I’ve actually found a solution to this problem. It involves using your own brain (you know, that little spot you see when you shine a flashlight in your eye, not the light behind it). 😬
If you actually manage to remember what you read, the problem is solved.
Relying on cookies or staying logged in constantly isn't always the most reliable strategy. When technology fails you, manual effort is the only thing left. 🙂
In principle, you really shouldn't be converting from one format to another—at least when we're talking about lossy files.
The smartest move is to just rip directly to MP3 (using LAME at HQ=0 Stereo). Keep what you have in OGG, and if you want other formats, just find the MP3 versions elsewhere.
Converting from WMA to MP3 is going to result in garbage quality. Honestly, there's a good chance the original WMA rips were already pretty bad to begin with.
Besides, Audigorabber isn't designed for that. It's meant for ripping, though it can convert WAV files to MP3 using LAME. For anything else, you should just use the software I mentioned earlier.
John Palmer4 said:Why would I? I should be earning that "moderator - worker" badge by now. Tech support has gone pretty quiet lately; there just aren't enough questions coming in. If people actually started using Internet Explorer or old versions of Edge—you know, without updated antivirus or a firewall—this whole tech help forum would be booming again... 😁
John Palmer4 said:There’s this brilliant mail client called AOL Mail where a butler basically serves your messages on a silver platter with a "You have new mail" notification. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if there was an option for a personal valet to hand-deliver your mail while you're out wandering the streets...
I fully expect you to step down from your role as a moderator-worker after a comment like that. 😁
So, you actually consider things like ActiveX and those types of self-executing exploits to be "secure programming"? That's interesting. Who would have thought such methods were dangerous?
W3C is the standard, period. Just like laws stay in effect, standards don't just change whenever someone feels like it. If Microsoft wants to lock users into their ecosystem by breaking standards, that’s their own damn problem. People are migrating to other platforms more than ever. Once that momentum starts, there's no stopping it.
You have to run cleanups every month and stay on top of everything. I don't even bother with antivirus or any Adware when I'm using Opera. It stays completely clean without me having to mess around with any tweaks or anything.
Internet Explorer isn't exactly great at handling certain websites. Not to mention you practically have to update it once a week.
Comfort? You just have to throw Java into the mix. Installing Opera takes maybe thirty seconds. Compared to spending an hour and a half installing Windows, it's basically nothing.
Daniel Fowler9 said:No, David Harris44 actually has a point: Internet Explorer is easily the best browser out there. Nothing else touches its speed or how it renders pages. Besides, since 97% of users rely on Internet Explorer, it's obviously the industry standard. If any other browser wants to be relevant, they have to play catch-up by copying Internet Explorer's features. But by doing that, they're always just trailing behind, so why bother using anything else?
Daniel Fowler9🙄
A "standard" is what people actually agree upon, not whatever fools happen to be using. It's like the metric system being the global standard, even though some clueless Americans and Brits stick to their own units—which is exactly how you end up missing Mars because of a simple calculation error 😁 )
Burning CDs is such a hassle. By the time you actually track down the right disc, you’ve already lost interest in the music anyway. Burning endless stacks of CDs feels like a total waste of time. Is there even anything worth listening to? Not to mention the constant headache of discs spinning out or getting scratched.
The hard drive holds what it holds, and everything else is just sitting on the internet waiting for you. 🙂
