Complaint against moderator Taylor Swift - The Notebook in Feedback & Suggestions ·
At the FBI, we’re scrubbing all those signature posts, smiley face replies, and any fluff that just clutters the thread without adding anything useful.

one lol, and two "nice job" posts
all incredibly constructive contributions that really leveled up the quality of this forum
🙂
I guess I'm just not seeing what the issue is here?

Honestly, most people would probably delete those "lol" and "nice job" posts too.
90s Dance Music Megathread in Feedback & Suggestions ·
It seems like none of the moderators have actually answered the question regarding what criteria they use to decide whether to delete a thread versus just moving or locking it.
I’m speaking generally here; this specific thread isn't really the point.

I’m honestly curious what was so scandalous about that thread over in the Ladies' Lounge—the one where we were just reminiscing about old dance hits—that it had to be nuked from the forum.
Is it suddenly against the rules to post YouTube links? I highly doubt it, since everyone here links to YouTube constantly without anyone batting an eye.

So, apparently, the topic wasn't "appropriate" for the Ladies' Lounge? Well, why not just move it over to the General Discussion board or some other subforum? I'm sure there’s a place where it would fit just fine.

Could someone please explain? Thanks.

Just a flow of pure passion here: Ambeon (progressive metal) and Ayreon (heavy metal & progressive rock) 🙏

You’re 22 and you don't even know when your fertile window is? 😲

I guess unknown would probably just dump a bunch of links on you and tell you to use Google next time 😁 but I honestly can't be bothered 😬

Jesus, please don't go having sex until you actually learn the basics about how your own body works. And seriously, start tracking your cycle.

Theresa, I really hope you won't start panicking like this after every single time you have sex.🤣

I assume you actually understand how ovulation works and when conception is even possible?😉
Don't wash your hair during your period?!? WTF in Women's Health ·
Jessica Cox89 said:That’s just nonsense... I wash my hair and dye it regardless of whether I’m on my period or not... I wait two days to shower because the flow is a bit lighter then... but it’s not like you can’t bathe... unless it's so heavy that you can't spend hours in the shower splashing around in red water because then how would you even wipe off...

How exactly are you supposed to wipe off? 😂
It isn't like there's a constant stream of blood without any breaks where you can't wipe yourself without ruining your towel.
And why wait two days to shower? 😕A shower isn't going to hurt you. It's not like you have to go wading around in a bathtub.

On a bright, sunny day, every single hair stands out—especially if you're a blonde.
If you think it might be a hormonal issue, I guess it would be best to see an OB-GYN and get some blood work done to figure out what's actually going on 🙂
You can just go by yourself; you don't exactly need your parents there.

And again, vegetables are packed with vitamins and minerals, so if you follow that logic, you'd just eat them with the veggies, leaving nothing but plain meat for the actual meal, which is kind of pointless.

I didn't really take it to mean the amount of vitamins and minerals in a food, but rather how digestible it is. Though, I guess isn't vegetable pretty easy to digest too?

But like I said, bioavailability is one thing, while what she mentioned about vitamins breaking down is something else entirely.

That's how it seems to me, anyway.

It would be nice if someone who actually knows the science could explain this. 🙂

Ethan Garcia8 said:Fair point. But getting your glucose spike from junk food like bread is a whole different story. 🙂

On another note, do you think vitamins break down if you take them with food? And how long does it take from the moment you ingest them until they break down? Also, why would they break down in the body if they don't break down in things like oil or vegetables? 🙂

That first sentence is a bit confusing to me. What do you mean about taking them with food? 😕 I mean, vitamins are literally in food. 😁 How else would we consume them, unless we're reaching for pills? 😉

If you're talking about that part where Starfaker mentioned eating fruit before lunch rather than after—I've heard that too. The idea is that fruit digests faster and easier, so you should eat it before something like meat so the nutrients, including vitamins, are more bioavailable. Though, I assume you don't just eat fruit and immediately dive into lunch; maybe leave a little gap, like thirty minutes to an hour? I mean, how long does meat take to digest? A few hours? Definitely longer than fruit. That seems to be the logic. But I'm not making any definitive claims here; this isn't really my field.

And why would they break down in the body if they don't break down in, say, oil or vegetables?

Enzymatic reactions? 😕

Emily Hayes said:Honestly, my gut feeling just tells me that bread isn't some absolute dietary necessity.🤷

I’ve always figured that anything "nutritious" you find in a loaf of bread can be easily replaced by much healthier food options.

That said, I’m definitely just a layman here, so maybe my logic doesn't quite hold up when talking to the actual experts.😁 😁 😁

Seems logical to me. Cutting out carbs entirely is bad, but skipping bread? Not so much. Then again, I'm no rd. What do I know. 🤷

Ethan Garcia8 said:Why should I back you? Honestly, my advice would be to stick to the literature coming out of America instead of relying on local professors—especially in those scientific fields where we just don't have any notable track record or results. 😁

Honestly, it’s been common knowledge in the States for at least a decade now that you shouldn't go overboard with fruit consumption, yet people here still act like eating fruit is some kind of controversial scandal. 🙂
Around here, when you head to your primary care doctor with a common cold or a sore throat, they just tell you to load up on honey, tea, and lemon. It’s honestly a bit much. 😵

So, Ethan Garcia8, whose literature do you think biochemistry is actually taught from? 😉

Dana Hughes5 said:Look, I get what you're saying about the cycle stuff, but we aren't talking about a little bit of clear fluid here. It is absolutely not okay for it to be thick and cottage-cheese-like, or for your uterus to feel completely stuffed with it, or for it to be leaving literal stains on your underwear. That's a whole different ballgame.

Well, if it’s like cottage cheese, then obviously it isn't normal. I mean, surely you know what we mean when we talk about normal discharge—nothing weird with the smell or color. Sure, maybe it gets thin and leaks onto your panties during certain days, but still.😛
mellowrider23 said:Just one more thing... what if there’s discharge even when you aren't having sex? What could be causing that? Does it mean what I'm experiencing is actually normal? 🙂

And haven't you noticed that discharge changes based on your cycle? I mean, what else would you expect—it’s totally normal. It's only a problem when it starts picking up an unusual smell or color.

I guess there isn't really anything to "care" about. If you had done it right, maybe you wouldn't have felt it at all.

Why is everyone making such a big deal out of this? Mine are heavy too, lasting about four or five days. Seems perfectly normal to me, I guess. Honestly, it would be weirder if my period was just some tiny little trickle.

I guess what Donat said isn't bad advice, but I don't think it’s a permanent fix. You really need to get things moving naturally, which means eating way more fiber. Maybe then you won't even need Donat anymore.
