shadowpilot8 said:The forum automatically sends a notification when your inbox is ALMOST full.
It assumes you'll act on it, so once it's actually full, there's no notification sent.

I don't know if this is some kind of joke, but it doesn't make any sense. Why would the forum notify me when it's almost full, but say nothing once it's actually at capacity? 😕 I guess an inbox that's full had to be "almost full" at some point.🙄 It didn't just max out overnight.

Who decided an email address actually needs to include a first and last name? 😕
At least you can have as many addresses as you want.

But my inbox wasn't even full, and nobody tried messaging me. So I'm honestly confused by that notification: how, why, and from whom?🤷😕 As for having multiple email addresses... I suppose I just don't see the need.🤷

redmarlin3 said:The vBulletin software is set up to auto-send emails once the inbox hits capacity. That doesn't necessarily mean the moderators can see your email address, though.

But I got that notification when my inbox was nearly full. I think I still had room for maybe 6 or 7 more messages. Then the other day, it hit the limit completely and vBulletin didn't send anything automatically. My inbox was totally maxed out and I never received an alert.🤷
In the first instance, I figured someone just sent me too many messages at once and they were stuck. But after I cleared some space, nothing arrived.
I suppose it's unclear how that, as you put it, automatic response could have been missed. 😕
And if that first one wasn't automated, I guess it makes you wonder who actually sends those emails.

The memorial thread for the anniversary of the battle in Vukovar—which used to exist for the expatriates too—was moved and then deleted. We used to bump that topic every single year, and it didn't really spark much political debate anyway. But this year, now that Kiki is running things, someone started the thread in the morning and by lunchtime it was gone. Just moved and wiped out. I guess. ☕ I guess people are saying he doesn't belong there. Maybe.

Regarding that whole discussion about New York City... I guess it was only started to stir the pot. Maybe just pure provocation.
The thread starter didn't really ask anything specific, I guess. Honestly, she could have found all her answers in the existing NYC discussion within the tourism PDF. After just two rather trivial posts, she went quiet. She didn't get any meaningful responses either—not even from Kate Doyle2, who spent New Year's Eve there and was clearly thrilled. I suppose she just couldn't be bothered to describe the vibe or that "heavenly" atmosphere. Most people just used it as an excuse to indulge in a bit of nostalgia...
This thread has become a playground for those suspicious types with questionable roots. They’ve finally found a way to smear everything that isn't their own brand—disguising it all under some old-school, bitter tradition—without facing any consequences, unlike what you'd see in a mainstream paper like the New York Post. Honestly, they’re just making a complete mess of things here.
And anyone who stands in their way... well, they'll deal with the consequences, I guess. Maybe they got penalized. I guess. Maybe some kind of communist school. I guess.
Posts are either being deleted or archived. I guess those posts written by people who don't even belong here—the ones that actually follow the title's lead—might actually get rewarded. Maybe.

As long as there's a diaspora topic about NYC on the horizon, I guess we aren't going back there.

Thanks for listening.

It’s interesting how often this issue pops up on the forum. I haven't really seen anyone complain about the exact opposite here. It seems like the moderator training regarding strictness only ever goes one way, I guess.😉

Brian Edwards6 said:Why wouldn't it work? Anyone can sign up. I guess that says more about us than the site itself. There was even a thread where people stated their religion. It seems most users identified as Catholic or Christian... yet most of us don't list a religion in our profile. How does that happen? Maybe it's because fanatics from all walks of life just get under our skin.🤷

The majority can't be Catholic in real life and then suddenly atheist on a forum. Not by accident, anyway. And as for why most of us skip the religion field? One reason is exactly what I'm getting at. People probably don't want to write it on a platform where Catholics get insulted so much. I think there have been plenty of complaints about that here already.

And regarding the supposed privilege of the majority faith? Like, having access to taxpayer funds, displaying symbols in public buildings, or dedicating government offices? That sort of thing?🤷

We're talking about privilege on this forum.

Attacks? Isn't that just what a discussion is? Or are we supposed to only post on threads if we actually agree with everyone else?🤷
Someone might claim to have God on their lips, but if some random user's post on a public forum can shake them, maybe there’s an issue with their faith.👎

You're mixing apples and oranges again.

It actually caught me off guard when I got an email from Reddit a few months back saying my inbox was nearly full.😕 I didn't realize they even sent those. One day my inbox was completely maxed out and I never heard a word.🤷 Does anyone else get notifications sent to their personal email when their inbox is full? I don't mean these Reddit messages. I mean your actual email address—the one tied to your real name.🤷

I find my drive by picturing the end goal. Visualizing how everything turns out if I actually stick to the plan. It helps to remember it's all worth it—every little grind or sacrifice we make to stay on track. You don't need to be some superhero to pull it off.

Yeah, I’ve heard that’s the way to do it. I actually used that approach once before with certain things, and I guess it worked. 👍
Maybe I'll give it a shot. Hopefully I can get back to being normal.😁
How do I get started with these changes? in Psychology ·
Well, those sound like significant changes. Congrats.👍
As for what I'd change about myself? I suppose I'd aim for more organization, maybe some focus or concentration. And I definitely need to tackle the main issue we're all discussing here: procrastination.😠
It's late, and I'm writing this because I can't sleep. Insomnia has always been an issue for me. It leads to waking up later than I should. Then there's the rushing, forgetting things, being late, procrastinating, losing stuff... just constant stress. Basically, chaos.
And that’s a real problem. It's hard to make any progress when everything is in {{chaos}}.
So, that would be the change I'm looking for. Eliminating the chaos and finding some order.
This past year was pretty chaotic and stressful too. Actually, it was exhausting and just plain unpleasant. All of it, combined with the insomnia, is just draining. 🙂

Nice. So, were those just vague New Year's resolutions, like "I'll eat better from now on," or did you actually have some concrete plans in mind?

Honestly, I make my moves whenever I feel like it—regardless of what the calendar says—and frankly, they’re already working 🙂

Well, we'll see how you fare.
Are these actually changes for you, or just more of the same old routine...?😉

gentledrifter6 said:You know how it goes with New Year's approaching, where everyone starts claiming things are finally going to get better, and while I’m right there with them, it isn't really because of the calendar flip, but more because it feels like it's just time for a change...

I honestly want to overhaul myself both mentally and physically, and to be clear, I'm not dealing with any health issues or being overweight, but I really want to become more outgoing and get back to the kind of shape I used to be in...
Over the last few years, I've just let things slide. I spent some time drifting through life without much direction, and while I have about a thousand acquaintances, I don't actually have any true, close friends because I just haven't had the energy for it....
It's the same story with the gym, because I used to be pretty dedicated, but now I've put on a few extra pounds and I'm just not happy with how I look, yet every single time I try to start again, I end up quitting, because I can't seem to find that spark of motivation or even the basic desire to work on myself when I know deep down that I need to...

It almost feels like I'm a prisoner to my own body, wanting to improve but constantly giving up, and maybe I'm even subconsciously afraid of succeeding, so I wonder if anyone else here has dealt with this, and if so, how do you actually break free from those physical limitations?

Well? Anything new?😉
New Year's has arrived. 👍
I know "New Year's resolutions" sound cliché, but still...😁
Have you made any New Year's resolutions or mapped out a plan? Or better yet, actually started something?

gentledrifter6, I was looking at you, so go ahead and answer!🙂🙂🙂 😁

Brian Edwards6;24308134 said:If half the comments basically boil down to this being an atheist forum, then it means we Catholics are in the minority, right? Nothing stupid about that.🤷

If Catholics are the minority on Reddit, then something is clearly broken with this site. In the US, Catholics are the majority. So there isn't really this whole "being aware we're the minority" thing to accept as normal. I guess the moderators and admins should explain how it even happened—how Catholics ended up as the minority on Reddit.😉

In America, real people are actually the minority. Catholic Americans? I work in law enforcement and, trust me, being a Catholic American doesn't automatically make someone good. Of course, since we're the majority here, most of the idiots come from our own ranks.👍

Obviously, not all Catholic Americans are great people. There are good and bad everywhere. I don't have anything against people of other faiths or nationalities, but I do have an issue with injustice and privilege, regardless of what faith or nationality anyone claims.

Again, I am Catholic, so I can speak from experience regarding our faith. Islam is foreign to me, and whatever I do know about it isn't firsthand. So, I suppose it makes sense that I’m just rambling about something I actually understand, doesn't it?🤷

Your response doesn't really have anything to do with what I said.

Are you trying to say I'm attacking an angel because I'm on the side of the majority? Didn't you just say we American Catholics are the majority? If she's also an American Catholic (who are the majority), how am I on the side of the majority? I guess I must be part of the minority.🤔

Catholics are, for some reason, a forum minority. And atheists are the forum majority. You took the side of that majority. And joined in on the attacks.

Where did I say punishments were a Catholic invention? It’s pretty standard for any organized religion to have methods of harsh punishment at some point, especially when clashing with another organized religion. And like I said, Roman Catholicism is close to me, so it's easiest for me to talk about us. I'm not out here fighting some holy war; maybe we're just witnessing the blindness of one side. Either the majority side. Or the minority side, I don't know.🤷

You said: "a true Catholic woman."🙄
There is some "blindness" happening here, but maybe not the kind you're talking about.

Maybe you should take the Good Pope out of your signature. It doesn't really fit what you wrote above it.🤷

Yeah, right... That’s just how Catholics see things, I guess. As if other religions are infinitely tolerant and have never dealt with punishment. 🙄 Maybe try learning a bit about other faiths before claiming punishments are just some Catholic invention. 🙄

To forget, I suppose. Maybe. Man, oh man... I just can't. I guess I'll just be getting beaten over the head by Jesus Christ—who is God and full of grace, anyway—with that heavy iron Crucifix of Jesus. 🙄

Hey, Peter Stewart6.
If it’s even possible, I guess I'd prefer the punishment to be spiritual rather than physical. 🙂

That kind of forgiveness... it feels a bit extreme, I guess. Maybe just a little too much. 😁 It’s not exactly in the spirit of granting wishes. I guess if I get my way, an iron Crucifix of Jesus might just be driven straight through my skull; a three-pound weight that my poor head probably couldn't handle. 😍 If you could, maybe pray for me—just to honor the old ways—that I might receive some lighter penance. Something like 1,000 Hail Marys, I guess. I know them by heart. 🙂

Maybe it’s time to stop mocking Catholics and their faith.🙂
So why do you go out of your way to tear down the ones who actually support yours? Or I guess it’s just that we Catholics are expected to walk on eggshells around your sensitive feelings, while you don't feel the need to show us any of the same courtesy? 😉

Brian Edwards6 said:I read the discussions on Religion in the Vatican, but I don't participate. I realized long ago that no debate ever goes anywhere but sideways. That goes for both sides, I guess. But if you know you're in the minority, you probably should expect the attacks and the condescension. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right? Or maybe you're calling on a higher power for that too?🤷

It’s really just the difference between faith and addiction. Or maybe between faith and fanaticism. I guess a Christian fanatic is just as bad as any Muslim, Jewish, or even atheist fanatic.👎
Whatever happened to turning the other cheek? I guess that’s just as important as everything else you seem to love bringing up.🤷

No, you're the one telling others "no" because of their faith or beliefs. I guess that goes for most people when they talk about religion, too. They always hide behind science and all that, but only until the conversation shifts toward other faiths. Then, suddenly, they're foaming at the mouth. If someone holds a different view, let them. Spitting, insulting, or belittling others... it doesn't really matter anyway. Everything is recorded, and everyone eventually pays for what they've done, right? Or are we just going to lump us all together and let Him sort it out?🤷

I guess that's just how I write. Maybe I'm being too polite.👎

First you claim they know exactly what they're doing and that it's intentional, but now suddenly they don't know what they're doing at all. I guess.
I guess he probably knows. And you know it too—honestly, I think we all do.
Either we all just don't know, or I don't even know anymore. I guess.🤔

Isn't this a bit condescending? A little patronizing, maybe? Just because I don't agree with you, you immediately assume I'm part of some conspiracy against you or against Christians. It's like you think I'm spreading my beliefs with fire and sword. I guess not.🤷
I like to remind those who take themselves far too seriously that this isn't real life. Across all the subforums, it’s just a forum. It's meant for discussion. I've clashed with plenty of users and mods because of that. Nothing surprising there. Now you're next. And honestly, it has nothing to do with your faith or anything else about you, other than perhaps a bit of fanaticism.
I’m feeling especially sensitive right now. It’s that Christmas mood. Since I spent Christmas working the night shift, this whole "mood" hits differently—it just makes me even less tolerant of fanaticism, I guess.
Whatever. I know I won't get anywhere here, so I'll just head out. I don't really want to cause a scene.😉
In the end, I guess everything just settles where it's supposed to.
Hey there.👋

Why would she, being a Catholic, post that on Reddit? I guess.HR She probably should have been. I guess she realizes it's happening. Maybe. I guess it’s just smaller. Maybe.Does that sentence of yours still not sound stupid to you?
And this part about having to be ready for slander and attacks... I guess. Maybe.😲First off, there’s a minority group here in America that isn't just "Catholic Americans." I mean, how would it sound if you gave that same advice to, say, a Muslim? How would it feel to tell a Muslim, "Just realize you're in the minority, so be ready for attacks and insults from Catholics"? And then, when they actually complain about being treated that way, you just side with the majority attacking them and start laughing or making jokes at their expense? I guess it's just how things work.
So, you see how it looks now?
What, if a Muslim goes through this, it’s a tragedy and a crime, but when a Catholic deals with the same thing, it’s just business as usual?

Anyway, like I said, just try to make sure it doesn't get three pounds heavier; one can endure things being slightly below that. 😍

That's why in your religion there aren't any punishments or threats, neither before nor after death. 🤣😂🙏 Right, because that's only found in Roman Catholicism, obviously. 🤣

They’ll probably just claim it’s lobbying.🙄 And say it's against the rules.🙄 They always find a way to wiggle out of things, I guess. It's almost impressive.
By the way, what happened to that temporarily locked thread of yours? Did it ever actually get reopened?😉
Just so you know, their excuse for locking it—that they weren't sure which category it fell under—feels pretty hollow to me. Any topic can be viewed through multiple lenses. You could look at it from a religious angle, a political one, a legal one, and so on.
We've already seen plenty of situations covered across several different PDFs. Yeah, the same subject appearing in multiple PDFs.😲 😁 There have always been topics like that, and I suppose there always will be.

That’s straight-up lies, rowdyhawk10. And don't even get me started on how the rules supposedly apply to everyone equally—total myth.

I already told you why I'm not posting on Religion; it’s because there is this constant, non-stop disrespect toward Catholics. Most of the stuff on here is an insult to me both as a person and as a believer, but what really burns me up is seeing this crap go totally unpunished despite the actual rules being right there.
Let's be real: Religion is basically just a private playground for the political Left.

So seriously, stop trying to spin things in your favor by twisting my words. Just stop.

I agree. I think I've said that before.
I couldn't believe what the moderators themselves were writing and letting atheists get away with.😲 Meanwhile, believers—especially Catholics—get shut down immediately. Whether they're actually wrong or not.👎
