Trolling and constant nitpicking in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Nicholas King said:I won't multi-quote every single individual post—just a few collective observations here.

Does the specific label of a ban actually matter? I’d argue it does—because if it didn't, we wouldn't have distinct categories for off-topic posts, harassment, trolling, and so on; we’d just hand out an arbitrary number of penalty points and say goodbye. So, it seems someone, somewhere, decided that my thread actually had enough merit to warrant introducing a "ban taxonomy"—otherwise, the only rule this Forum would ever need to implement (copyright Jack) would be a simple "don't be a jerk."

But there's more to it—and here comes the part that’s easiest to mock: much like how every janitor nowadays gets rebranded as a "facilities manager," it isn't quite right to lump vastly different types of disruptive behavior under the single umbrella of "trolling," or to dress up completely different users in the same "troll" uniform. It might be funny, sure, but it’s just as counterproductive to the health of the community to label a harmless goofball and some absolute chaos-agent like Miles... oops, I mean 😁 Sarah.

Therefore, I still maintain that providing clearer definitions makes sense; this isn't merely about rebranding a "trolling ban" as a "discussion disruption ban."

One more thing: I made it very clear that formalizing the rules won't somehow prevent a moderator from acting like an idiot or a nuisance—after all, even "real" laws are subject to various legal interpretations, let alone the rules of an online community. I also explicitly stated that there will always be a "gray area" where arbitrary moderator judgment takes over—but the whole point is to ensure that this gray area is limited strictly to those instances where no specific rule exists to cover them.

Are you serious? 😕
I mean, I had my doubts from the jump, but damn. Honestly, they might as well just admit they're trolling.

"Trolling" is such a loose term, but I'm not sure if dragging things out over five hundred pages counts, or if we should just call it pure nonsense. It’s exhausting to read, honestly. But then again, you just can't look away. ☕

I'm talking about the sheer audacity of opening a brand new account and then, by the third freaking post, bragging about how "I've been on this Forum for ten years."

I guess that's considered peak cool right now. 😁
How can I optimize and speed up Reddit? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Please bring back the redirect to Bet at Home. 😍 I seriously should’ve just stopped playing around with it—it was so incredibly fast whenever I opened up a thread.
This current setup is just straight-up terrible.
Honestly, you messed up by switching things up mid-stream. You can't treat this like a series of disconnected events; therapy needs to be a continuous journey. It takes actual time to build a real rapport with your therapist, and you aren't going to solve deep-seated issues just by jumping from one provider to another like you're channel surfing.

When things started getting intense and heavy, that was actually the moment you should have dug in and stayed the course to work through it—even if you needed to lean on medication to make it bearable. Because look, you haven't actually gained anything from walking away. It’s like going to the dentist because you have a massive cavity, and the second they start drilling, you beg them to stop and just stuff the hole back up. Guess what? It still hurts, and the tooth is still rotten. You could have just asked for some local anesthesia (or meds) and finished the job properly.

p.s. You really need to lay this out for her. Trust me, there can be a massive breakthrough in therapy when you finally get honest about stuff like this. That’s literally part of the process. That feeling of "this isn't working at all" might actually be the catalyst that pushes you to a whole new level. Just give it a shot; you've got nothing to lose. Tell her exactly what you told us here.
So, how long have you been in therapy? Oh, my bad, I missed that part. You mentioned a year. Honestly, a year isn't really enough time when the issues you're dealing with didn't just pop up overnight. But let me ask you this—do you actually feel like you're heading somewhere? Like, do you feel any actual progress?

Look, psychotherapy can be a total grind. There are plenty of days where you'll sit there wondering what the hell the point is. But if you’ve actually found a competent therapist, it's worth the struggle. You get those genuine "aha!" moments and a sense of relief that goes way deeper than just venting to some random person who doesn't know what they're doing.

And regarding the whole parenting thing? Giving your kids absolutely everything can actually be just as damaging as giving them nothing at all. If that "giving" is totally irrational, you end up swinging between two extremes: either they live in a bubble like they're under a glass dome, or you just throw money at them and end up with a spoiled kid.

So, I went to grab that script of yours, right? I didn't see any ads at first because I had my ad blocker cranked up, but now they're popping up everywhere. And the worst part? I can't even toggle the blocker back on without the whole damn forum getting nuked. 🙂

Is this some kind of guessing game? 😍 🙏

edit: I haven't just arrived here, I've been around for a long time, and I honestly have no clue who anyone is talking about! 🤣

Honestly, I don't know either. And frankly, I don't need to. 🤷 I already get how the whole system works.

Like, she was the one who jumped into the thread in the first place, so it's a pretty fair question to ask her.

Look, I was the new kid on the block once too. 😍

Anyway, I'm done talking about it.

northernpilot2 said:Gosh, what a mess, Tyler Grant76. Honestly, instead of dropping all those pointless posts that didn't actually accomplish anything, you really should have just given me the username of the person who was forgotten so we could fix the mistake if there even was one.
The way I see it, you basically just turned this whole thread into Tyler Grant76 versus mistywolf17.

So what, she should get a strike, a ban, or a partial suspension just because she said "other people's bans aren't my business"?
I'm wondering if we're looking at potential signs of a tumor here. We’re talking about an elderly person who’s been dealing with abdominal pain for a few days now. As for the lungs, they had some shadows on them a while back—some form of tuberculosis (they aren't a smoker)—but that was treated and cleared up a long time ago.

Radiology report:

On the summation imaging of the thoracic organs, there are several small, oval soft-tissue shadows seen perihilar on the right and in the caudal spread of the right hilus—summation effects, or perhaps nodular shadows?
The domes are well-aligned and positioned. Free costophrenic sinuses.
The heart shadow width is within normal limits, though the ascending aorta shadow appears prominent.

On the standing plain abdominal X-ray, there is one air-fluid level in the ileocecal region, with meteoritic loops of bowel without distension and no pneumoperitoneum.

WBC=5.1; Erythrocyte=4.16, Hb=128, Hct=0.83, MCV=92.1, MCH=30.8, MCHC=334, RDW=12.1, Platelets=161, MPV=10.3, Glucose=5.2, Urea=3.0, Creatinine=55, Bilirubin=8, Amylase(S)=29, CRP=2.7

Diagnosis: Chronic cholelithiasis
Suspicious for colon neoplasm.
Email address? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
So, let me get this straight: if I leave an email address that’s literally just my username, the post gets nuked because they suspect I'm leaking someone else's private info? 🤣 I am honestly speechless.

Charles Morris4 said:So, what’s the actual difference between what he's saying and Euclid?

Disklejmer: I'm not a fan of either approach, honestly—but I don't see the distinction here, especially since both of them were just rehashing stuff that had already blown up in other threads.

Does the actual content being dragged out determine whether it's "primitive and cowardly" (man, that sounds weird to type out now)? Because, at the end of the day, the principle is exactly the same.

Look, it’s not the same thing to say someone is married just because they posted it in another thread, versus outing who’s hooking up with whom among the users or mods if they haven't explicitly shared that info on Reddit.

The whole Euclid situation actually happens all the time on this site—someone starts a thread, people dig through their history, and then they're like, "Aha! You're a troll; you were saying something totally different over there." I don't see anything controversial about that.

If I'm even following this correctly. 🤔

dustycrane8 said:The real issue here is that a moderator is leveraging their authority to do something that neither of us has the power to do. From that perspective, it’s never okay.

(Just so we're clear, this specific thread hasn't been deleted. I'm just speaking hypothetically.)

Well, she didn't say it anywhere.

Susan Price30 said:Let’s look at an analogy: suppose you wrote something in some random thread three or five years ago—is it really okay for a moderator to dig that up and parade it around just because they have the power to? Seriously.😁

The photo in question was just a picture of my feet, so it's not like anyone is going to identify me based on that, 🤣, but this is about principle. It's about whether we follow the rules or if we tolerate mistakes whenever a Moderator decides to slip up.

Just think about it... how "infallible" and fair are they actually? Even the Pope isn't perfect.🙏

Look, regarding Grazio, it’s not even about an uploaded photo; it’s just a link to the specific thread where she used to post them. So, if that thread actually got nuked, then all of us moderators are basically flying blind without our badges on. 😬

The only way this becomes an issue is if there's some rule against linking back to archived threads... 🤷

Harold Wright8 said:You don't get to question that. Even when a mother yells at you, she's doing it because she cares. Sure, she might get pissed off about some random nonsense—whatever, that's just life.

And what, is that some kind of universal truth now? Clearly, you’ve got some serious mother issues going on. Let's be real: no one on this planet can mess up a kid quite like a mother can. There, I said it. So much for your "wisdom." 😉

brightridge59 said:I find it absolutely fascinating how a situation involving someone receiving a partial ban can somehow spiral back into being labeled as "unusual behavior" by certain moderators, who then proceed to openly display their intolerance toward those individuals with such a wonderful, deeply personal underlying bias. 🍿

It’s honestly fascinating how you all insist on making everything about yourselves. Truly, deeply fascinating. And why you do it? Well, that’s a mystery known only to you people. If I recall correctly, back when I openly went toe-to-toe with mistypanther on two different topics a long time ago, I ended up getting slapped with a handful of insults before my posts were nuked. I guess I was just "personally motivated" back then too, right? Absolutely ridiculous.

Look, as far as I'm concerned, I was just trying to point out the blatant double standards here. Your petty gossip doesn't mean a thing to me.

So, we’ve got two female moderators running the show here in the States. It’s pretty interesting—when things were hitting the absolute peak of pure insanity, neither of you bothered to weigh in once. Honestly, it probably just matches whatever vibe or writing style you guys prefer. But if that’s actually the case, I’m genuinely curious: why was the tone toned down later, and why is everyone calling that move "nice of them"?

mistywolf17 said:Regarding the "picking on people" part, I was talking about boldwalker12 since you were quoting her post anyway. I assumed you'd catch that. And I know you did. But if you did, how could you then write "sad"? Honestly.

As for you, that's just my opinion, especially since we had a similar debate about this very thing recently. We didn't understand each other then, either.

@boldwalker12, what, is the fact that I edit my posts your main argument now? Sorry, my thoughts are a bit slow, so I go back and add to them later. Whatever. 😢
You still haven't clarified anything. You don't have to, but there it is—I've stated my opinion on that approach.

Of course it isn't.
The thing you’re clinging to so desperately wasn't even my main point; I just mentioned it in passing. Honestly, I didn't even need to bring it up because it's practically nothing compared to the absolute circus that went down on the US forums. That whole mess about the ads bled into all these other fake-deep topics, and it got so bad that a woman who had the nerve to say she wanted a guy who was hot and financially stable got torn to shreds—mercilessly, I might add—for like ten pages straight. And that "writing style" you're defending? It wasn't "style," it was straight-up insults, spitting on people, and total character assassination.

Things just kept escalating until the whole thing finally blew up. I swear, I've never seen that much pure aggression on any forum before.

And once the explosion hit its peak—once people (who weren't even part of the inner circle) started getting fed up with that "style"—everything was suddenly swept under the rug by the moderation of one of the actual bullies.

When you realize that some of the moderators were the ones fueling this toxic atmosphere while others conveniently vanished or stayed silent right when things got heated, the whole situation feels pretty nasty and gross.

So after all your trash-talking, bullying, and insulting—which you keep calling "style"—you really think my argument is just some pathetic troll thread? Give me a break. 😁

mistywolf17 said:It's because things are mentioned halfway and never fully explained. What else could the reason be? I'm quite familiar with this kind of poking.
I asked about that supposed troll thread on the US forum—the one a moderator apparently started using a clone—and I didn't get an answer. How would she even know about it if I, as a moderator, don't know? And why would she go out of her way to provoke people by hinting at who did what?

BTW, aren't you in the loop regarding forum gossip? How do you even know forum gossip exists?

Oh, come on, please. 😁

Haven't I already explained the difference? Well, yes, I have.
Is my inconsistency simply that the classifieds topic was allowed to survive regardless of my opinion on it, while on the other hand, I just don't like clones and trolls posting fake ads and misleading people? Okay.

What exactly is that passive-aggressive tone supposed to mean?

Look, I’m not attacking you. But since you’re hell-bent on making this some kind of personal vendetta, I don't see any point in dragging this out. Not to mention how many times you've edited your posts just now—calling my points lies, then deleting them, and then coming back later to claim I have "ulterior motives." 🤦

I gotta admit, though, I definitely didn't see a reaction like this coming.

mistywolf17 said:That’s all I have to say about that. 😕

Look, I really don't follow all the forum gossip or who is feuding with whom, so I honestly can't speak to anyone's underlying motives or any private drama between moderators that might be causing these half-truths. It seems like people are just trying to drag the entire moderation team of this subforum into the mud. If you have a specific issue with how the Lonely Heart section is being run, then just lay it all out there and be done with it. But don't do this.

I’m not either. What I was getting at is pretty obvious the second you land on this subforum. I shouldn't even have to scream "The Emperor has no clothes" at you, especially since you're a moderator.

I don't have any issues here besides what I just said. For instance, I didn't see Jeffrey Cooper7 tearing anyone apart or calling them some deranged names. 🤷
Just so we're clear, I'm not playing defense for anyone; I just can't stand double standards.

And honestly, that’s everything I’ve got to say about it.

mistywolf17 said:Are you really asking me that? Since I have absolutely no idea whose "private circus" you're referring to—which moderator, which clone, or which thread—I don't really know how to respond. Put the links out in the open. 😉

Hey, feel free to call it whatever you want. Honestly, it’s almost worth the effort just to dig through all this garbage—half of which was deleted before anyone could even get a reaction—just to see someone actually get rewarded for it.
