take my dad, for example—it really bothers him when the neighbors don't say hi. But if they snub me two or three times? I don't even bother looking their way anymore.☕
Personally, I still make an effort to be friendly and at least say hey, but that’s mostly just because of how I was raised—you know, that whole "always be polite and greet everyone" lecture from the older generation.

I agree that ignoring people is just plain rude. But really, it says everything about *them*, not you. Just ignore them and move on.☕
And why would you even force a greeting on someone who treats you like—well, like nothing?🕺
At the end of the day, you know who your actual friends are, you know who your neighbors are, and you know who's just some random acquaintance.

Exactly... If we're talking about actual friends rather than random acquaintances, then who cares. 😁
It means nothing to me. I don't expect anyone to acknowledge me, and if they don't, I forget about it in sixty seconds. It's a different story with friends. If a close friend walks past me like I don't exist—even though I know they saw me—that would definitely sting. But luckily, that hasn't happened to me yet.😁
Elvis Presley in Religion ·
The media loves turning unstable people into "celebrities" instead of just ignoring them and letting them sink to where they belong. It’s the same story with him and those outlets like CNN or Fox News... You can't even hate people like that; you just have to feel sorry for them.
Dealing with bad cramps? in Women's Health ·
Going vegetarian was my saving grace. I haven't dealt with real pain in years—well, maybe a little when stress hits, but a quick Advil handles it now. It’s a far cry from before, when I lived in constant fear that a flare-up would just ruin my entire day.👎

Now, I actually get through my daily responsibilities and can even squeeze in a workout. Before, I used to just count down the minutes until I could crawl into bed. I honestly thought I’d be suffering forever, but somehow I managed to beat the odds and live a normal life. Those commercials where people jump around in white pants without worrying about leaks? They don't look like total fiction to me anymore.🤣
Morgan Brown4 said:Man, I used to have that exact problem at home. 😁 One time, I accidentally turned on a movie while my mom and brother were hanging out in the living room. People just talking the whole time, making jokes about the movie... Yeah, ever since then, I make sure everyone clears out of the living room before I start a movie at home. 😁

Someone on this forum once mentioned being at a screening where a woman brought in chicken...

What even counts as a "normal flavor" to you? And why would onion or leek be such a huge deal?
Tbh, you sound just like the chaperone from my high school graduation trip who told us we couldn't eat sandwiches on the bus because "food smells might get into the vents and make someone throw up." 🤣

What was she supposed to say? Some professors used to tell us the same thing back in school, usually when people were making life miserable for everyone else on the bus. Let’s be real: there is such a thing as "normal smells," and the stench of someone's burp or onions isn't one of them. It’s enough to make you gag. I’ve stepped onto a city bus more times than I can count only to be hit by a wall of gas. Personally, I’ve never felt the urge to gorge myself on junk while riding the bus or sitting in a movie theater—maybe a few pretzels or some popcorn if I'm feeling wild. Honestly, if you can't hold off on eating that garbage for two hours, it's like you're fleeing a famine. Luckily, I haven't had much trouble at the cinema so far; I seem to pick the right movies to avoid those types.😁 What’s actually the goal here? Smothering an entire office, a bus, or a lecture hall with the stench of your lunch? Truly a visionary move.🤔 They should have dragged that woman out of the arena and had security escort her out immediately. She can finish eating whatever she brought in outside where nobody has to look at her. Honestly, some people are just exhausting.

neonsurfer4 said:I remember wearing a pizza cut [Does that count? 🤣] once, and I think maybe once I had a cheese pastry during a movie. But I ate it very quietly, if that even matters...🙂

Jokes aside, if the food isn't incredibly pungent or messy enough to give the janitorial staff a nightmare, I’ll eat it. Whether it’s fried chicken or whatever that woman mentioned bringing into the cinema earlier... I'm in.🤷

Everything listed here reeks, and that scent is going to linger in an enclosed space. Plus, trying to eat this stuff without making a mess is basically impossible. In a dark movie theater? Good luck finding anyone who can actually eat fried chicken or a hot pocket without dripping sauce everywhere.🤣 That’s exactly why you grab some popcorn or chips if you need a snack. They don't leave a stench, and cleaning up a few crumbs is easy—unlike dealing with greasy pizza or fried chicken spills. The movie runs about two hours; nobody is going to starve if they don't gorge themselves on everything in sight during that time...
I’d say the safest bet is hitting those early matinees around 4 or 5, or maybe late screenings after 9 PM. That middle slot is usually just a swamp of garbage, especially if it’s some mainstream fluff—mostly comedies or those heavily marketed horror flicks that aren't actually scary enough to warrant a crowd.
I got lucky last time I went to one of those during high school; it was nothing but non-stop giggling, constant chatter, and people stretching out so far you practically have to dodge them🙄, not to mention screaming at certain scenes. It was a total disaster...
Then there’s the food situation, which is arguably the biggest headache. Honestly, I’ve never encountered anything truly offensive, but I’d like to believe the idea of someone bringing in a massive plate of greasy street food is just an urban legend.😲
Regardless, I’m all for banning people carrying large bags or similar gear. Who knows what they’re hiding in there, or how much they might terrorize us with collective burping... Besides, it’s easy enough to sneak some snacks or a soda into a bag without anyone noticing. And please, let's stick to normal flavors; nobody wants to sit in a packed theater smelling onion or leek chips.

There’s simply no excuse for people who can't behave in a theater. I’ve been going to the movies since I was a kid and I never acted like that. Even when I was stuck in a painfully boring movie, I stayed quiet and didn't bother anyone, whether I was alone or with a group. At this point, if you can't act right, just stay home and stream it. Some basic decorum is required. If people can't manage that, staff should step in, give them a warning, and if they persist, kick them out. Let's see how they behave next time.☕
The Unborn in Movies ·
There are moments where this movie gets genuinely creepy SPOILER ALERT( the small kid and the grandpa crawling on all fours), though parts of it are just plain ridiculous(like that exorcism scene where the rabbi and the priest try to cast out the demon 🤣, fail miserably, and then some random bystander steps in to calm the demon down by reading something 🙄). Honestly, that whole pregnancy twist at the end was totally unnecessary and such a tired cliché. END OF SPOILERS

Plus, the lead actress spends most of the film in her underwear and a tank top, which feels a bit off for a female protagonist in a horror flick...
Anyway, it’s watchable. I think these recent exorcism movies are actually worse than this one; that trope is just completely played out at this point.
Sure, it’s possible, but most people just don't have the stomach for it. They obsess over everyone else, meddling in lives they barely know, frantically posting every half-acquaintance on social media just to track their every move. It’s all for a cheap dopamine hit—a few likes or some forced comment—yet when they actually run into these people in person, they'll awkwardly look away or force through some pathetic small talk.

I’ve never been a slave to that nonsense. I’ve actually declined friend requests from people I went to school with because, honestly, what am I supposed to do with the information? If some girl I haven't spoken three words to since high school gets married or starts a family, who cares? It has zero impact on my life. Period.

That kind of behavior is for small minds. You should be focusing on yourself and your own path. Instead of wasting precious time gossiping and stalking strangers online, I’d much rather invest that energy into personal growth—taking a class, hitting the gym, getting outdoors, or actually spending quality time with people who matter. I won't tire myself out with stupidity. Even with my own family—especially when my mom gets caught up in a bit of venting about someone (she isn't a gossip by nature, but she can get carried away)—I make it clear: I don't care about other people's business, and I'm certainly not letting it weigh me down.👍
Why is everyone staring at me? in Psychology ·
Whether he realizes it or not, there’s an entire legion of people out there with zero emotional intelligence. They have absolutely no clue when they’re making someone uncomfortable, or when they’re being incredibly intrusive. They don't grasp that sometimes a person just wants space—they don't want to talk, and they certainly don't want you hovering over their shoulder or breathing down their neck.
It’s the same crowd back home that constantly snoops on the neighbors, tracking every time someone comes or goes. They feel entitled to know everything about everyone else's business, regardless of how irrelevant it is to them. Honestly, they have no sense of boundaries. Staring at strangers is just the tip of the iceberg for this group.

If people were actually the way you all described, the world would be a lovely place where everyone mindfully focused on their own lives instead of meddling in others'.😁 But let's be real: that’s a fantasy, especially here in the North America. There is a massive difference between a quick glance and staring someone down like they're an exhibit, whether they're a complete stranger or not. It's just rude. I’ve lost count of how many times I've seen crowds of people gawking at others, especially in busy places like a crowded subway station. Unfortunately, those types are everywhere. I’ve never done it, and I can't see the point. If I'm on the train with someone, I’ll strike up a conversation; if I'm alone, I'll just scroll through my phone or look out the window. I certainly won't spend my time staring at strangers.
People who are always "too busy in Psychology ·
It’s pretty simple: if someone actually cares, they’ll suggest a makeup date or at least follow through on saying they'll call. Anything else is just a string of excuses for people who simply don't want to show up. Nobody is ever too busy to grab a quick coffee with a friend.
Psychopathy: Advice, discussion, and Q&A in Psychology ·
God, anything under the sun. It’s perfectly logical that there's a "soft" version of a psychopath; not everyone goes around carrying a knife looking for trouble🙄, most don't. I don't get why anyone who starts a thread like this gets immediately attacked for being "too obsessed with movies." It used to be the other way around—people would mock you because they thought every psychopath was some horror movie serial killer or a total maniac.🤦 It's almost as if being a psychopath is some kind of badge of honor. Same goes for narcissism; the moment someone admits they see themselves in those traits, a crowd gathers just to tell them, "No, you definitely aren't a narcissist." Why is that?
It drives me crazy too—people obsessed with everyone else's business while being completely blind to their own flaws. Heaven forbid you mention something about them; they immediately get defensive, yet they can't help poking their noses into everything else. I'm just not built that way. For instance, on my street, the second someone speaks a little too loudly, neighbors start peeking through the blinds just to catch the gossip🤣. Everyone acts like an expert on lives they aren't even part of; it's just endless, toxic meddling.😵 Yet, if anyone actually needs a hand, those same people vanish. Honestly, I couldn't care less; eavesdropping just isn't my style. Luckily, I'm surrounded by people who feel the same way—no malicious gossips in my circle.😁

I don't mind making a passing comment now and then, but sticking my nose into someone's private life or spreading rumors is just beneath me. It’s genuinely uninteresting. People spend far too much energy focusing on others instead of themselves, which is just pointless... My motto is simple: live and let live.😁

If I settle up after being about 20 days late on a demand letter, will that stop a writ of execution? Thanks.
I don't have any friends in Psychology & Therapy ·
Sure, nobody actually enjoys gossip or people who obsess over everyone else's business, yet those types always seem to be surrounded by huge crowds🤣,I guess if you aren't constantly talking behind someone's back, life must just be incredibly dull for them...
Honestly, you’re better off just ignoring people like that. I dealt with my fair share of idiots at my old job in Chicago; except in your case, this person hasn't even tried talking to you yet. In my experience, someone will approach me, act totally normal, and everything seems fine—until they suddenly decide to start ghosting me or even making snide remarks😲, just out of nowhere. It's like they've turned into a complete stranger overnight. I have no clue what their deal is, but it’s definitely not worth the energy. Just hit ignore and move on.
