AU... well, it's probably for the best that you aren't going into a full-blown analysis—otherwise, someone might just start throwing things at you.

He wanted sex because he needed to convince himself that everything was okay—but she isn't okay, because things clearly weren't okay. She goes along with it, sure, but then she gets her revenge immediately after the act, simply because he FORCED her into it.

As for how much they both actually enjoyed it? Well, that seems pretty obvious from the very next scene where we see her back.

Man, I don't know... that whole scene where the guy is trying to act tough, then he trips over his own chair and ends up sprawled out on the floor—and then the guy who's supposed to be taking him out just kicks him in the knee so he's left writhing there... it felt so pathetic to me, you know? I guess I was just thinking, why didn't the other guy just stand his ground? Honestly, if it were me, I probably would have just stepped up...🙂

But hey, whatever. 😎

I was just sitting here thinking about Monstermagnet - Powertrip—you know, that specific kind of heavy, driving energy they pull off? It’s one of those tracks that just hits differently depending on your headspace. I guess I find myself circling back to it more often than I probably should, maybe because there's something about that raw, gritty production that feels so visceral. It's got this relentless momentum that just pulls you right in, almost like you're being swept up in it before you even realize what happened. I don't know, maybe it's just the way the rhythm section locks in, but it creates this atmosphere that feels both massive and incredibly intimate at the same time. It’s funny how a single song can hold so much weight, isn't it?

Uh, talk about bittersweet....😁 I guess I have a bit of an ambivalent relationship with them—mostly because I absolutely adored them for "Alive and Kicking," but at the same time, I kind of loathed the fact that he was married to Chrissie Hynde, who, in my eyes, was one of the most beautiful women in all of rock and roll... thankfully, the marriage didn't last...😁

Anyway, my big hit of the week has to be Bloc Party - Silent Alarm . I mean, I just randomly threw it on in Winamp maybe three times before it finally clicked—it’s a minimalist masterpiece. It feels like these genuine fountains of fresh, energetic pop & roll, somehow managed to squeeze everything they could out of a standard, dry setup of bass, guitar, drums, and vocals. Just a little bit of extra flair, too. 😁 They really squeezed it out like a cow milking a desert, I suppose. 😁

There's no denying it, those guys are talented. But then again, you run into that old, tired trope of the Black musician being treated like a rare exception in a white landscape. It seems like whenever a group plays mostly white-coded music, if they happen to have a Black member—even unexpectedly—they're suddenly viewed as this "special" or outlier phenomenon. 🙂

Since we're already talking about grunge—and since you only singled out Screaming Trees, who, let's be real, aren't even strictly grunge—you basically just pointed to where Mudhoney ended up. And if you ask me, I'm calling it now: Mudhoney is going to become the American version of Azra—the kind of band people look back on and truly admire twenty years down the road. But, since it seems like you don't quite see it my way, well... suit yourself! 🙂

I mean, seriously—if we're talking synth-pop, OMD is basically the Stone Temple Pilots of that genre... well, feel free to correct me if I'm totally off base there. 🙂

One last thing—for me, 😁 feels like listening to Andre's autobiography delivered through one continuous, intense rant set against a backdrop that's basically Twilight... I mean, hip-hop is such a phenomenal genre because it opens the door to real storytelling... but honestly, that’s something only true masters like Andre 3000 can pull off 🙏 🙂

And I'm sure some of you might point out that someone like Nick Cave does something similar—you know, that kind of soulful, moody vibe... 😁

Sure, it's a bit of a marathon; it runs for an hour, which means you'll probably only get around three or four quiet moments in a whole day... but it’s just so incredibly diverse that you're constantly catching a new lyric or stumbling upon some gorgeous little jazz miniature...

....if I keep going down this rabbit hole, I might actually figure out jazz one of these days 😎

I happened to stumble upon a clip of this new local band performing in New York City—and man, they are absolutely killing it!👍 👍 👍

The announcer mentioned that the lineup includes a former member of Yammat—though, let's be honest, they aren't really much of anything these days😁—plus Jinx's bassist.

The whole vibe is just incredible; it’s got that urban, laid-back, modern feel... honestly, I'd just call it cool. 😁

If their full album turns out like this, we are all in serious trouble! 😍
