Man, my Watch history just stops working right after I hit Load more... I click it and absolutely nothing happens...

I honestly think the issue might be tied to your account itself... assuming it isn't some weird glitch on your computer.

Have you actually tried running a deep scan for viruses or malware using Malwarebytes yet?
you should also give it a good cleaning with ADWcleaner too.
maybe it’s even a router issue... you could try giving that a quick reset and see if anything changes.

@Chris Robinson25 ..honestly, the easiest way to put it is that you might just have to wipe Windows entirely... that's usually the last resort when you can't find any other fix. 😉

Make sure you don't forget to wipe off all that crusty old thermal paste first—using some isopropyl alcohol is definitely your best bet, just be gentle so you aren't pressing too hard, and then you can just buff it clean with a microfiber cloth.
After that, just put down a tiny amount of the new stuff, maybe about the size of a single grain of rice. You can pick up a decent tube for like five or six bucks at basically any Micro Center or Best Buy. Once that's set, go ahead and mount the heatsink onto the CPU.

With AMD setups, it’s honestly such a breeze since you just clip it on, press down, and you're done... but since you're running an Intel build, I'm not totally sure how much pressure you need to apply, though I'm sure you can find a killer tutorial on YouTube🙂
So look, you’ve got 2x2GB in there, right? Honestly, it doesn't even matter if the RAM is technically faster than what your motherboard can actually handle—it'll just automatically throttle itself down to the maximum frequency the board supports.
Basically, Maria James94 already laid it all out for you perfectly.

Best GPU for Intel Core i5? in Desktops ·
Honestly, it just feels like throwing money down the drain... I mean, if the guy has cash to burn just because he wants to play the latest releases, then whatever, that's his business, but to me? It seems totally pointless. If he actually can't run his games at all—or if they're barely crawling along—then yeah, sure, he should upgrade. But he *can* play them. What's the big deal with just turning the settings down to medium? At the end of the day, if a game is actually good, who cares if the graphics aren't cutting-edge?

Kimberly Gomez34 said:It’s a decent card, but if they’re looking for better gaming performance, they’re obviously going to have to swap it out.

So what?
I mean, seriously, what is wrong with you guys if you feel like you absolutely need a better GPU every single year... that's just straight-up obsession right there.😉
You can still play plenty of games on that card for a good while longer... ☕

Adam Moore3 said:What's the actual reason you want to swap out the card? Honestly, I think the 6770 is still a perfectly solid GPU.🙂

Look, it's solid enough if it's the GDDR5 version, but that's about it 😉

So, quietcyclist89 which one are you actually running? Are we talking the GDDR3 or the GDDR5 version?
Because if it's the five, who knows what kind of money you're just throwing away...
I mean, if you've already got the cash sitting there and nothing better to spend it on, why not just grab an SSD or something useful instead? 🙄
Hmm, I don't think it's SmartScreen—that usually just gives you a True-False prompt, right?

Give this a shot:
Go ahead and head over to the Control Panel -> System and Security > Action Center. Once you're there, look at that column on the left side where it says "Change User Account Control Settings"

Just try sliding that bar to match exactly how mine is set... if that doesn't fix it, then honestly, I'm stumped.🤷

Honestly, why don't you just try using Revo Uninstaller to completely wipe everything out and scrub the system clean before you start over?
Who even knows what kind of mess you've got scattered all over your hard drive right now...

James Turner said:So when I check out the display adapters in Device Manager, it shows me two different standard VGA graphics adapters. Does that actually answer what you were asking?🙂
On top of that, whenever I hit install, the system just automatically grabs an Intel driver for me, so I end up downloading this AMD driver that comes bundled with some Catalyst stuff. Since I don't have that specific AMD driver installed right now, everything seems to be running fine, or at least that's how it feels to me.

some Catalyst thing... 🤣 🤣
just grab the latest version and you'll be golden, trust me.

Honestly, you can't really mess this up too badly since it isn't rocket science, right? My only real concern is whether we're looking at a hardware failure here, but hey, if you want to test things out with a fresh Windows install, go for it.

First, you grab something like an Ubuntu Linux live CD and burn it onto a disc using a program like ImgBurn.
Then, you just head into your BIOS First boot Device settings and set the CD drive as the priority.
Pop the disc in, and if the burn went smoothly, you should see the Ubuntu live CD startup screen pop up right away.
Once you're in, just pull up "My Computer" to see all your drives, and then you can grab whatever files you need from your Windows partition (assuming you have a separate one for Windows). Just a heads-up though—it might refuse to open at first if Windows wasn't shut down properly. If you don't actually need anything from that Windows partition, you can just go ahead and wipe everything and install Windows immediately...

Do a little digging on these:

Maybe try installing a fresh version of Windows, and you can just back everything up using some kind of Linux live CD. (though maybe someone a bit more tech-savvy than me could walk you through the specifics of using a live CD and those partitioning schemes). 😛
If you've already got Windows sitting on its own separate partition, then man, you're actually in luck because that makes things way easier.

Look, obviously, like people were saying, you should definitely give it a good cleaning to get all that dust out first and see if that helps. But honestly? If Windows is still booting up like a snail and then just shutting itself down after two minutes, I'm telling you, it smells like a software issue to me, and no amount of dusting is going to fix a corrupted OS.
Hey, you might want to check if that card has one of those tiny little write-protect switches on the side that locks everything down.

Thanks! Fingers crossed it actually works.

But seriously, don't forget to copy everything from the card over to your computer first, because nobody wants to deal with losing all their data, right?

William Richardson12 said:Just go grab a basic Genius mouse then. I’ve had one sitting on my desk for four years and it ran Total War perfectly... was a solid little thing 😁

Man, I actually have something similar to that, it even has a little switch on the bottom to toggle between 800 and 1600 DPI 😁
The mouse itself is decent, but I swear it's such a total battery hog, so I'm definitely looking to pick up a new one soon.

Honestly, starting off with 4GB is plenty for now, right? You can always just grab another 4GB stick later on and call it a day 🙂
though if it were me, I’d definitely go with Seagate over that WD blue drive... 😉

Hey @Adam Moore3, why on earth are you pushing for a 500GB drive when the price difference is basically nonexistent?
DPI / Mouse Sensitivity Issues in IT Support ·
I honestly don't think messing with regedit is going to do much for you, because that basically just tweaks the settings within the Control Panel by changing things in the registry.

Besides, I haven't run into anyone else complaining about high DPI issues until now.

Honestly, maybe just try to get used to it? What else can I even tell you...
maybe someone else will stumble upon a fix.

So, what kind of "expert" installed Windows on your laptop without actually wiping the Linux partition that was already sitting there? 🤦

Well, if that's the case, we definitely have an issue on our hands.

👍

Honestly, I don't think you even need to go through the hassle of a full reinstall.
First things first, can you tell me exactly what error message you're seeing right at the start? Like, what are all the specific options popping up on your screen?

Have you given the Windows without loader option a shot yet? Seriously, just try that one and see what happens.
Is there an option for with loader available?

If none of those work, your best bet would be to burn the exact same version of Windows onto a DVD—assuming you have one handy—and then just boot from that disc and hit > repair.

You mentioned you can't even get into the BIOS, right? That sounds to me like your laptop might have just gone into a sort of deep sleep instead of doing a full, proper shutdown. If it didn't actually power down completely, it's basically trying to pick up right where it left off, which totally skips that initial boot sequence where you'd normally tap DEL or F2 to jump into the BIOS settings.

Once you give me a bit more detail on what's going on, we'll definitely figure this out together.
