Anonymous said:Was that second-to-last post supposed to be your final word?

Exactly, 👍 everyone’s got their own take, everyone thinks they're right.
It's just the black and purple crowd who, on top of what they claim, also love to mess with and harass people
with bans and warnings.
I can DM you some examples; there are
millions of them all around us. 🙂

And what about us? ZiDic will stick around in one form or another, but certain mods and
admins will keep stirring the pot and being provocative... honestly, the only solution
in my book would be to strip the admins of their power at PZK; I think that would probably
calm down some of the mods too. 👍

Well, you asked, so I figured the polite thing would be to give you an answer. If you weren't actually looking for one, then my apologies—really, just that. 🙂

EDIT: I'm catching up to another question I missed earlier:

Michael Taylor8 said:it would be ideal if they provided specific reasons

Look, I think I really missed the mark here—mostly because there were so many threads on the PZK boards about this, and I wanted to see what the fuss was about—but I've already explained my perspective several times. If you don't see it my way, fine, but I’m going to keep trying—perhaps in vain—to show that most people on this site, the ones who aren't constantly dancing on the edge of getting banned or warned, will probably view the situation exactly like this. And then I get told I'm being biased or that I'm some sort of clone—🙄 whose, who knows?—instead of you considering whether maybe a viewpoint that contradicts your own justification isn't actually objective.

that right to appeal you're talking about... well, ZiDic doesn't have that.

And whose threads have I been reading for days now, all opened under various different handles? Having the right to appeal doesn't mean the appeal will be granted—you can file an appeal, have it rejected, and that doesn't suddenly strip you of your right to appeal. It doesn't work quite like that.

then why don't you suggest a solution to the problem?

The solution isn't solely up to me; I honestly don't know how far you guys were going to push this, and based on the reactions, it seems like you aren't particularly interested in any opinions that don't flatter you or go against the grain. 😉

So, in my opinion, things should
1) limit trolling specifically to trolling threads, rather than spreading it to other topics,
2) accept a ban as something you just have to weather until it passes,
3) stop the whole cloning thing entirely and instead, if you absolutely cannot go three days without 🙄 being online, just stick to one handle, or perhaps use a second one strictly for private messages, and leave it at that.

Is that really asking too much? 🤷 If it is, well, look, you basically brought this on yourselves; all that noise didn't exactly win you many friends, and frankly, you've become a real thorn in the side of the moderators. 😉

Who's claiming what? The mods? The admins?

You're really getting on Gregory Garcia's nerves, aren't you? You're barely making an impact.
And you're basing half a page of text on nothing but "people are saying"???

If a mod or an admin tells you the sky is blue, man, you've gotta take it with a grain of salt
and verify it yourself, because the second someone turns black or purple on this forum,
you simply have to stay skeptical. 👍

By the way, Gregory Garcia actually made some valid points here before they were deleted—posts, entire threads—why was that? 🤷

Everyone seems to have their own little theory about everything—honestly, it doesn't really matter much.

Are we actually looking at realistic claims here? 😕 Well, looks like we have another joke teller in our midst.

Look, I think the fundamental issue here—and it’s a bit of a sticking point, really—is that whenever you get hit with a ban, or even just a warning or some content being wiped, there actually exists a functional way to appeal it. You can actually stand up and say, "Hey, wait a minute," and have your say.

So, if you’re going to walk around acting like you didn't get banned—or even given a warning, for that matter—and just carry yourself like you're some kind of untouchable legend who doesn't have to follow the rules you agreed to when you signed up... well, I mean, what am I even supposed to say to that? It’s just a bit much, don't you think? 🤷

Look, I don't think anyone actually believes that bans or red cards are handed out just to mess with people or play some kind of cruel prank—it’s really quite the opposite, isn't it? In my view, the whole point of those measures is to actually curb the trolling and prevent anyone from being harassed or picked on in the first place. It's about keeping things civil, I guess. 😉
Quick question in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Look, please forgive me for responding to everyone like this, but I’m hoping this will be my final word on the matter—after which I'll just let the "proper institutions do their jobs." 😁 Just kidding. 😛

The argument being made is that banned users haven't been this restricted anywhere else except on their own little corner of the internet—their specific niche where they can behave almost however they damn well please. And then, when they get called out, they act like, "Well, maybe there's a post somewhere else..." 🤷 But honestly, after reading everything, the most likely truth remains exactly what the Democratic Party presented—which is how I’ve interpreted it, anyway. I’m sure there are details I don’t know, and frankly, I don't need to know them. 🙂

The main issue here—the absolute core of the problem—is that the banned individuals simply refuse to follow the rules of the forum. Actually, it’s more than that; they don't give a damn about them. But hey, who actually reads the fine print, right? Everyone just clicks "next, next" in a rush to become some big-shot expert...

So, as long as you remain so convinced that anyone questioning this is just being "biased," and you maintain that you're completely innocent and were only banned due to some moderator's whim, nobody is going to believe you—except, of course, your fellow banned buddies and friends.
Your narrative—that this whole thing is just one moderator acting out of pure spite—simply doesn't hold water.

It’s pretty obvious that you don't take bans seriously if you immediately create clone accounts to keep doing the exact same thing. The point of a ban isn't to start a factory for clones; it's to prevent undesirable behavior from cluttering the forum and to give the banned person a chance to actually reflect and change. If someone creates a clone the very second they are banned, it’s clear they haven't given even a moment's thought to whether they bear any responsibility for their own situation.

Anyway, I just want to—with all due respect and purely out of goodwill—point out that you might benefit from a little self-reflection.

Since steelskipper5 brought it up, I remember times when I used to complain about moderators on PZK, which led to me being locked out or having posts deleted—I can't quite recall the specifics anymore. In my case, the moderator just quietly accepted the judgment of the person I was complaining about without making a huge scene. In your case, however, EVERY moderator knows who you are. So, is it really possible that every single one of them has a personal vendetta against you, or is it more likely that you're creating an immense amount of unnecessary work for them by constantly breaking the rules?

And this whole "you punished me instead of him" thing is honestly laughable... Let me give you a real-world example. Suppose a police officer pulls you over and evaluates (which is within their rights) that you are unfit to drive and suspends your license. What do you think would happen if you ordered a friend to show up in a different car, pull up right in front of the officer, hop in the driver's seat, and just keep driving? 🙂

Out of ten suspended licenses, maybe ten people manage to slide by. So, should the officer who actually caught you sit there whining, "Why aren't you chasing those other guys?" :confused. It makes no sense.

This forum is a virtual space for fun and games, but it isn't a Formula 1 track. People can definitely get "wrecked" by driving too fast here—this time, you were the ones driving recklessly, and who knows how many others you've sent to the virtual hospital or forced into virtual hard labor through your antics—deleting your posts and hunting down clones? This isn't just "fun and games" to everyone involved. Try to grasp that, and maybe then you can come back. 🙂

Joshua Hughes4 said:Yeah, right. Everyone here has different interests and different impulses. If we all wrote politely, calmly, and kept our cool like you do, we wouldn't even need moderators.

Nobody got a perm ban just for trashing a thread. Period.

They haven't been around any longer than the users who got banned. 🙂

Well, that’s exactly my point. 🙂 From what I can tell—and I say that with some authority since I've been hanging around here for seven years now—you generally have to wreck quite a few threads and then keep up that rude, arrogant attitude even after getting a warning before you see a permanent ban.

Angela Edwards4 said:So, what "deleted threads" are we even talking about here? The only thing that actually got nuked was the zidić thread in the off-topic section—now it’s just gone.

And what's with this talk about warnings? Look, there isn't a single veteran user on this site who hasn't picked up at least one warning, especially when the debates start getting heated.

But that’s no excuse to wipe an entire thread or hand out four permanent bans. Let's be real—we all know this was just a personal vendetta by some petty moderator. If only he’d actually step up and own it...

I don't know exactly which threads were deleted or how many, but it's pretty obvious there were some, given that the zidić crowd isn't complaining about warnings—which implies they were getting plenty of them well before the bans hit.🤷
That being said, based on how aggressively you're writing here—and look, I get that you're feeling emotional about this, but you aren't helping yourself—someone might actually think the zidić group was collecting warnings like they were trophies. 🤦 Like, "Oh, look at us, look how many red cards we've racked up!" 🤦

Personally, I don't take any pride in a single warning I've received, whether I deserved it or not; to me, a warning feels like a defeat, a sign that I failed to articulate my point properly.🤷

Please, seriously, this whole "personal vendetta from a moderator" explanation is honestly a bit laughable, and like I mentioned, it's really not doing you any favors... I'll say it again: please, just rethink everything. Let's find a real solution instead of this, because it should be clear that with an argument like that, you won't convince anyone, nor will you bring back the zidić crowd... assuming, of course, they haven't done something truly unforgivable, like bringing family into the fray or something along those lines.🙂

Look, I’m not fifteen—and that doesn't mean you are either—so we shouldn't have to go hunting for a niche group just to validate our weird thoughts or habits. If we did that, wouldn't it prove we aren't actually that weird?
Instead, when we see something bizarre, we just call it out for being bizarre.

What I’m genuinely curious about is the mindset of those moms (and no, this isn't about baking 😬) who insist on giving babies nothing but bottled water starting from day one.
Is it "spamming" or "starting drama" if I jump in there and ask: good grief, ladies, why on earth do you think that's healthier than just using tap water?
Or how about asking the women who swap out pads and tampons for those reusable cloth versions that sit soaking in a jar in the bathroom for five days before they even wash them... why? Doesn't having that sitting in your house all week gross you out?

At the end of the day, this is Reddit—it's supposed to be a place for exchanging ideas.🤷

But here, every sub-forum acts like a total cult. If you don't fall in line, they come for you with everything they've got.
Then the mods turn on you, and suddenly you're persona non grata anywhere where "your people" hang out.

EDIT:
That wasn't the accusation this time.
The attack on the thread happened last time regarding the Fitness section, but since it seemed to be bothering people, I figured I'd try to explain myself.

👍
True, but it’s also a place where like-minded people can congregate—kind of like how those specific zidić threads tend to pull everyone together. 😉

Look, if I’m sitting here saying I love corn cake—and I really, truly do—then what I’m looking for are recipes for corn cake. It’s that simple, right? I don't need someone waltzing into my kitchen to lecture me about how it's basically "food for idiots," or trying to convince me that banana bread is somehow the superior choice. If I wanted a lecture on dessert hierarchy, I probably wouldn't have asked for a recipe in the first place. 😛

Well, I think—and I’m not necessarily saying it’ll be me, though someone certainly should—that it’s probably time to report the mods. Honestly, they're just letting the spam fly and letting people drift completely off-topic in this thread, which is getting a bit ridiculous.

I mean, looking at what you wrote—and honestly, you put together the most concise yet thorough timeline I’ve seen here—it almost feels like the folks over at the zidić crowd are showing up to this thread just waiting to get banned. It’s as if they’re more interested in pushing their own agenda until our investigation—or maybe yours, I guess—is finally finished. 🙏

Good grief, everyone—can we please just take a collective breath and calm down for a second?

Look, I don't think the Democratic Party realizes that this isn't exactly some wild West free-for-all where you can just say whatever pops into your head—and honestly, thank God it isn't. If it were, we wouldn't be able to actually exchange ideas properly, would we? There really is a certain... let's call it a code of conduct for sharing opinions around here, even if it feels a bit structured sometimes. 😉

I think you’re exaggerating just a little bit there... I mean, if you just show up like a normal, polite person—the way you originally intended to ask—and simply say, "Hey, why exactly is this corn cake so incredible?" nobody is going to take offense. It’s a harmless question! But, I have to reiterate my point: it’s a completely different story when you walk in there ready to bet money just to prove that your version of the cake is superior. That's where the friction comes from.
Quick question in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Angela Edwards4, what you’re bringing up here—honestly, it just isn't a valid reason, and I think we can all agree on that. It really isn't. This:

You tell me:
Is it just me, or is it totally normal to feel this sudden, intense urge to jump into a discussion the moment you stumble upon an interesting topic? I’m talking about those posts that really grab you—whether they’re something incredibly positive that lifts your mood, or something totally negative that just gets under your skin—where you immediately think, "Okay, I have thoughts on this." I guess I wonder if everyone else experiences that same impulse to participate, or if it's just my own way of processing things. Maybe it's just a desire to connect, or perhaps it's just that itch to weigh in when something actually catches my eye... what do you guys think?
Is it just me, or does anyone else feel that weirdly intense urge to jump into a heated online debate—especially when you see someone making a point that perfectly mirrors your own—just to let them know they aren't alone in their thinking? I mean, when you see a thread where someone is getting absolutely grilled, but you find yourself nodding along with every word they say, it’s almost hard to resist the impulse to chime in and basically say, "Hey, I'm right there with you." It feels like this sudden, almost instinctive desire to offer some solidarity and show that their perspective isn't just some isolated outlier, but actually shared by others. Is that... I don't know, normal? Or am I just overthinking the whole social dynamic of internet arguments?
Is it actually normal to sit there at your computer and hash everything out in your own little chat room—you know, like your own personal digital living room?

The Democratic Party claims that this is just how things work—that everything described here is perfectly normal and totally fine. And then...

And now:
Well, I guess you could say that the people in the local zoning departments—those types who always seem to be looking for a fight—don't usually complain when they end up getting handed a penalty like this. They said exactly what was on their minds, didn't they? In my opinion, they basically got exactly what they deserved—it’s just the natural consequence of speaking their truth without any filter.
-

I mean, honestly—it’s just typical of those little Wall Street types to act like that. In principle, I don't think anyone ever really complains when they get handed cards like these—it’s just how things tend to go, I guess. If you look at the patterns here—and I really think you have to—it becomes pretty clear that this wasn't just some one-off fluke or an isolated incident. It feels more like a recurring theme, doesn't it? To me, it looks like something that has happened multiple times before, almost like a cycle that keeps repeating itself.
I mean, from what I've gathered—and I could be wrong here, mind you—it seems like the mods started acting this way toward them specifically because they... Well, someone went ahead and nuked an entire thread—just like that. Honestly, it just doesn't hold water—it’s that simple. 😉 Because this has never once happened in the entire history of this Reddit community—getting a permanent ban just because of a single thread—it’s pretty clear that there's always been a reason behind it. I mean, I guess it's always been about the underlying issues rather than just one isolated post. It really feels like we’re just seeing the same patterns over and over again—it's almost like déjà vu at this point. I can't help but wonder if we're stuck in some kind of loop where history just keeps repeating itself, regardless of how much we think we've progressed. It’s a bit exhausting, honestly, to watch the same mistakes happen under different names. Maybe I'm being a bit cynical, but there's definitely a sense of repetition here that's hard to ignore. Look, we’re seeing some rule-breaking here. I’ve been around this community for a little while now—long enough to know how things usually go down—so I have a decent sense of the landscape. 🙂
Quick question in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I'm not fully caught up on all the specifics mentioned here... but from what I can gather, they really only have themselves to blame.
Spamming other threads in waves is, of course, a massive 🙂 and just plain unprofessional, rude, and bad etiquette.
I mean, looking at what the Democratic Party said—that they wandered into another thread, started a fight, and ended up getting banned—they’re basically admitting they earned it. So the real question is: what now? They got what was coming to them, nobody's losing anything, so let's just move on.

First off, is being banned actually something unexpected or desirable? Now they're acting surprised—essentially causing their own bans and dragging others down with them—so why are they acting like the moderators are out to get them? 🙂

That being said, I think people are overlooking the obvious pattern in how they act—they flock together to some random thread, provoke every living soul until they start catching bans (like, five at once, which is pretty standard 🤦), and then they retreat back to their own thread.

Do you honestly think that repeating this kind of behavior—and I want to emphasize, *organized* behavior, almost like an act of solidarity 🙄—by flooding threads and triggering bans for both the guilty and the innocent, is considered normal or somehow harmless? 🙄

Just take a second to think about it. Seriously, think about what you actually did. You caused mass bans, clearly, and not just once. Once the mods finally got fed up with cleaning up after you, they decided to hand out some much heavier sanctions.

You shouldn't have played around so much, thinking you could just go in and cause chaos on every single thread—well, that's exactly what happened. You could have just ignored this "cake," or whatever it is you didn't like, and vented about it on your own zidić, and you might still have had it. But like I said, you just pushed it too far. 😉

Give it some thought. 🙂

To is a band I knew absolutely nothing about
before the show, I’d only managed to catch a song or two online
I'll believe in anything
which makes me pretty easy to convince😁

And honestly, the concert was great—really excellent, actually. The band feels very organic and laid-back; you can just sense this deep sense of unity in how they play together
None of the four of them really play "traditionally," if you know what I mean—they’re all constantly experimenting with their instruments. But they have this specific vibe where it doesn't come off as just noodling around; instead, it feels totally original, inspired, and intentional
At times, I found myself thinking of Modest Mouse, especially during the vocals (whenever the guy on the synth takes the mic), and because of those structured, complex songs that don't rely on a catchy chorus, but rather on a specific phrase, an atmospheric snippet, or a sudden guitar attack 😁
Though, I suppose they're a bit louder than MM, even if they aren't quite full-on noise

In any case, it was such a pleasant surprise to encounter such an electric, melodic, yet loud band after that endless stretch of neo-folk junk that—I guess—we have Gram Parsons 🙏 to thank for. It feels like the era of that stuff is finally winding down. I’m looking forward to seeing if Giant Sand 😍 can really hit home with this bearded group playing in their flannel shirts

The acoustics in the venue were a little hollow and strange🤷 It wasn't ideal, really, since the sound profile shifts drastically if you move just a few feet to the left or right🤷
The heat and humidity were a bit much, too; it's a shame they didn't play outdoors. As the days keep getting warmer, I feel like someone really needs to do something about the climate control in these places

Moderator misconduct complaint in Feedback & Suggestions ·
After I've already raised a flag about how the moderators are handling things—which, honestly, feels like a bit of a mess right now—I find myself wondering if anyone else is actually seeing this...I think we might need to dive a bit deeper into this topic—if you'll allow me to wander off on a slight tangent there—because there’s just so much nuance to unpack. I was actually reading some commentary earlier today that touched on similar ground, and it really got me thinking about how we approach these kinds of discussions. It isn't always as straightforward as it seems at first glance, is it? I suppose what I'm trying to say is that there are several layers here—layers that involve not just the immediate facts, but also the broader implications for everyone involved. It’s easy to get caught up in the surface-level details, but if we take a moment to step back—just a little bit—we might see a much more complex picture emerging. I guess my point, if I can call it that, is that we should probably be looking at this from a few different angles before we jump to any firm conclusions. What do you all think? Does anyone else feel like we're missing a piece of the puzzle? That topic is actually closed—the moderator basically told me to go ahead and brush up on the FAQ and the Amtrak rules before posting there again.

Let’s just set aside for a moment the fact that the moderator seems to be assuming I haven't actually read the guidelines—as if they can just point to the rulebook and call it a day to effectively toss my appeal out the window.

I did, of course, make sure to read through everything before I filed my objection—and honestly, looking back at those rules, there isn’t a single thing in there that suggests my claim is baseless. If anything, the wording seems to support exactly what I'm saying.

Of course the thread in the Literature section was wiped clean—at least according to how the moderators saw things. My whole point here is just to suggest that it might have been a bit of a misjudgment; I really only wanted to step in so we wouldn't lose what could have been a genuinely great discussion.

Could you please walk me through this? I'd really appreciate a bit more clarity on how this all works.

Amtrak is officially stepping up its game—it’s becoming a zero-tolerance zone when it comes to harassment.

I’m having a bit of trouble spotting where exactly I might have crossed a line—where exactly is the insult in my post?

If you're planning to start a new thread, please make sure it’s actually well-constructed and backed up with some solid reasoning—especially if the whole thing is a direct response to a moderator's action taken against you.

This whole discussion is about the moderator's recent move—specifically, that decision to shut down the thread. Now, if you’re asking whether the original post was actually well-written? Well, in my humble opinion—and I realize this is just how I see things—it absolutely was. There's a difference between judging the quality of someone's writing and simply expressing an opinion, and I think we need to be clear about that distinction here. Closing a thread isn't really a matter of opinion; it's a specific action taken by the staff.

Thread titles and individual posts really need to be specific and actually mean something—otherwise, what's even the point?

Everything's been taken care of—it’s a bit of a unique situation here, to be honest—so I went ahead and clarified the whole reasoning behind this thread to make sure the purpose was clear.

The Amtrak moderators are here to make sure everything stays orderly and runs smoothly within the Amtrak subforum.

I wasn't even questioning that—not by a long shot.

So, following up on that—I’d really appreciate it if someone could give me a specific, coherent, and actually useful explanation as to why the thread where I was flagging the literature moderator's improper conduct was shut down. Thanks. 🙂
There’s just no way

but then again, maybe—who knows? 😬
