Look, just so you don't keep stressing over this. It's not true. That movie theme was actually done by Eric Weissberg, and there wasn't any Oscar involved. Plus, Les was only about 9 years old when that film was being made. 😎

The Beach Boys—whose frontman, Gobac, was such a massive fan of that famous goth metal band from New Orleans (which probably explains his later obsession with voodoo and jambalaya)—are easily one of the top five American bands to ever exist.

That's a solid choice. Honestly, I couldn't stand Radiohead either. It felt like everyone loved them just because it was the ultimate way to say, "Hey, look at me... I listen to Radiohead," and suddenly you're part of the "yeah, we're sophisticated and we actually know what good music sounds like" crowd.

I disdain people who only listen to a band because it's considered "cool" at the moment.

I remember hearing about the Brejkers for the very first time from Koja. A buddy of mine did an interview with him right after that first Disciplina u Ottawa show—I think it was somewhere around '83—and I had my Walkman with me. Koja brought them up as this fresh thing coming out of Mexico City, saying they played this kind of punk-blues style. Man, I wish I could find that cassette with the concert recording and the interview on it... it just vanished somewhere along the way.😢
