@jesus5: You can always deliver the same message through a different channel that doesn't involve getting flagged or sanctioned. And honestly, please—let's try to avoid going off-topic or debating with the moderators in sections that aren't meant for that kind of thing. If you’re feeling confused about anything, just shoot me a private message or head over to the General Discussion subforum.

I don't really see it as though because of the fact that they’re hitting the books, pursuing hobbies, or getting into relationships and marriage that people are struggling. It isn't that simple—there are those (and I'll make an exception for you here) who just drift through life doing absolutely nothing, and naturally, they feel miserable. Then, on the flip side, you have the folks who follow the playbook perfectly and everything seems to click for them.
🤷

Wait, so you aren't even looking for anything—you're just here to brag?

If that’s what you’re asking, I honestly don't see how my slip-up today serves as an example for a situation like that.
I've truly said everything I have to say on the matter.

It honestly feels to me like you’re becoming a huge fan of that idea😬

Laura Mendoza2 said:Why don't you try explaining to me how I was supposed to interpret her saying "oh, snap😳" right after she said "Marty for," especially since you quoted it followed by the question "who? 😬".

And why didn't you just ask me to explain it to you?
You just brushed off Nicholas King a moment ago because he was trying to speak for me.

So, here it is—even though nobody actually asked me—that comment, as far as being an attempt at humor goes, was really aimed more at Nicholas King, since he was the one referencing that specific part of my long-winded post. Because of the smiley face, I honestly thought she was teasing me rather than giving me a warning—if I had realized that, I would have edited it. Also, like I mentioned earlier, since I don't spend my life reading every single random thread on Reddit, I figured it was just common knowledge that you have an alt account. I truly didn't see it as some kind of social blunder, mostly because of your avatar. If you wanted to distance yourself from the chosen few, you could have just sent some PMs🤷

That whole yard analogy you used? It totally missed the mark.

Laura Mendoza2 said:I just don't have that sense of trust—you know? I don't feel like I'm in a space where I can actually relax. Whether it happens on purpose or just by accident, through a slip of the tongue or a total blunder, it's the same thing. Like I said, I'd love for things to be comfortable, but they just aren't.

It really saddens me to hear that you're feeling this way on Reddit. But look, as a moderator, I can't take responsibility for your personal feelings. The only thing I am responsible for is my own lapse in judgment while I was moderating—I messed up, I apologized, and that's that. Honestly, I’m at a loss as to what else I could possibly do as a mod to make you feel "safer" here; I genuinely don't know. I assumed that since you were the one who started this thread, you actually had some constructive feedback to offer.

Laura Mendoza2 said:They wouldn't have even seen it since I didn't report the post.

edit: ah, you mean they just weren't reading the thread, okay.

The thing that really gets to me about this whole situation is that this isn't coming from some random user—it’s coming from someone who is supposedly "vetted," "trusted," and all that. Someone who actually has access to my other data, stuff an average Reddit user wouldn't even be able to see.
If I wanted that info out there, it would be available to everyone. But clearly, I don't want it to be.

And I think anyone would understand if I said that I just don't feel comfortable with people being so reckless and careless with my information just because—well, just because they can.
How am I supposed to know if it was motivated by one thing or another? (And honestly, especially since that same moderator recently called me someone of lower intellectual capacity or something like that on another thread—the first thing that comes to mind is that it wasn't an accident), I just know that I don't expect this kind of behavior from the very people who are supposed to be watching for these things and—when they actually notice them—sanctioning them.

"Just because they can"? Excuse me, what??? Every single registered user on this site *can* leak your private info, because the data used for this leaking is right there next to every single one of your posts.

As for the point you made in the second half of your post, you were more than free to report it.

Also, since it seems like you aren't willing to address me directly and instead keep speaking in the third person on this thread, I'm logging off. I'll deal with the consequences according to the rules, even if those rules involve removing the moderation team.

Laura Mendoza2 said:First off, we aren't talking about just any random user here—we’re talking about a moderator. And in this specific situation, that distinction changes everything. At the very least, I think we can all agree on one thing—to paraphrase a bit: what’s allowed for an average person simply doesn't apply to Jupiter. 😉

Look, let's be clear about this—we're talking about a forum regular who went straight to posting on a PDF that isn't even moderated, and she did it in bold, black letters, staying strictly on topic.

Secondly—and I really mean this—the whole concept of the "burden of exercising a right" should be exactly what it sounds like: it should be mine, and mine alone.
It’s not yours, it doesn't belong to some other user on Reddit, and it certainly isn't the property of some moderator either.
Mine.
It’s my right—and honestly, it should stay strictly mine—to decide exactly when and where I feel comfortable opening up about myself to the world. I mean, if I’m going to share something personal online, it needs to happen on my own terms, in a space that actually feels right for that kind of conversation.
The decision regarding exactly how much I share—and more importantly, the way I choose to reveal it—is mine and mine alone.
And so on.
I think we’re on the same page here.
I don't see any issue with any of this—honestly, nothing about it bothers me at all. 🤷

Regarding your assumption about whether that was just some coincidence—don't take this the wrong way—but they aren't talking to you, or anyone else for that matter, except for the specific person who actually pulled it off.
I sent her a DM—which, by the way, you completely dodged—to clear the air. Honestly, I just reached out to apologize because, looking back, I really wasn't thinking clearly. This whole thread has been such a massive, drawn-out thing that I actually lost track of the conversation for a bit; I thought I was just quoting Rocket’s post, skimmed through the rest of the discussion, and hit reply. There was absolutely no sarcasm intended in what I wrote.
If what I’ve done here actually warrants a sanction, then I’ll leave it up to the Reddit mods and admins to make the call—and honestly, if they decide to hand out a punishment, let them. I’ll take it. I really should have thought this through more carefully before posting, and I definitely should have kept a better eye on things.

Your take, my take, and whatever Petrov or Markov have to say—it’s all just guesswork at this point. Personally, though—and this is just my two cents—I don't buy the "coincidence" angle for a second. I honestly can't see how this could possibly be anything other than intentional. Especially since the whole conversation kept going, specifically because they responded directly to your question instead of letting it drop.
I’ve been away from Reddit for a few days, so I haven't really caught up on all the debates regarding ZK—but I did notice Nicholas King added a smiley after his question. Honestly, seeing that made me wonder if your alter ego is actually common knowledge around here, especially since the avatars look so similar. I've noticed some other women on the forums get called by their old handles all the time, so I thought maybe that was happening with you too—though, to be fair, I only realized we weren't talking about the exact same username once I actually looked closer. If I had noticed Laura Mendoza2 next to the avatar right away, believe me, I would have mentioned it. It was purely accidental; I learned a long time ago that it’s probably best not to mess with you.

Thirdly, do you actually think that’s okay?
Look, honestly—it isn't. So, what's your actual plan here?

Christian Walker3 said:Can someone please just break down what schizophrenia actually is for me? Like, is it really just hearing voices in your head and seeing things that aren't there? Every single time I try to look this stuff up online, I get hit with a different explanation, and honestly, it’s just super confusing...

That’s mainly because the spectrum of symptoms is incredibly broad and varied 🙂

What you're describing—those visual and auditory hallucinations—falls under what clinicians call "positive symptoms."

Look, rather than just guessing, I'll pull some actual info for you:

Schizophrenia symptoms are generally categorized into two groups: positive and negative.
Positive symptoms include delusions, thought disturbances, hallucinations, and unusual behaviors. Delusions are false beliefs or convictions held despite evidence to the contrary—basically, they aren't rooted in reality and can't be corrected by logic. For instance, a person might believe a neighbor is stalking them to exert control over their life. A patient might also experience various thought disorders: sometimes their thoughts jump rapidly from one idea to another without any logical connection, or they might experience "thought blocking"; some patients may invent nonsensical words or substitute words in speech with similar-sounding ones or rhymes. They might also hear voices (auditory hallucinations) that comment on their actions, mock them, or give them commands (command hallucinations).
Negative symptoms involve a loss of emotional expression and responsiveness, a lack of energy, willpower, or initiative, an inability to feel pleasure or interest in previously enjoyed activities, and difficulty concentrating.
A person living with schizophrenia may become emotionally withdrawn from those around them, struggle to recognize the feelings of others, find it difficult to express their own emotions, avoid eye contact, or maintain a flat, indifferent facial expression.

jadewolf16 said:As for that other guy—honestly, speaking from my own experience—people who were "sexualized" early on actually tend to have way better sex lives, more stable families, and just a generally higher quality of life compared to us folks who were a bit behind the curve. So, I really don't see any reason why we should be trying to "rehabilitate" them or anything like that!

Look, you can speak for yourself based on what you've lived through, but personal experience doesn't justify making broad generalizations about entire groups of people like "those who..."🙂

5. is honestly perfect for me—it’s great for just listening, but it also serves as this solid backdrop when I’m deep in thought or doing some serious intellectual heavy lifting.
9. is just as good when I need to focus or put in some mental effort; it isn't grating or distracting like those energy drinks 😁

6. is usually wonderful, but if I'm being honest, it just doesn't quite hit the mark for me when I'm trying to study.

First off, even if we don't call it "medical advice," we absolutely do not permit any kind of encouragement regarding drug abuse or the use of illegal psychoactive substances here.
Second, psychotropic medications aren't something you just start or stop whenever you feel like it—that’s a conversation you have with your doctor. Because of that, any posts on this forum encouraging people to quit their medication cold turkey will be deleted. That said, you are more than welcome to share your personal experiences with specific psychiatric meds, but if you want to talk about recreational drugs, we have a separate thread specifically for that (please make sure you read the community guidelines first!). Thanks for understanding.

Just so we're clear—Normabel is strictly prescription-only.
Come on, let's just pretend you aren't trolling here 🙂
The relationship between a client and a therapist isn't love—it’s not a romantic connection, it isn't a friendship, and it certainly isn't a parental bond. Sure, that dynamic requires trust, but it doesn't involve that kind of limitless, unconditional love.

is that going too far? 😛

electricsurfer4 said:So, I was wondering—could anyone possibly lend us a hand here?

The best bet for real help would be talking to a professional—specifically, a psychiatrist.
hiddenwalker30 said:I expect my psychiatrist to provide some actual direction, yet my doctor certainly isn't doing that. We sit there for thirty minutes, both of us just counting down the seconds until she can finally close the file on my case and I can walk out of her office.🙄

Look, there’s a massive distinction between seeing a psychotherapist for actual treatment and just going to a specialist for a routine checkup—they aren't even in the same ballpark. One is about deep, transformative work, while the other is just a standard clinical assessment.
