If you really want people to stop bothering you, just turn off your direct messages. Honestly, there’s no other way to block random strangers from sliding into your inbox.
If someone is giving you a hard time, either report their message so the admins can handle it, or just hit the ignore button. Also, if some stranger reaches out and you aren't feeling the vibe, it’s way better to just leave them on read. 😉
I have absolutely no interest in debating my avatar. I’m not changing it, and I’ll leave it up to the Admin to decide what happens next. But I do want to make one point very clear. People love to paint the LGBT community as being at odds with Christianity. That’s just wrong. It insults gay Christians, it insults all homosexual people, and it certainly insults me. Honestly, you're just showing blatant homophobic views! I don't hate Christians, and I have zero intention of offending anyone. My reasons for choosing this avatar are private, and they’re staying that way.
Jack Davis26 said:Hey there! First off, sorry if I’m posting in the wrong thread—this isn't about a ban, just a warning. I got a warning from Richard Nelson84 because my signature doesn't follow the rules. I might have messed something up, but I can't even send a DM to Richard Nelson84 to ask for clarification since it says I don't have permission. If someone could explain what the issue is, I'll fix it once I get back home this weekend and hop on my computer...
First, sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I was out of commission for a few days.
Regarding your signature, everything is laid out right here in the rules.
The problem is this part: Rule 3 states signatures cannot be used for advertising purposes. Besides that shout-out to the local sports team, you also had an ad in there for buying certain products, if I remember correctly.
Jason Harris5 said:Just think about how things were back when being gay was actually illegal—everyone breaking those laws knew they were committing a crime, but it didn't stop them. So yeah, they were effectively criminals. And once someone starts repeatedly breaking the law like that, they're eventually going to slide into other types of criminal behavior too.
So why are most people in prison heterosexual then?

Plenty of his former comrades are right here on this forum, and they can vouch that his military service wasn't defined solely by the reasons he was convicted and spent years in prison. Since this is still such a sensitive and delicate subject, we feel we should allow the nickname and avatar in this instance. We aren't sure if we should lump him in with Pavlovic, Hitler, or similar figures who are absolute no-nos, so we've decided to let it slide for now.
Fine. But that opens up a massive ethical dilemma, especially regarding the victims. You claim his buddies on this forum can confirm he wasn't just a war criminal. Seriously? Is there any war criminal out there who was *only* a criminal? Of course not. But that begs the question: How many good deeds can offset one truly evil act? It creates a dangerous narrative here—the idea of being innocent despite being guilty. Or worse, becoming a hero. I have to ask: what exactly is heroic about organizing the liquidation of civilians or participating in murders? To me, relativizing these crimes feels like Norris's supporters don't just deny he committed them, but actually think there's nothing wrong with those actions.
Since you've already made your call, and I can see this thread heading in a direction neither of us wants, I suggest we close this topic.
Nobody wants to be an outcast. Nobody wants to be the butt of the joke. As Sloterdijk so perfectly put it: ''Shame is the primary driver of social conformity—it’s the switch that turns external control into internal self-regulation.''
I can't speak for the US, but in Canada, it’s a completely different story. There is almost zero awareness regarding the importance of organ donation. Honestly, I often get the feeling that people around me are genuinely appalled by the idea. They act like being buried in such a state after death would somehow be an insult to their dignity or something...🤷 It’s as if they think their physical appearance matters even then, or like they're being violated one last time.
You aren't starting this thread to actually discuss crimes potentially committed by asylum seekers; you're just using those incidents as an excuse for your xenophobic and racist outbursts.
