I was scrolling through some forums back then and managed to catch a few scenes here and there. Honestly, I don't even have a comment on the movie itself (I just can't wrap my head around how anyone spends their time and money on a production like that).
For instance, brightscout63 seemed to appreciate the way they portrayed hysteria, but for me, it felt way too over-the-top. (I know, I know, I am an American woman 😁, and I certainly understand a thing or two about being hysterical. 😉)
I did like Liv Tyler; she had a certain fullness to her. 🙂 But that’s just about her looks; I won't say a word about the acting. 😁 However, I will comment on the woman Dr. T falls for (I don't actually know her real name or the character's name; like I said, I only watched bits and pieces). She's the one who acts in that one series with a husband. 😁 Now, that woman never does anything irritating, but she is perfectly plain. Whether it's through her presence, her speech, or just her overall vibe... she's just your typical neighborly aunt.
What else did I notice? Not much...
Addendum: Finally, in what you might call a "lowbrow comedy," you get a vivid look at childbirth, even if it's depicted as this clean, plastic, and rapid event. 😁 And that's just the start... Sex isn't a taboo subject anymore, nor is murder; I don't see why childbirth always has to be shown behind pristine sheets with just a tiny bead of sweat on a forehead... 😉

We spend our lives stuck in this virtual tug-of-war, constantly hunting for excuses and justifications for our own side, rather than just seeing people for who they truly are. Haven't we all played a part in widening that gap? Like when a group of guys talks about women as if they're nothing more than objects of desire, or when a mother tells her daughter that every man on the planet is a jerk...
I honestly haven't experienced things that way. It’s just not my reality.

Why can't we accept that every single person—ourselves included—is their own center of the universe? Isn't it sometimes much lovelier to orbit someone else, making them your center of gravity, showing them total devotion, instead of waiting for the whole world to start revolving around you? Perhaps it's just a sign of how much we lack flexibility and tolerance... or maybe it shows how truly solitary we are as humans.
I quite enjoy orbiting my own center of the universe. 🙂 Though, truth be told, I have a few different centers. And honestly, there is something wonderful about revolving around them. I don't really know any other way to live... 🙂
Jacob Wilson50 said:Well, that title is a bit silly... I don't mean they are actual 18th-century movies, just that they share the same themes... But anyway I really wanted to say that I absolutely adore these three films:
-Dangerous Liaisons (truly one of my all-time favorites) and -Valmont (which is based on Pierre Choderlos de Laclos' book, Dangerous Liaisons),
and -Sense and Sensibility.
All that scheming and playing games behind a mask of politeness and social norms is just... 👍
So, I was wondering if anyone has any other similar movies to recommend?
There are a few adult films that aren't actually bad... but I can't think of a single title off the top of my head. 😬
I have nothing but praise for this movie, though I do have a quick, slightly off-topic question. About two or three months ago, I saw a film on TV with a very similar theme—almost identical, actually. It starred the same actress who played Margaret in this one; you know, the one with those distinctively wavy ears. 🙂 Does anyone happen to remember the title of that film? The name escapes me... In that movie, her character had an out-of-wedlock baby, and while she was pregnant, she was placed in a convent alongside other women facing similar fates...
Oh my goodness 😍... oh my goodness 😍... oh my goodness 😍... I just love them so much 😍... I had such an incredible time last night 😍... my dear Bangles 😍... and my wonderful boyfriend, who actually grabbed the tickets on time so I didn't have to deal with any drama 😍... I seriously need to see them again 😍...
Haha, it looks like everyone already slapped the label on him that first popped into my head: predictability To be honest, I couldn't figure out how the title actually related to the movie, but then my boyfriend explained it to me—cluelessly, of course... 😳
My favorite memory will just be an empty theater and a big bucket of warm popcorn
The only thing missing from this movie for me was a switch. 😳 I was really expecting some sort of S/M switch dynamic between them.
On the flip side, that one scene with the shadow/saddle/carrot felt like overkill. Why? Because most of the kinky stuff happened spontaneously, unplanned, or sparked by something more or less accidental... It just flowed so naturally. But for that specific moment, he had to set everything up beforehand, almost "with intent," which isn't how his character usually operates... So that scene felt a bit out of place.
All things considered, it’s an unusual film with a beautifully nuanced take on "perversion"—something that is usually portrayed through such tired, bad stereotypes.
Even though I found myself laughing several times, I don't view this as a comedy at all. And I mean that in the best way possible. 🙂
Yeah, honestly... our translators are just terrible when it comes to Canadian. Even the most basic stuff—like someone answering the phone with a polite "Please," and our people just translate it as "Hello."🙂
Whether it’s superficial or cliché, I have to say—I actually had a good time watching it. 🙂 I honestly don't see anything in that movie that could be considered particularly irritating or offensive... at least not regarding Ms. Branka. Unless, of course, she sees a bit too much of herself in the character... which would certainly be an issue... 😉

My address is just_Sandy_@hotmail.com. I actually already have the list of Christopher's films. 🙂 But if yours is more recent than a year old, just go ahead and send it over... 👍
I didn't see this one on any of the film lists being discussed here.
I’m going to be practical and make use of this forum, since I've already tried every other channel hoping to find what I need, but nothing has worked so far.
Please... If anyone can help me track down this drama by Charles Bukowski from, I believe, '67, I would be incredibly grateful. It’s not that money is an issue, but I am more than willing to set aside a decent amount to finally get my hands on it.
In the meantime, if you have anything to say about this movie, please go ahead. I haven't seen it myself yet, so I'll just enjoy reading your thoughts...

I'm really hoping this reaches them, because it would be quite interesting if they actually spoke up... (<---- Mr. Spielberg, please click the link)

When a movie is a massive hit and you're expecting a sold-out crowd, everyone ends up in their assigned seats. You can also book a specific spot ahead of time if you want to be safe... If everyone expects the venue to be half-empty anyway, then people are just going to sit wherever they feel like...
It’s the exact same story here in America. At least in Washington, D.C....

Oh, absolutely! 😁 👏 No one else comes to mind right now, but once I remember someone, I'll add them... 😁
Update 1: Every single James Bond—egg! Update 2: Elizabeth Hurley—egg! Update 3: Anyone from any "larger than life detective" movie—egg! Update 4: Calista Flockhart—she gets two eggs, one smashed into cubes she thinks belong only to her, and another just to be devoured...
