I’m gonna throw my hat in the ring too, even though I know my chances are basically zero, but you know what they say... "It’s the taking part that counts," right? And hey, a massive 👍 to Anthony Smith3 for all the insane amount of work he puts into this Reddit community.
Frank Moore4 said:Tony Stark (meaning RDJ, though honestly, does it even matter 😁) just keeps killing it. I caught Iron Man 2 yesterday, and you can really start to see the blueprint for the Avengers forming. The whole movie has this great urban vibe, so it’s hard to pick out specific scenes, but I definitely have to shout out the DJ set by ROn Man. 😁, and then seeing Iron Man show up at the Stark Expo right at the start. 😁 Another big win for this movie is War Machine. Plus, you've got Pepper Potts looking incredible, and S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Romanoff is right there too. Seriously, I am so hyped to finally see Thor and Captain America, and then the full Avengers lineup. 🙂
That all holds water, but how do you... For the love of everything sacred...Look, I’m just gonna say it... Gwyneth Paltrow can be seriously hot. There, I said it. Don't come at me... 😕🤷😉
Anthony Smith3 - Seriously, props to you for pulling this together, but honestly? I think a better way to run this would be having everyone send their answers via PM. The way it’s set up now, if someone isn't sure about an answer, they just scroll up, see what everyone else wrote, and then just copy-paste whatever looks right... it kind of defeats the purpose, doesn't it? But hey, whatever, your sweepstakes, your rules. I'm still jumping in:
They’ve absolutely gone to hell in a handbasket. Don't get me wrong, I’ll still happily sit down and watch those old classics from time to time, but this modern stuff? Most of the time, I'm turning it off after maybe ten minutes... It’s just a total waste of time. It's such a shame because I've always found this whole genre pretty fascinating...
placidotter102 said:So, out of nowhere, they’ve gone and messed with the schedule again—suddenly there's some summer rerun popping up on the second channel. Whatever. Anyway, they’re airing reruns of My Name Is Earl Season 3 now, and apparently, it starts from episode 8... just when I thought I finally had my routine down... 🤣
Yeah, I caught that too, and honestly, I was pretty stoked since I hadn't actually sat down to watch those episodes yet. If I remember correctly, that was the last one they aired during the regular slot before everything went on summer hiatus... and then they started running those reruns in the off-hours that hadn't even hit PBS yet...

Day Zero! Day One! Last Day!
And man, Flogging Molly absolutely blew my mind. I knew they were decent, but damn, they were incredible. There wasn't a single person standing still—everyone was dancing. Just pure magic. Some of the local acts were solid too... thank God for T-Mobile, we're getting more international visitors and our city is finally getting on the map, which is exactly how it should be. Sure, it's a little pricey, but honestly, when you consider I spent $117 just to see Deep Purple back in the day, and this whole festival cost about the same, the whole "it's too expensive" argument just doesn't hold water...
The only thing is, AIC didn't open their set with "Dirt" (they didn't play it at all!), they actually kicked things off with "Again".
Oh, man, hell yeah!!! The first one is hands down one of my absolute favorite animated movies of all time. Just an incredible, heartfelt story packed with tons of action and laughs... I honestly have zero doubt that the Pixar crew is going to knock it out of the park and deliver another masterpiece.
Man, forget what people were saying, it didn't even rain! We ended up running late for Kawasaki, so we only caught about 3 or 4 songs, but honestly? They were killer. And they've got that crazy styling going on with those loops around their necks... totally wild. Plus, the vuvuzelas had me cracking up. TBF, the set was solid, though if I'm being real, I would've loved more stuff from the debut album—Lollapalooza was hands down the peak of their performance for me. But man, AC/DC? Absolutely blew my mind. Seriously, these guys play like they're plugged directly into a high-voltage socket, not like a band that—let’s be honest—hit their absolute prime like fifteen years ago. The setlist was perfection; I felt like I wrote it myself. I mean, okay, there was definitely room for "Don't Stop Believin'", "Over Now", "Godsmack", and so on, but whatever. I went in expecting a short set, so I wasn't really disappointed there. My only gripe is they could've talked to the crowd a bit more. DuVall did try his best to shout out some American slang to the fans, which I really appreciate—you can tell the guy actually gives a damn. Oh, and get this—at the end, I almost caught a drumstick! Or whatever the hell you call those things they hit with. It flew straight toward my hand, but since my reflexes aren't quite what they used to be after a few beers, it just bounced off my palm and landed on someone else. So, if you're reading this, whoever you are... I hate you!!!
But what's this organization even about? Like, what kind of connection do they have with Stark that they can act like his bosses and decide if he's staying Iron Man or not?...
That would be S.H.I.E.L.D., this top-secret agency that fights against evil. Look, I'm not gonna sit here and lecture you all day, but if you really want to dive deep, just check out this massive Wikipedia article. If you're feeling motivated, go for it:
rowdyridge3 said:Does anyone know if any other members of Iron Man's crew are going to show up in this animated series? The lineup includes Spider-Woman, War Machine, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, and Quicksilver. Looking at the promo shots, it looks like War Machine (the silver Iron Man) is definitely in. Anyone know if the rest of them will make an appearance?
Uh, hello? Is it obvious to you that the movie is already playing in theaters right now? 😁
And just so we're clear, besides War Machine, none of those other names you listed are showing up at all.
So, I finally caught the movie last night, figured I’d throw some thoughts out there... Honestly? The first one was an absolute masterpiece, and even this sequel, while maybe a tiny bit weaker, still holds its own. My biggest gripe is definitely how they crammed in all those new characters—there just wasn't enough breathing room to actually flesh them out, especially that character played by Scarlett Johansson. It felt rushed, you know? Also, there's this weird lull right in the middle where the pacing just drags and nothing much happens... just dead air. But look, despite that, it's still a blast of a blockbuster that doesn't treat the audience like they're idiots. Robert Downey Jr. is perfection as the ego-driven Tony Stark, Mickey Rourke absolutely kills it playing Ivan Vanko, and Sam Rockwell is pure entertainment as Justin Hammer. The rest of the cast? Solid work across the board.
analogpilot16 said:Well, Tony Stark showed up in The Hulk—I can't recall the exact details, though—but he was definitely there.
Check out this scene:

He didn't show up in Hulk, he showed up to General Ross to tell him they were putting a team together. Actually, if you look at it this way, it implies that the events of "The Incredible Hulk" are happening after the other movies, since Stark isn't officially part of the Avengers yet back in "Iron Man 2." Honestly, I love how they weave these stories together. It really gives you that feeling that this whole cinematic universe is one massive, interconnected web... it's just brilliant...
Ugh, Sean Bean... seriously, he just can't seem to shake that Boromir role, can he? Always stuck in the same loop. Still, I have to admit, the movie actually looks pretty interesting.
Matthew Anderson4 said:Arrested Development got canceled. Ever since then, nothing really surprises me anymore... 🤷
Yeah, there are definitely those high-quality shows that got axed way too soon. Meanwhile, all the absolute garbage shows somehow manage to limp along for ten seasons. Honestly, life sucks and then you die. 😁
Oh, and man, Arrested Development is easily one of the funniest shows ever made. I was literally rolling on the floor laughing every single time I watched it. It was definitely unconventional, though. I know plenty of people who watched just one episode, thought the whole thing was total nonsense, and checked out immediately. It clearly wasn't for everyone...
They just axed it? Like, it's just gone? Seriously?!
It’s always the same thing... they throw in a gem like My Name Is Earl every once in a while just to satisfy us, and then they kill it because apparently Americans have zero sense of humor?! As long as those absolute garbage shows with Urkel and those other mindless sitcoms run for fifteen years straight... you start a show, one kid is a baby, and by the finale, they're 25 years old with seven kids...
And then they just dump My Name Is Earl...
Unbelievable. 🤷
NBC canceled the series on May 19, 2009. Season four ended with the caption 'To be continued'. The series' producer, 20th Television, approached the Fox, ABC, TBS and TNT networks to continue the series, but they were unable to come to terms without "seriously undermining the artistic integrity of the series.
