Mark Thompson6 said:The point is, I went through something pretty similar with this moderator not too long ago (I can give you the full rundown if you're actually interested in the details). The whole reason this thread even exists—specifically the fact that she’s asking one user if they’re really insisting on getting another user banned—is just pure Monty Python nonsense. Honestly, it’s perfectly in line with her usual style.

It is your absolute right to complain if you feel like you've been wronged by a moderator or another user... my only issue is the way you handled it regarding shadowpilot8. I’m going to skip over the part where I explain why I think she’s actually a great moderator because that’s irrelevant here. I’m simply pointing out that calling someone out publicly by their username without providing any actual evidence or context is unfair and incredibly uncomfortable for them. If you think she made a mistake, call her out on the specific error. But do it properly. Using cheap shots like "facepalms" or "I don't know who picked you to be a mod" is just pathetic and unjust.

I don't know what to tell you. It’s like watching a slow-motion train wreck where everyone is arguing about the color of the conductor's hat instead of jumping off the tracks. You see it all the time in these discussions—people getting bogged down in useless minutiae while the actual problem is staring them right in the face. It's frustrating, honestly. It's like trying to explain basic math to someone who refuses to believe numbers exist. At some point, you just have to step back and realize that some people simply aren't interested in the truth; they're just interested in being right.

As for Oxazepam, it's actually very effective; I've spent a lot of time on the more well-known ones—you know, things like Xanax, Normabest, Helix, Misar, or Diazepam—especially Alprazolam, which I find to be incredibly addictive. So, Oxazepam fits my needs quite nicely, and it doesn't seem to have that same heavy pull that Xanax or Helix does

You’re the only one I can actually relate to when it comes to these drug reactions and emotional rollercoasters. It’s like we’ve been through the exact same meat grinder. 🙂

So, thanks for that comment. Really. 🙂 Looking at that list you provided, I’ve cycled through almost all of them at one point or another. Sometimes in small doses, sometimes heavy, sometimes solo, and sometimes mixed together—switching between different manufacturers along the way. Based on that roller coaster, I can say with total confidence that Oxazepam is currently the only thing that actually works for me. It’s the only thing that settles my nerves and puts me to sleep. But honestly? The way my tolerance for it is skyrocketing is terrifying. Over nearly twenty years, I’ve built up resistance to just about every psych med and pharmaceutical out there, but I have rarely seen it happen this fast. With Oxazepam, it's like a vertical climb. My required dose is jumping by 60 to 90 mg a day! I’m already sitting at 90 mg as my prescription, and then I still have to add another three or four pills on top of that just to feel anything. And even then, the effect only lasts a few hours. It's a losing battle.

I am absolutely not feeling this. I get that tolerance builds up, sure, but this? This level of escalation is happening way too fast. It’s just... too much, too soon.

Mark Thompson6 said:It wouldn't hurt to actually read this entire thread from start to finish. Then maybe you'd understand who we're talking about and what the actual issue is.

Look, I *did* read the whole thread from top to bottom, but this isn't some isolated incident. That's why I'm asking. People are out here making wild claims like, "I know five moderators who personally know five other mods using invalid emails," or "Nobody ever responds to reports." It's a pattern.

What part of this don't you get?
How can there be moderators whose management style is nothing short of a tragicomedy?

I don't see what your problem is here. This is just another mindless post attacking shadowpilot8 without providing a single shred of evidence or a concrete example.

😁 😘

Look, personally, I actually like you. Seriously. 🙂 It’s just a shame that so much drama and useless noise gets dragged into this when it's something that could easily be avoided. It’s like a snowball effect... it starts because you annoyed someone, then people start bickering on Reddit... then a few more people notice... the cycle repeats... and suddenly, you get threads like this. The stuff you copy-paste actually has the potential to spark a high-quality discussion. They really do. The only thing missing from the whole equation is two, three, five, or seven sentences of your own regarding the topic... your actual opinion... the reasons why you even noticed the article and decided to share it in the first place. It doesn't need to be a 5,000-page dissertation. A brief introductory comment is plenty. If a text clearly cites its source and you provide a short or long commentary, nobody—and I mean absolutely nobody, no matter how much it irritates them—can stop you from participating in forum communication that way. In fact, they shouldn't, they have no reason to, and stubbornly complaining about it wouldn't be seen as a constructive critique; it would just look like personal antipathy. And that doesn't fly here.

I'm certain you posted every single article here precisely because you formed an opinion on it. Put that opinion in the post. If not for any other reason, do it so the debate can head toward your views and stances, rather than just being about whoever wrote the article. Let him promote his own work. 😉

Daniel Ward87 said:Just tell me which Moderator we're talking about, and then we can actually get down to business.

Honestly, I’m just as invested in this as everyone else. This isn't some one-off complaint; we’ve been seeing this exact same issue resurface for weeks now. I know quite a few of the moderators personally, and none of them would ever dream of ignoring a report or using a fake email address to dodge responsibility. Reporting posts is how we survive. It’s our lifeline. I don't see any logical reason why these reports should be ignored, and frankly, I think letting this slide is incredibly toxic for the moderation teams across all these subreddits. If users lose faith that their feedback actually matters, they’re going to stop trying altogether. And that’s when we really lose. We lose that vital helping hand. On high-traffic forums like this, we can't be everywhere at once. If we don't act on reports immediately, dozens of threads will end up "polluted" or spiraling in the wrong direction long before we even realize there was a problem. Speed matters.

I’m going to say this one more time: after nearly eight years of moderating, I have never once encountered anyone who actually ignores reports. Look, I’m not claiming that it’s impossible for things to slip through the cracks, but if people are so dead set on insisting that we’re ignoring them, then they need to step up. Show us a specific report. Give us a name, a location, a timestamp, or a direct link. Anything else is just hearsay. Without hard evidence, it’s nothing more than gossip, rumors, or pure paranoia—even if there is a legitimate suspicion that something is actually happening. If you don't provide proof, the admins can't do a single thing to help us. We can't act on vibes and "feelings."

Mark Thompson6 said:Oh, shadowpilot8...

I’d really love to know what kind of criteria they used to decide that woman should be a Moderator.
Or better yet, what kind of criteria are they even using to justify keeping that woman in charge of moderation?

"If you're really going to insist, I'll hand out the penalty..." 🤦

So, what's the actual point you're trying to make here? 🙄

Short lines, little sense. A waste of perfectly good ink. Get to the point, man.

Oh, for the love of everything holy, here we go again?! Yeah, we get it! Larry Walker24, you live for copy-pasting, and ironscout56, you’re obsessed with FOX. Both are irritating enough on their own without you two picking fights in every single thread. 😁

In all seriousness:

Larry Walker24:

I honestly don't know how many more people have to explain to you exactly what the issue is with your constant copy-pasting. Tell me, which part of this isn't clicking? Let's hammer it out right now so we can settle this once and for all. It genuinely hurts my soul to see you racking up such a massive pile of useless fluff.

ironscout56:

At least every other Wednesday, you can step away from the altar of FOX.

To both of you:

Nobody is denying that you’re decent people or active members here, and it's clear you're passionate about your opinions. People aren't annoyed by who you are or what you believe... they're annoyed by the endless repetition of the exact same thing over and over. Is it really necessary for the entire forum to recognize your usernames and immediately assume you only have one mode: either copy-paste or "FOX is the best." Personally, I think you're capable of much more. So prove it. Show us.

For the last three months, I've been on Oxazepam at 3*30 mg daily. I was thrilled when I started! It relaxed me and knocked me out instantly—something even a handful of narcotics couldn't manage, let alone a tiny 10 or 30 mg Oxy. I’m still a supporter of Oxazepam, but the rapid rise in tolerance is terrifying. Within a week, I jumped from 10 mg to 180 mg just to get some sleep. Has anyone else dealt with this? Also, how does Oxazepam compare to Helix 0.25?

Unfortunately, those are all just decoys. For sleep, Seroquel or Quetiapine is often prescribed. That is an AP, light, and clean option with excellent hypnotic effects.

Oh! Thanks! 🙂

To be honest, I haven't even heard of that Quetiapine type before (and god help my friends and family, because I have this obsession with learning about every new pill out there 😬 ), but it sounds interesting..

I actually like Oxazepam too, but there is absolutely no point in me stuffing 180-210 mg into my system just to get four measly hours of sleep. A normal person would probably walk it off without a second thought, but me? I’m over here face-planting into the carpet and hallucinating lasagna.. 🙄

fadedbear92 said:I end up taking various sleep aids... after Effexor completely wrecked me and left me unable to sleep properly for a month. I tried every hypnotic under the sun, but nothing worked. That's when my doctor prescribed Tegretol—it's an anti-epileptic they use in psychiatry as a mood stabilizer and for sleep...

Oh, I remember it. It feels like it happened just this morning. 😁

Look, I associate those sedatives and Tegretol with some pretty dark times I'd rather forget. I’m really hoping that with the help of Heparin, I won't have to rely on those two anymore... though that doesn't mean I'm not sitting there at 5, 6, or 7 AM cursing the fact that I don't have any heavy-duty "knockout" pills like sedatives or Clozaril on hand. You know that feeling? When you can't sleep, but you can't stay awake either? Your head is buzzing, your body is tense, you're shivering one second and sweating the next, and your head is just pulsing. Then the anxiety and panic set in because you *can't* drift off, and all you have left is pure adrenaline keeping you wired... which, by the way, is a VERY, VERY unpleasant sensation. When that darkness hits you all at once... man, it's chilling.

Peter Wilson2 said:Is there actually anyone out there who feels like Velafax actually did them a favor?

It was a total disaster for me. And I say that from personal experience—mostly because of a "famous" little mistake where I combined it with just one single Advil, and I nearly ended up in a psychiatric ward for it.

I’ve had a box sitting in my cabinet for months, but there's exactly one pill missing from it... I wouldn't dare put this stuff in my mouth again, even in an absolute emergency. Now, is Effexor truly to blame, or is this just my own skewed perception or some sudden allergy to Advil? I have no clue. All I know is that during the entire time I was on Effexor, I dealt with nothing but bizarre side effects. Not a single one of them actually helped my anxiety, depression, or panic disorder. To me, this drug is temperamental, toxic, and completely unpredictable.

While we're on the subject:

For the last three months, I've been on Oxazepam at 30 mg, three times a day. When I first started, I was thrilled! It knocked me out and relaxed me instantly. That’s a feat even heavy narcotics struggle to achieve, let alone a tiny 10 or 30 mg dose of Oxazepam. I’m still a huge advocate for Oxazepam, but the speed at which tolerance builds is terrifying! In just one week, I went from needing 10 mg to needing 180 mg just to fall asleep! Has anyone else gone through this? And how does Oxazepam stack up against Helix 0.25?

Fine, whatever, thanks. 😁

It doesn't matter. If you file a report and clearly state that he's trolling from bad faith to total chaos, the mods will clean up their own section, check his posting history, and then pass the word along to the other relevant mods—or take it straight to the admin board to demand a real response. 🙂

And this whole reporting system is a total joke when every single moderator I know uses an invalid email address for reports. I've had five different moderators confirm this, and honestly, I’ve seen plenty of times where people can straight-up insult someone's mother after being reported without facing any consequences at all. But hey, let's stay on track.

🙂

Fine then, I guess I'll just change my email to suckityall@outofoffice.com since clearly, the logic here is just top-tier... 😁
The ultimate fix for moderator burnout and constant posting issues in Feedback & Suggestions ·
This is easily one of the absolute worst ideas I’ve encountered in my eight years on this forum (though I’m willing to give the OP the benefit of the doubt regarding their intentions). It’s almost too easy to sit back and map out all the ways this could go horribly wrong.
Andrew Lopez10, if there’s any merit to what you’re saying—I get you. Dealing with mental health issues is hard enough on its own. But dealing with that, plus carrying this crushing weight of guilt because you feel like you have no excuse? That’s a double whammy. Međutoa, there is *always* a reason. Even if it's just bad genetics. If it isn't obvious DNA, then it's some distant branch of your family tree. Add in a bit of circumstance, some mistakes made during your upbringing, a heavy dose of pure bad luck, and maybe even a dash of McCormick. 🙂

Here’s the bottom line: the "why" matters far less than you think, even if we can't fully wrap our heads around it. At least, not when you're trying to kickstart recovery. That's where people trip up. You've realized there's a problem. Great. Now the next move is seeking help. Once you hand the reins over to a professional, they'll guide you through the healing process, and somewhere along the way, the root cause will reveal itself. You’ll eventually confront that motherfucker, and things will finally click. But to get to that point, you have to start helping yourself. That's the whole point. You can't change the starting line, so stop obsessing over it. Stop staring in the rearview mirror—stare through the windshield. 😉
