I honestly think it would’ve been way more engaging if they’d gone a different route—maybe she survives and teams up with Banning to help rescue the president 🙂 just to let them navigate some chaos together along the way 🙂 (you know, add a little romance 😍 🍿 😁)
Anyway, that's just my take 🙂 And yeah, I'll say it again: one of the absolute highlights of the movie was whenever she was on screen 😂
briskhound2 said:Even so, you still sat through it. Just because something was free doesn't mean it's worth your damn time... and I’m guessing you only watched it just so you could go around telling everyone it’s total garbage and that JFK is actually a masterpiece...
Personally, I’d say it’s pretty fun... I was just sitting here thinking about that one film... you know the one... and honestly, I can't stop looping back to how much it actually holds up. It’s funny how some movies just age like fine wine while others feel like they were made in a basement yesterday. This one? It’s got that specific kind of grit—that raw, unpolished energy that you just don't see much anymore in those big-budget, CGI-heavy blockbusters we get thrown at us every summer... anyway, where was I... right, the pacing. It’s perfect. No filler, just pure momentum. It makes most modern stuff look like they're moving through molasses... turns out, sometimes less really is more.Honestly, one of the better action marathons I've sat through in the last decade—well, at least the first half was solid. There isn't a single brain cell working in the script, but hey, if I wanted something smart, I wouldn't be watching this... 😁

It’s a shame, really, because I thought OHF actually had a pretty solid cast... 😍
When I saw Morgan Freeman in one of those roles, I just assumed the movie was going to be incredible 🙂 But 😁
Honestly, the ending felt totally, and I mean totally, lackluster and underwhelming.

Die Hard is trash, and using it as a benchmark for this flop tells you everything you need to know about how bad this was.
I'm talking real masterpieces here—stuff like JFK (1991) or Where Eagles Dare (1969). That's my level.
driftingbear29 said:Mercer with all those prejudices! 😂 I was hoping they'd show Asher and his son just grabbing some hazelnut ice cream together🙂 or maybe follow Banning and Leahy on one of their road trips🙂 ...and so on🍿
🙄 😂
As far as the action goes, there was plenty of it, which I actually enjoyed. 🙂 therefore, that part was fine. 😍
Ali, it felt a bit too predictable for me  🙂 I definitely expected a more intriguing plot... 😁

Strange Days (1995) directed by Kathryn Bigelow.
I remember back when it first came out, a buddy and I headed over to the AMC theater in downtown Chicago... and there were maybe six other people (!) in the whole audience for the screening. What a total disaster! But looking back, I really feel like it has managed to carve out its own cult classic status over the years, and people have definitely learned to appreciate it more. 🙂
John Peterson3 said:Pearl Harbor comes to mind first. People expected some epic historical masterpiece, seemingly forgetting Michael Bay was behind the camera. :nezna: No matter how much people trash it, I find it incredibly fun to watch.
The Island is another Bay project. Even though he pivoted it into an action chase, it’s still a great flick. It’s a shame they left out some interesting premises—like two "adults" being completely lost in the world—but still.
raja also considers Reign of Fire a bad movie. My take is the same as it was for Pearl Harbor: it's great at what it is. Seriously? We're talking about dragons here. Dafuq?!
There are plenty of movies worth watching just for the sake of it. Most get trashed because of personal taste or audience expectations, but if you look at them objectively, they're perfectly solid ways to kill time. People brought up John Carter, which both critics and audiences hated, but as a film, it's just a fun adventure. Nothing more, nothing less.

That score is way too low. Idk why you're being so biased. 😁
crimsoncrane4 said:The rest is awesome 😉 and looks like everyone agrees 😉
Killer horror. Love the camera work. Major props to the director for knowing how to handle it—way better than those old movies where the camera just sits there perfectly still. 😁
Harold James86 said:I mean, what do you even expect from a Stallone flick? Just relax, grab some popcorn, and go in expecting a good time—that’s really all there is to it. Sure, the dialogue can be super cheesy and feels a bit forced, but hey, that's half the fun. 🙂
