Thanks for the quick reply, but there's a space before the first letter at the margin.
Anyway, I managed to fix it myself:
Spacing below paragraph was the fix. It wasn't even a real issue; I was just being oblivious and didn't check my settings. My zoom was set to 110%, which made the standard spacing look massive to begin with. 🙄
Hey everyone,
Scoured the first few pages and couldn't find anything similar, so I’m starting this thread. If the mods already have something like this floating around, feel free to move or delete this—I don't want to step on anyone's toes.

I used to use Microsoft Office, but I've switched over to Open. Now I'm running into an issue with the spacing whenever I hit enter. The gap is, to put it mildly, massive. When I'm typing and the cursor jumps to a new line, the settings look like this:

Line spacing: Proportional 115%

That part is fine; I'm perfectly happy with those settings. But the second I hit enter, the gap becomes extreme. For comparison, while I'm typing here on the forum, I have to hit enter twice (that is: 2 😉 times) just to get a decent space, and even then it doesn't come close to the huge void I get in Microsoft Word.

If anyone has figured this out, thanks in advance.

Chloe Moore5 said:Hey everyone,
I need some advice 🙂 Here’s the deal—an IT guy was moving my business contact email over to a new server, and since I wanted my emails accessible on my phone, I had everything forwarded to my personal account. Is there any way to automatically tag all incoming mail sent to that business address under a specific business Outlook label so I don't have to do it manually? Ideally, I'd want them to land in their own separate tab, but as far as I know, Google doesn't offer that. I searched Google, but maybe I'm just asking the wrong thing.🙂

I think you'll have to tag them manually at first, until Google learns which senders are professional, then it might start routing them correctly. For those first few emails... 🤷 It might actually be easier to filter them in your personal account if you're mostly getting mail from the same small group of people. Maybe keep the personal stuff separate and let the work stuff hit the main inbox directly.🤷
🤔Hope that makes sense.😁

Read it again. Use commas, spaces, periods, conjunctions—anything. I don't know if I've lost the ability to read today, but I can't make heads or tails of this. Sorry.🤷

Photobucket is dead, just a money grab now. I heard rumors Imgur might start charging users too, so I'm looking for a decent free hosting site. Nothing low-rent, though—I need something reliable where I can control max file size, auto-resize, and stuff like that.

It could be an intestinal narrowing. It might not even be gas.

👍 Come on, look at you. They practically have to force-feed you. 😉
The main thing is that it's handled. From here on out, just chop everything into tiny pieces and chew every single bite at least 100 times. 😁

Gregory Ramirez2 said:Look, what I’m drinking isn't actually meant to soothe my esophagus—it's more about getting those muscles to finally relax.
It's so they stop clamping down on the food, so when I wash it down with water, it can actually push everything along toward my stomach.
It worked twice yesterday—managed to get things moving down!

I’m gonna give it one more shot, and if that fails, I'm heading in for the procedure.

The real issue isn't just that stuck piece of food sitting in my esophagus; it's the fact that I am absolutely parched. I haven't been able to keep anything down for over 48 hours—not even a sip of water (and obviously no food, though you can last way longer without eating than without drinking). That’s a huge reason why I’ve decided if I can't swallow this myself by midnight, I'm going in for the surgery.
I'm even throwing up the smallest sips of water, and honestly, even my own saliva is coming right back up...

Yeah, dehydration. Honestly, don't wait until midnight. Just go now. I don't have any other advice for you; you're just making yourself suffer for no reason.

Look, a gastroscopy isn't some monster; it’s just a bit uncomfortable for certain people. Once it hits the entrance to the stomach, it might just ease its way through 🤷—kind of like how you sometimes have to give a car a little push to get it rolling. Don't sweat it too much. We'll catch up here soon; it's way too early to be checking out 😁

I’m skeptical about using Coke here. Just like it eats through leftover food, it’s going to irritate your esophagus too. Plus, trying to force food down or dig it out is risky business—doctors have warned me before that you can seriously damage your esophagus doing that. As for this idea of an esophageal relaxant pill 😕 how exactly are medical professionals expecting a pill to reach the stomach if things are blocked? An injection might work, but an oral medication won't get past the obstruction. Unless we're talking about some kind of topical liquid, my honest advice is to head to the ER. Getting food removed in a controlled outpatient setting isn't nearly as dangerous.
It might be worth getting some tests done just to have a specialist look at your esophagus 🤷

Get to the ER right now. Don't mess around with this.

Intel is trash... in IT Support ·
I’ve got an AMD rig from 2003 and it still handles everything just fine 🤷 Honestly, I’m leaning toward thinking this new Intel chip won't even be able to touch what AMD has already mastered. And don't even get me started on the graphics side of things 😁 This NVIDIA GeForce 3 with a massive 64 MB of VRAM 🥳 It still works perfectly well.
Gerald Hill said:I would like to solicit your opinions regarding a particular school of thought, which happens to be my favorite area of study. On this day, we mark the passing of Philipp Mainlender. In the eyes of most—if not all—those acquainted with the literature of philosophical pessimism, the system presented by this lesser-known philosopher and poet is considered the most radical pessimistic/nihilistic project ever conceived. Born as Philip Batz under tragic circumstances, he eventually changed his surname out of a deep reverence for the Maine River, becoming Mainlander. He was a passionate reader of Schopenhauer, whose works inspired him to pen his magnum opus, "philosophy of salvation." For Mainlander, however, salvation is synonymous with suicide; thus, one might just as easily title the work "philosophy of suicide." Beyond his opposition to sex—arguing that such acts affirm the will to live and facilitate procreation, which merely extends suffering—Mainlander concluded that the world is essentially a will toward death: a slow decay, a dying process, a systemic breakdown. To this end, he proposed a metaphysics of entropy. He proclaimed the death of God long before Nietzsche did, yet unlike Nietzsche, Mainlander meant it quite literally, stating, "God is dead, and His death has become the life of this world." Mainlander envisioned a cosmogony wherein the scattering or fragmentation of a self-conscious, fundamental unity—which we might call "God"—served as the cause of our existence. This entity, by its very nature, did not desire existence. He argued that God, as a supreme being, lacked the immediate capacity to transform Himself into nothingness; instead, He could only achieve non-existence by dispersing Himself into the diverse fragments that constitute every form in this world, allowing them to perish. He famously stated: "The will to death, ignited by the realization that non-existence is preferable to existence, is the supreme principle of morality." Because he categorized suicide as the highest moral act, he also viewed the depletion of resources, hyper-production, and destruction as moral principles. By doing so, one diminishes the collective forces in the world, thereby shortening the journey of the Divine remnants toward nothingness—which was his ultimate goal. He was also a staunch opponent of procreation. Many have stigmatized Mainlander as a pathological case, dismissing his philosophy as the product of a disturbed mind. However, he remained entirely consistent with his own logic. It is noted that the first volumes of his "philosophy of salvation," which arrived just a day prior, served as his final support. Are you familiar with the life and work of this philosopher, and does his philosophy hold any sense to you?

I haven't dug into his theories before, but honestly, there's a massive hole in his logic. Here's why it doesn't track:
If someone is fundamentally against sex, then humanity eventually hits a dead end. No reproduction means no more people. I'm setting aside the issue of assault for a moment—because if we go there, his ancestors wouldn't have existed either. If he doesn't exist, his ancestors don't exist. If nothing exists, suicide becomes a redundant concept; you can't destroy something that isn't there. That should have been step one in his reasoning. If suicide is supposedly the ultimate act of "living," but there was no procreation to get him here, who is left to pull the trigger after him? It's pretty clear this stems from psychological issues.
It doesn't necessarily need them. If the structure is under 100 square feet and lacks actual walls, windows, or doors, it’s basically just a canopy or a lean-to. You could technically put up some walls, but without windows, the city would likely just classify it as a tool shed—a simple structure that doesn't trigger the need for a building permit. I don't have the exact specs memorized, so you'd have to dig through the local building codes, but I think the threshold is somewhere between 100 and 150 square feet.

@Steven Young23, if I'm reading this right, he didn't even build real walls. It's just some makeshift setup made out of rebar mesh.
I think so. Building codes generally require you to maintain the same setback from the property line as the existing structure. If your house sits right on the line, then they can too. But if your place is set back even just a few inches, they’d be forced to move their building to match your distance.

swiftpanther26 said:I totally get that, but man, those services can be so incredibly boring sometimes. I don't think that really has anything to do with being spiritual, I guess.🥱

It mostly comes down to the priest and the choir. If the choir sounds like they're just screeching cats, yeah, it’s going to suck. But if the music is actually good, it works. As for the clergy, if you're in Washington, D.C., go check out a service at Holy Spirit. They're all decent, but a few really know how to command a room. No boredom there—you just end up hanging on every word. Honestly, I sometimes feel bad when the sermon ends.

Mainly just to search files on one machine while I'm sitting at the other, and vice versa. Right now, it’s all a hassle—either lugging a thumb drive around or firing off emails for tiny documents. If they were linked, I could just grab what I need directly. It's not like my current setup is impossible, but still 🤷
