I get what you're saying, and honestly, you’ve got a point. If you take any of these teams and make them play two straight games against Team USA, they aren't going to fare pretty... well, maybe the French have a fighting chance, but everyone else? Not so much. To my mind, the US is currently playing at a level a tier above Spain. We always had those gritty, hard-fought battles against Denmark, but I think we could actually pull those wins now. What really stings, though, is looking back at that Euro final where we absolutely crushed France, only to turn around and let the Danes walk all over us... just kills me. Man, those were the days... remembering when Coach Steve Kerr would call a timeout, just pure magic...
So, did you guys catch that bit about how much "coaching experience" we supposedly have under our belt with Coach Miller? From some local high school bench straight to the national team... what kind of absolute nonsense is that? It’s like watching someone trip over their own feet and call it a dance move. And don't even get me started on the effort they put in to make sure Mike averages about 12 rebounds a game. Honestly, I can't wrap my head around it... it feels like a room full of geniuses in there, if you know what I mean... Anyway, can one of you actually explain the tournament format to me? Is it really just the top three teams moving on to the next round before hitting the semifinals?
Also, is anyone by any chance heading out to Chicago for the championships?
It’s hard to admit I’d actually prefer seeing Balic riding the bench more than playing, but just like how Duvnjak used to step up whenever he needed a sub, Balic could be that lethal wildcard for Coach D. Lackovic is shooting lights out lately, which is great to see. Bicanić feels like someone who could come off the bench as a real joker when we need a spark. I won't even get into the wings—we all know where we stand with Vori. Honestly, I think we’ve come a long way since last year's tournament. If our defense stays at least "decent," we definitely have a shot at fighting for a medal... My only real fear is that one group we always seem to struggle against. But if we can pull off an upset there, we head into the semifinals on merit, and from there, anything is possible in the finals...
At the end of the day, most betting shops in the States probably have us listed as long shots compared to the heavy hitters, but I have a feeling—like you always do in these big tournaments—that we're going to make it all the way to the championship game.
I’ve got a mountain of stuff I need to get down on paper, but honestly, I just can't be bothered right now. I'll keep this short: our gameplay has actually improved lately. LeBron and AD are looking sharp, and even AD's perimeter game is stepping up... should be enough to carry us through to the Conference Finals. I'm pretty convinced we shouldn't be counting on Westbrook anymore either. He's just not it. Anyway, more on that later...
I’ve got a mountain of stuff I need to get down on paper, but honestly, I just can't be bothered right now. I'll keep this short... our game has actually leveled up lately. LeBron and AD are playing out of their minds, and even AD's shooting looks better than usual. It should be enough to carry us through to the Conference Finals. I'm pretty damn sure we shouldn't be counting on Anthony Davis to carry the load anymore either... Anyway, more on that later...
Hey everyone! I’ll be the first to admit, I’ve messed around with routers before, but this time I think I actually managed to screw things up properly. A relative handed me this Linksys WRT54G that’s running that whole dd-wrt thing. First off, does anyone know how I can strip that back to factory settings and just make it a "normal" router again? Or is there even a point in bothering with that... But then there’s the bigger headache... Up until now, I’ve just been running on Wi-Fi—you know, antenna outside, coax cable running to a PCI WLAN card, everything working fine. Now I’m trying to integrate this router into the mix so the whole house actually gets decent coverage. Is there anyone out there kind enough to walk me through this? Thanks in advance.
Hey, can anyone dig up the stats on Alilovic from last night's game? If we come out swinging against Sweden just like we did against the Argentines, and somehow manage to jump out to a 3 or 5 goal lead early on... well, even the refs won't be able to do much about it. Sure, they might try to pull some shady calls when it's a dead heat, but if you're already up by 3 or 4, they usually back off a bit... once you show them you've got the momentum, they tend to realize they can't mess with the scoreboard too much...
We’re going to absolutely crush them tomorrow. Honestly, if the French decide to show up and play second fiddle, let them go out there and tear each other apart... we'll just be busy collecting yet another gold medal.
We seriously need to tighten up this defense, for God's sake... It was bad enough during that first half against the Danes, but then we just completely fell apart in the second. Total meltdown...
