Wait, didn't he beat her? I actually heard it was much worse—that he killed her and ended up in prison. Total disaster. Honestly, I wasn't a huge fan to begin with, but I have to admit, "Le vent nous portera" is a great track.
Honestly, if it weren't for Depp, that movie would have been an absolute disaster. As it stands, it's a great film—personally, it's my favorite Depp role. The same goes for Once Upon a Time in Mexico. Without Depp, those movies would be nothing.
I just watched the trailer... and it looks promising. We’ve got that twisted Depp energy back, and the darker aesthetic is definitely there—that's half the battle won right there. I really just hope this doesn't turn into another sentimental family drama like Big Fish. It needs some edge; it needs that gothic soul. It honestly feels like a waste to see Burton spend his talent on these overly bright, colorful little movies.
I don't know much about it myself yet; I really need to sit down and read the book first. Apparently, it's an excellent nutrition system. Everyone in that linked thread seems focused solely on weight loss, but I assume there are other benefits to nutrition in zone besides just dropping pounds.
How much does nutrition in zone actually boost your energy levels—enough to let you sleep less while getting more work or studying done? Is the difference really that noticeable?
I ran into a buddy of mine who’s currently living the zone lifestyle, and he was telling me it's hands down the best thing he's ever tried. He claims he’s getting by on just four hours of sleep, yet he's bursting with energy—learning faster, working better, and crushing his workouts. His only gripe is that sometimes he just can't be bothered to cook his own meals, but he insists it's absolutely worth the effort. Since I've had this book sitting on my shelf for ages, and since I won't have much else going on this summer besides studying all day, I figured it's the perfect time to see if all this hype is actually legit. Has anyone here actually tried living the zone way? What has your experience been like?
NLP courses usually run anywhere from $1,000 to $1,500, so I’m a bit skeptical about this being totally free... I’ve always been wary of "free" stuff on the internet. That said, I went ahead and signed up anyway.😁
What’s wrong with calling them the 'Russian Tom Waits'? 😕 When I first heard them, I honestly thought Tom Waits was singing in Russian. It’s brilliant marketing—if they had just been billed as some "Russian act heavily influenced by Tom Waits," they wouldn't have grabbed half the attention they did.
I honestly don't know where people find these spots to park right in the middle of the street. I mostly get around town on my bike, so parked cars don't really get in my way.
If Americans actually started thinking that scratching a car with a key was a better solution than calling the police, things would change overnight. Maybe then the cops would actually take these calls seriously. Right now, we’re just stuck.

It’s just a completely different way of perceiving things. Me: "Watch out, you're going to scrape the side mirror." Her: "I won't." Me: "Seriously, watch it." Her: "Why do you always have to critique my driving? I'm not going to hit anything." ...and then she scrapes the mirror... Her: "Oh, whatever, it's just a scratch." Me: "Are you kidding me right now?" Her: "This is actually your fault." Me: 😁

Just call 911 if they aren't around. It’s free. Look, if one little rule violation bothers you enough that you're ready to break another one just to get even, please—just make the call and let an actual officer handle it. Don't be a vigilante. There is a specific kind of gut-wrenching feeling you get when you see a car keyed by a stranger; it's indescribable. You women just don't get it. 😁 It's like being slapped in front of a hundred people and feeling like you can't slap them back. That's the vibe.
northerntrucker42, you’re basically the guardian angel of parking spots. Look, if it bothers you that much, why not just grab an officer by the sleeve? If scratching people's cars is your way of protesting, maybe rethink that. Thank God there are actual fines for illegal parking that go up to $267.
