It's a decent watch, but nothing that’s going to stick with you forever. Honestly—compared to the junk he's been putting out over the last decade—this is actually pretty solid. But if we're talking about his absolute best work (for me, that's definitely The Village and Signs), this doesn't quite hit those heights. It was interesting enough for the first hour or so, but then the last 40 minutes felt dragged out and boring. The ending was just... meh. I really wanted that "wow" factor. 6/10
bluerider3 said:I have my doubts about whether this one is going to pull in massive profits. Honestly, it feels like movie theaters have been struggling to make real money lately, and since Banks is known for directing total blockbusters, I’m leaning towards this being a box office flop. That said, the plot itself is absolutely insane.
What do you mean "known"? She's directed three films—one was a Netflix release, the second actually made decent money (Pitch Perfect 2), and the third was a bit of a dud (Charlie's Angels).
Tried watching this, but honestly, I gave up. Look, the story holds up, but the camerawork and color grading are so bad it’s almost unwatchable. Does everything in Mexico always have to look orange, while courtroom scenes are stuck in blue? And don't even get me started on those tiny white subtitles they put on the TV. If it weren't for Douglas and his leading lady—plus Benicia—I’d think this was some low-budget production from a local news station. Maybe it's just me, though—I usually can't stand movies that feel like documentaries, especially when they jump between a bunch of different characters without any real sense of order or logic.
Just watched it—absolute blast. It’s one of those classic action flicks that really takes you back to the 80s and 90s vibe. Some folks might call it predictable or say they've seen it all before, but honestly? I don't care, as long as I'm having a good time watching 8/10
I watched about half an hour before just turning it off—it’s honestly terrible. The dialogue is painful. Even Christian Bale and Margot Robbie can't save this one. And don't even get me started on John David Washington and Taylor Swift; they were a total disaster. I haven't seen acting this bad since I was obsessed with those old movies like MegaCroc vs. MegaShark.
Is it even worth sticking with this, or should I just switch over to something better?
I wasn't sure what to watch last night, so I figured I'd give the new Pinocchio a shot—bad move. It’s not completely unwatchable, but honestly, you're better off just sticking to the animated classic. This version doesn't really bring anything new to the table; whatever it tries to add feels pretty pointless.
The biggest issue, though, has to be the casting. I mean, where did they find that eyesore playing the blue fairy? Then you've got the teacher and the townspeople being Black—in 19th-century America? 🤦 And Tom Hanks was a huge miss for me. I love the guy, but I just can't picture him playing an old man like Geppetto. Plus, the accents are all over the place—some people sound British, some have an Italian vibe, and then there's Hanks's weird mix of everything.
Visually, it looks great, but maybe it relies a bit too heavily on CGI—did Figaro really need to be computer-generated? 4/10

I'm with you there. The whole thing was a slog—movie and actor included. I mean, he isn't bad, but clearly I'm blind if I'm supposed to be seeing "phenomenal" acting here.
Grace Edwards said:I don't know, the whole thing with Leguizam and that agent—whatever her deal is—hardly feels like it earns them a death scene. So, the agent deserves to die just because Brown didn't pay off her student loans? Give me a break. Maybe the woman actually earned a scholarship through pure talent 🤦
It’s honestly such a bummer that Radcliffe didn't step in to take over for Leguizam. The internet would have absolutely lost its mind with all the memes 😬
That's his agent? Honestly, I thought she was just some young gold digger. I don't know—personally, I felt he deserved it for being so arrogant, and she deserved it for being greedy (assuming she was a sponsor, which is how I first took it).
Just watched this and all I can say is—wow. It’s pretty rare for me to be genuinely blown away by a movie lately, but this one really hit the mark. No hesitation from me on giving it a 10/10. I’m officially adding it to my Billboard Top 10 of the year—which isn't saying much since my standards for making a list like this have gotten way higher lately.
From what I can see, the movie was a total financial flop—they lost nearly $100 million at the box office. Even the reviews aren't great; the IMDb score is barely scraping a 6. That's just a shame, especially considering the subject matter and the cast we had here.
Just watched this and honestly, I wouldn't recommend it. It really shouldn't have hit the two-hour mark—they stretched out certain scenes way too much. There are some solid, tense moments in there, but they’re definitely the exception rather than the rule. Also, Pinhead looks almost feminine until he actually speaks, and none of the other members of the monastery can even come close to looking as good as the ones from the original. Višnjić was great, though—might actually be the performance of his life 😬 4/10
The whole system was basically modeled by the Republican Party, so it’s really just a reflection of them. I guess as long as the Republican Party is in power, things will probably stay exactly this way.
Look, the Republican Party didn't even exist before the 90s, so corruption was always there. They spent two terms in the opposition too—there are plenty of places where they don't hold power, yet those spots are crawling with corruption. Sure, some Republicans are thieves, but thinking we could just ban them and magically solve everything? That’s just wishful thinking and honestly, pretty naive.
Anyway, good on Joe for finally getting rid of that guy. 👍
I don't even need to see the trailer. The second I spot "Ariel," I already know this movie is going to be a mess. If you're so hell-bent on forcing a diversity cast, then fine—just have them voice Sebastian or the seagull instead of changing a redheaded Ariel. 🤦

The only thing was knowing who would make it out alive at the end. Though even that wasn't a total certainty...
But honestly, we've seen that trope a million times—from Sixth Sense and Others with Nicole Kidman to all those random indie flicks.
Just finished watching it. It’s an okay watch, but honestly—that's about it. It’s predictable from start to finish, just hitting those same clichés you've seen a thousand times before. There's also some questionable logic and just plain stupidity here and there—like the drone being up in the air one second and then tucked in a backpack the next, or that hair tie being wrapped around a phone they tossed off a tower only to be used again later. That said, the actresses are absolutely killer. 6/10

LATEST FROM THE NEW YORK CITY SUBWAY: The MTA is currently testing a new passenger information display system, with plans to roll out fifty units by year's end.
I don't really get why we need these screens when everyone has a smartphone and an app to check everything anyway. Seems like a total waste of money.
