Cast your dream actors for these roles! in Movies ·
If Paul Newman and a Steve McQueen film had been cast in In Cold Blood, 🙏 the movie would have been legendary just as it is—I can't even begin to imagine how much of a powerhouse it would have been with those two on screen. 🙏

Christopher Walken playing Tom Hagen🙏
The Shawshank Redemption doesn't deserve that number one spot; honestly, I feel like most of these movies are actually better than it😁.
The movie hits you incredibly hard emotionally, and for a few hours after watching it, I think it's perfect. But once the dust settles and I'm thinking clearly, I find myself wondering what exactly makes it so special.🤔
It’s probably the only movie where I’ve changed my rating on IMDb more than twice. I'll finish it, go online, and give it a 10. Then, after a little while, I'll drop it to an 8, then a 7, then I'll rewatch it and give it a 10 all over again... it's just a constant cycle.😁
A film like that simply can't be my number one.

To make a long story short; out of these ten, my absolute favorite—and arguably the greatest film ever madeThe Godfather—is at the top, followed by The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, then 12 Angry Men, and then The Godfather Part II... everything else comes after those, even if they aren't technically part of my all-time top 10.
Chinatown (1974) - Roman Polanski in Movies ·
A total masterpiece. Honestly, I don’t even know where to start when I try to praise this movie...
The atmosphere, the plot, the dialogue, the acting, the direction, the cinematography...🙏 It's perfection.
I've always been a fan of Polanski, and I'd say Chinatown is right up there with The Tenant (1976) as one of his absolute best.

Around here, her side of the story hasn't really been covered at all, so I'm not surprised everyone just takes her word for it. Most of what you guys have heard comes straight from her own book, whereas the news media over in Germany was constantly dropping new details that felt pretty bizarre.

It isn't just that single accusation about the mother knowing the kidnapper; there’s also the matter of the child she had with him, the second kidnapper, the witness who wasn't allowed to admit there were two of them, the father refusing to pay bail, and all those little details like trips to winter camps or taking taxis to the corner store. 🤷
Sure, he was mentally ill—that much is clear—but there are so many holes in this whole narrative that it just feels off to me. 🤷

One way to look at it: She was never on good terms with her parents, so she decided to punish her mother by running away long before the kidnapping actually happened. She met this predator and saw him as an escape from her home life; she knew he was unstable and went through hell with him (though that doesn't necessarily mean she spent eight years in a basement), and she waited until her 18th birthday so she wouldn't have to go back to her parents before finally fleeing that jerk.
According to another version, the mother knew everything and was even seeing him from time to time...

Anyway, I don't want to drag this out or clutter up the thread anymore, but being called a troll when you're clearly just uninformed is pretty rude. ☕
Because the reality is, her father wrote a book about the case that tells a very different story than hers, and presumably, he knows the truth better than anyone...

Look, instead of just calling me a troll, maybe take a second to actually read what those parents are saying in the American news outlets.🙄

It isn't really about whether she was staying with that guy or not; the real question is whether her eight-year stay there was by choice or if she was being held against her will.
Besides, you guys have the internet at your fingertips—just look it up yourselves. I really don't feel like sitting here recounting every single detail to you.🙄 And honestly, I'm not obsessed enough with this topic to go out of my way and hunt down links right now.

To’s the thing—even her own mother doesn't fully buy what she's selling, yet he's out there talking about it openly. If you take a moment to dig through some German or Austrian news sites, you'll find an absolute mountain of articles dedicated to them.
They’ve even gone as far as publishing books on the subject. ☕

Even her own father doesn't buy her story about being kidnapped, so why on earth should I believe her and sit through some stupid video based entirely on her lies?!
Extreme 😍
Other bands are just... well, they're just bands (for now)
And I mean love in such an extreme 😍 sense that whenever I hear More Than Words playing in some movie or TV show, I can't help but tear up.☕
Pet Sematary in Movies ·
I actually disagree regarding the radiation aspect. To me, the movie was a masterpiece, even if I found the book pretty tedious. But honestly, because I used to constantly compare King's films to King's books back in the day, it really bugs me now when people start generalizing everything in threads about movies based on his work. It just isn't fair to King as an author, nor is it fair to the directors.

The Shining was a disappointment for me, but on the complete opposite end of the spectrum, Salem's Lot was pure genius. I absolutely adore that book, even though the screen adaptations feel weak and shallow. It would be so silly for someone to reject reading such an excellent book just because it's by King, simply because they thought the adaptation was bad—you know what I mean?
Well, if you don't get it, I don't even get myself half the time.🤣

Anyway, regarding Pet Sematary, it's about time I rewatch it, but I'm also planning to read the book, so we'll see which one happens first. 🙂

True, but honestly, that doesn't carry all that weight when we're talking about King adaptations. A movie might turn out completely different from the book, the book might be better than the film, or maybe the whole thing is just a bore. 🤷

Btw, the rating on IMDb should be way higher than a 6.4.

Why are you mixing up the book and the movie? Once you've actually read the book, you can claim King is the king of horror, but you shouldn't say that just after watching the film.

Anyway, I’ve only seen the movie once, but I remember it being absolutely terrifying. I don't recall the specific dialogue, but I know I was screaming every time that ghost popped up.😱

The first one was incredible—honestly, it was the only movie that actually kept me from sleeping soundly for a few nights. I’m really hoping this sequel is at least half as good as the original.

analoghawk13 said:Günther Kaufmann kills his wife and goes to prison, or something along those lines.

You can actually see it in the actors' faces in the movie—it's like they're seriously offering to finally take out Kinski themselves.

Kaufmann (RIP) didn't kill his wife.🙄
He actually went to prison for the murder of an accountant. He confessed to the crime even though he didn't commit it, just to protect his wife, who was battling cancer and was already near death at the time.
Basically, the wife had paid off some thugs to kill Kaufmann’s accountant because he had stumbled onto one of her scams. She took money from him and promised he'd get it back through some legal loophole that probably didn't even exist. Once Kaufmann found out, he decided to go to prison in her place just so she could spend her final days surrounded by her children and loved ones. It was a massive sacrifice, the kind of thing very few people would ever do for anyone else. Eventually, the actual perpetrators turned themselves in, and Kaufmann was released.

As for Kinski, it’s no secret the guy was deeply troubled. His older daughter recently wrote a book that caused quite a stir in the German media; in it, she describes growing up with a monster of a father who subjected her to years of abuse.
So, don't be surprised if the people forced to work with him felt like they wanted to kill him. If you look on YouTube, there are countless clips of his scandals on various German talk shows where you can see the pure panic on the moderators' faces, terrified that he might actually lash out at them.

Anyway, it's an interesting topic.👍

Edward Norton in Movies ·
Should I vote for the movie where he’s at his most handsome, or the one where his acting is actually the best? 😁

Edward Norton😍
He’s easily my favorite actor of his generation—honestly, he's the only one I really care about.☕

He was incredible in Primal Fear, American History X, and Fight Club... but I ended up voting for The Score. For me, that's his absolute best work.
