The movie isn't actually all that bad it's just that he was so incredibly unattractive and lacked any real talent honestly, if a decent actress had been cast in his role instead, you might have actually seen a decent film here 😁 and Will Smith is completely unrecognizable
You honestly have to give this one a perfect 10/10. It’s an absolute spectacle like nothing else out there. Plus, they're already working on a sequel. 😁😁
Top comment on Rotten Tomatoes: "I'm actually looking forward to Squidnami and Piranha vs Volcano."
The movie was a total washout back in the day They cast some random model as the lead—which, honestly, added zero depth to the series this new version is definitely an upgrade 😁
Regarding how things wrapped up, I seem to recall Lincoln being in the capital—was he a monkey or something? 😁 Whatever, it doesn't really matter 😁 since they never made any sequels and the whole thing just flopped... hardly anyone mentions it online anymore 😁
Douglas Barnes13 said:Look, I’m not taking sides here—A Song of Ice and Fire is phenomenal at its absolute best, provided I’m not feeling like an old graybeard who just wants to nitpick about people "discovering" things that have been obvious since the series launched back in '96—but honestly, if this bumps up the engagement on the Fantasy forums, you've got my vote.
Let’s just keep things constructive and we’ll all have a good time 🙂
Whatever, man. I bought the first book back in 2004, but I didn't actually sit down to read it until maybe 2010 or 2011. I just had no clue what kind of treasure I was sitting on in my own collection 😁
I’ve been scrolling through endless threads about Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series it's honestly overwhelming—just a massive, chaotic sea of debate that shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon... it'll probably keep going forever so, I was thinking—maybe we could actually spin up a dedicated subforum within the Fantasy section? Something on par with how we handle Star Trek or Star Wars 😁 honestly, if we did, I bet it would pull in way more daily posts than those two sections see in an entire month 🙂🙂
Interesting Trivia Unseen for twenty years because of a copyright issue : in One scene, George Orr plays a record of The Beatles' with a Little Help from my friends. The film was finally allowed to be rebroadcast When The Beatles version of the song was replaced with one sung by a different vocalist. see more »
I watched this on a DivX rip about ten years ago... And I'm looking at it now—is the picture quality actually any better???
To be honest, I don't remember much of the movie itself... I mostly watched it because I liked the author's work. I actually just picked up a LeGuin book, so I'll probably give that a read and then circle back to rewatch the film.
Hopefully there isn't already a thread about this, because I’ve been hunting for one for ages and came up empty
What are your go-to movies for Easter... specifically the religious ones... Though, I guess you could also throw in stuff that just fits the Easter vibe even if they aren't religious 🙂
A few come to mind: The Passion of the Christ, Ben Hur, King King, Jesus of Nazareth... The Goods and Greatest Story ever told Life of Brian
I watched Life of Brian and, honestly... it wasn't quite as negative as some people make it out to be...
I haven't sat down with The Last Temptation of Christ or Jesus of Nazareth yet, so I can't really give them a final rating🙂
Yeah, yeah... it’s available on Aleph... It feels like the only place it really struck a chord was here in the States. Everywhere else? People just don't seem to care. Personally, I think the movie is great. But honestly, I’m almost afraid to watch it again—just in case I end up disappointed by my own nostalgia.
Regardless, it belongs in that special category of unforgettable films—the ones that actually have a heart and soul.
Yeah, that's the one... honestly, both movies feel a bit too slow—kind of forgettable, really they don't do much for me but hey, they're worth a watch if you have the time
I spend a lot of time sitting not as much as I used to, but things have flared up lately there’s no blood, though... so maybe it's just an earlier stage mostly, just lying down or going for walks helps as the weather gets colder, I'll be doing less yard work and spending way more time sitting around so, uh, I don't really know what to do about it
The thing is—I’ve spent quite a bit of time following Kirsten Dunst and I've pretty much seen her entire filmography But honestly? I haven't caught a single thing featuring Dakota Fanning
