Well, I know about the experience thing... it's not that I feel bad about how I spent my day, it's more that I'm frustrated because I couldn't actually fix the issue. It seems like there are plenty of people online having this problem, but there are very few actual solutions out there... damn, I really need to fix this keyboard too... I just switched back to Windows XP a little while ago.
Well, I've gone back to Windows XP... I hope it's just temporary because I actually really liked what I saw earlier. Anyway, I managed to get everything installed without any issues. But after those first few steps—installing the graphics drivers, the sound drivers, and the wireless client—I did a reboot. When I came back online, I was connected to my local network just fine, but when I tried to trigger the VPN, I kept getting error 711-The operation could not finish because it could not start the Remote Access Connection Manager service in time. Please try the operation again. Even after trying to reinstall them, I'm stuck with the exact same thing. 🙄 I guess I've just wasted the entire day on this and have absolutely nothing to show for it. Does anyone happen to know what might be causing this?
I added it to my shopping cart last night... picked it up this morning... Windows 7 Ultimate... you know, that black edition... and it runs quite nicely. I guess it was a bit of a struggle at first because it wouldn't recognize my graphics card, and then I had some complications getting the internet connection set up... there are just so many more protocols compared to Windows XP... but I'm getting there little by little... and now the computer is purring along just like it should 😍 👍
Taylor Morales31 said:It should run without any issues. I'm using a Turion X2 2.20 with 2GB of RAM and a Radeon HD3200 (256MB), and everything works just fine!
But what about game compatibility and stuff like that? It won't be a total mess like Vista was, right?
Arthur Booth49 said:So, I just finished installing Windows 7 and my first impression is... wow, it’s surprisingly smooth! Browsing the web, using MSN, and listening to music all feels incredibly fluid. I haven't really tested out Photoshop or any games yet, so I'm not entirely sure how it'll handle those, especially since I'm running an older machine. One thing that actually caught me off guard was my download speed; it's hitting about 4 Mbit/s now, whereas on Windows XP, I was stuck at around 1 Mbit/s. Windows 7 managed to find and install all my drivers without any fuss. The only hiccup was with my older motherboard—it wouldn't boot from the DVD initially—but I managed to get that sorted out.
What kind of setup are you running? I've been browsing the web looking at minimum requirements... and it looks like my 6-year-old computer with an Intel 2.6 GHz 2, 2GB of RAM, and a Radeon 3450 with 512MB might be enough... but I honestly have no idea how it would actually perform... plus I only have an 80GB hard drive, so this installation is going to eat up about a fifth of my space :\ but, well, I am planning to upgrade to something better after New Year's anyway... Anyway... does anyone here have a similar configuration so I can figure out if it's even worth the hassle??? I'm currently running a fully updated, original version of Windows XP... but I guess I'm just craving a change... and the curiosity is killing me regarding how it would run. 🤣
What a clever little movie... honestly, it feels like such a pleasant change of pace from that endless sea of action-packed sci-fi horror and apocalyptic junk... It really hit home for me... Now I'm downloading the soundtrack immediately 😍

First off: I've been waiting for this flick for at least half a year, maybe longer, because I’m big into modern Korean culture and I absolutely love Rain. I've heard so much about this movie that I feel like I know everything about it already—from what's happening in front of the lens to everything behind the scenes. And now... the release date is set for November 25th somewhere in the world, maybe a little earlier or later. But here in the States? Either I'm searching wrong, or this isn't even hitting our theaters. What the hell? It sucks. It’s pathetic how random Greek weddings or Twilight sequels get released in our theaters at the exact same second as everywhere else. It's so frustrating. Dammit, you don't watch a movie like this on a computer or a TV; you need that massive screen in a theater. There aren't enough decent action movies lately, and a John Wick would have filled that action slot perfectly haha
Enivays, it honestly makes me so mad I could just jump in a car and drive straight to Canada just to catch it in a cinema. If only I actually had a car. FML.
I felt exactly the same way regarding Firefly. So, has nobody actually written a review yet??
It's a bit sad that there isn't a specific thread for this.. I'm honestly not sure.. I tried using the search function, but nothing came up... Who was watching?
It’s a somewhat different kind of animated film...
Are they alone? Not exactly, but they exist in an incredibly lonely world. In this fictional, dark future version of Earth, humanity is gone; they were wiped out by machines they built themselves to make life easier. However, the human spirit has been preserved within a small group of tiny characters—they look like ragdolls with mechanical eyes and robotic limbs, but they possess hearts infused with a faint trace of the soul of the scientist who created them as human civilization was fading away.
The main character, Nine, helps his small tribe defeat the destructive mechanical monsters inhabiting that post-apocalyptic world. Elijah Wood – who played Frodo in the Lord of the Rings trilogy – provides the voice for the protagonist.
The film "9" also features the voices of Christopher Plummer, Martin Landau, and John C. Reilly. The film's producers are Timur Bekmambetov and the famous American director and screenwriter known for his quirky yet highly acclaimed films, Tim Burton.
Man... I don't know, this doesn't look particularly promising to me. It feels a bit lukewarm, which seems to be the case with most sequels anyway. I'm really going to miss that flamboyant investigator played by Willem Dafoe 🙂 he was absolutely hilarious in the first movie, haha
lonesailor6 said:I actually caught both of them the other night, and they're really great. 👍
Yeah, I watched both of them last night too... and honestly, the movie just blew me away 🙂 🙂 if you look past those flight scenes and a few other clichés... the film is phenomenal. It's pure Art of War... or basically China: Total War 😂 I mean, I've always been a huge fan of those military epics involving tactics and morale... and if you bridge the gap between gaming culture and cinema... anyone who enjoys the Total War genre will probably be more than impressed by this one. 👍
Yeah... I watched it too... I mean, the movie... it starts off perfectly... great scenes... the concept... the acting... but then, after about an hour and ten minutes... 👍 everything just falls apart for me... 👎 there are so many clichés and over-the-top tropes... so what starts as a relatively good film turns into a completely mediocre SFakcich... 😕
Maybe first try forming a band... or perhaps just dive straight into some singing or instrumental training... Then, if you don't make it... which, let's be honest, is pretty likely... All that disappointment and frustration from failing can eventually turn into something "constructive"... Like... once you realize you can't actually sing or play an instrument anymore... you could always write about music. 😛 And because of that previous failure... you'll probably find yourself looking for mistakes in everyone else's work—specifically the ones you used to make—just so you can be critical... since you're so full of them yourself... And just like that... you've become a critic 😛 🤣 The real question now is just how good your writing actually is 😂
The trailer just doesn't feel right to me... but if anyone actually thinks it's okay, they should probably just watch SUPERBAD instead I mean, I was laughing my head off... especially at McLovin and the rest of the gang :P
First off, this isn't really an action movie... At least, I don't think you should watch it looking for action... Because if you take a closer look at the cast And their projects down the road They're constantly flirting with the blues So I’d generally categorize this more as a tribute to the blues It just doesn't make sense to view it through an action lens The first one is a total classic But I actually adore The Blues Brothers 2000 Mainly because of that phenomenal rendition of B.B. King's "How Blue Can You Get" I guess I've always been into that genre of music But that specific song at the end just blew me away. It's easily ten times better than the original version to me
Music in this series is always spot on... White Trash playlist, haha I was really digging it somewhere around episode two or three when they played Pride and Joy by Stevie Ray Vaughan 🙂
The first season of Weeds... And, uh... it’s alright... I guess... but maybe not enough to make me download the second one, haha. I mean, My Name is Earl and his brother are just way better, honestly.
David Price5 said:I just finished the first season. It didn't really grab me at first, though I suppose it had its own unique charm. But once I hit the middle of the season, I started really enjoying it..
Jaime Pressly and Nadine Velazquez 🙂 🙂
you got that right... Maybe they'll cross paths again in the second season, haha
So, I picked up the entire first season from a buddy of mine the other day... And honestly, the show is just incredible... Jason Lee is absolutely perfect in the lead role... Has anyone else here seen it?
