Sure, maybe it's niche globally, but on a continental scale, it’s one of the big ones. For a sport that pulls crowds in Spain, France, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Russia, and across the former Yugoslavia, you can't exactly call it insignificant... 🤷
Or are all sports "marginal" if they aren't played by the English or Americans? 😁
Anyway, back to the main point: in my opinion, Vlašić's letter was completely unnecessary. Why does he even need validation? It's like he's doing this just to feel appreciated. You'd think his daughter's success would be enough satisfaction without him stressing over stuff like this. He had a point when he noted they missed some of his achievements, but instead, he wrote a letter basically attacking them for why he isn't the best coach. He should have just pointed out the data errors rather than whining about being the top coach, which is really just an indirect way of belittling Kostelić. Though, I do agree with him on one thing: being elite in men's skiing is a much tougher climb than being a top high jumper...
I don't really bet through online sportsbooks, but I'm thinking about making the switch since the terms seem way better than what I find at my local shops. I was wondering if anyone here who actually knows their stuff could weigh in: how does the selection for "both teams to score" or "team to score" in soccer look online compared to what you get at local spots like FanDuel or Lotto? Which sites even carry those markets, and are the odds actually better than our local options? It’s a big deal for me because that’s mostly what I play, so there's no point switching to an online platform if the variety is worse.
Why was the thread about betting sites moved to the chat topic? The chat is just for messing around, making jokes, and casual banter between members—not for actual discussions. They let all kinds of topics stay here, yet this one—which is actually meaningful and covers stuff most people don't know—gets shoved into the chat where it’ll just get buried under a mountain of random posts.
We even have someone here who actually works in the industry. I doubt he's making it up, and honestly, this thread could be a goldmine for learning how odds are set and how the whole system really functions...
I really don't see the point in moving this. It’s directly related to betting sites and clearly caught people's interest, judging by how many comments flooded the chat topic. What's the actual reason for moving it? 🤷
Something interests me about how this works... Santana and the guys in that massive fight automatically scored 100 points just because they drew a parallel to what went down at the local stadium. Then you have Vojky, the supermoderator, coming in and making a comparison between Warsaw and the situation in Dresden, even copying over a whole text about those events in Germany where building a bridge was blocked because of some damn beavers. So, drawing comparisons to an event in Germany is fine, but comparing things to the stadium is out of bounds? Or is it just about who is doing the comparing? If the rules were actually applied equally to everyone, Vojky should have gotten 100 points—aka a ban—for that post.
Meanwhile, most of the warnings on the Warsaw thread happened because people were just repeating the exact same clichés that trolls like Adler and Tactum were getting away with weeks ago on the stadium thread. Either posts get flagged when it's obvious someone isn't being sincere and is just mocking others, or we leave the guy alone who actually holds those views toward protesters and fans, simply because he's too dim to understand irony, so we don't bother hitting him with a warning...

Look, this forum drama is just a mirror of how they actually treat us in real life. If a few guys decide to make troll accounts just to mess with hypocrites who ban some people while letting others slide, then the mods on the Sports and FIFA boards are the ones responsible. To them, we're all just one big target...
In the real world, community leaders should kick hooligans out of their organizations. On a forum, the mods over on Sports and FIFA shouldn't let people from those sections get into beefs with the admins over in Politics...
They look at us like we're some marked group, all sharing the exact same views and behaviors, whether it's here on the board or out in the streets...
And all this nitpicking—digging through old PDF archives of chat logs that don't even matter just to hunt for "irregularities"—says way more about the people doing the digging than anyone else.
Bottom line: the fans just gave you another lesson. One lesson was about having arguments, and the second was about a level of trolling that some people just can't wrap their heads around... 👍
A little Azra to wrap things up... 🙂
how stupid you are how arrogant you are, my dear judging my feelings how ugly you are in your immaturity, my dear exposed furious misunderstood on your face, a great nothing celebrates and even if you live a thousand years, you won't succeed far from the truth you are far from the truth...
He looked rough during the first half. Honestly, based on how they were playing, staying within striking distance of the score was a miracle. Then the offense finally woke up.
The Americans are better, and honestly, it’d be a shock if we pulled an upset. But maybe that’s our edge—all the pressure is on them...
Just making it to the finals is massive. When you look at all the big powerhouses that couldn't even touch a semifinal, this is huge. The US is arguably the best team on the planet right now, so I'm not holding my breath for tomorrow...
But I wouldn't bet the house that the Americans won't find their rhythm again. We can't play like this for ninety minutes straight. Plus, we all know how much we tend to fluctuate...
Mike is playing out of his mind today, and I really hope Kopljar doesn't get too much run time in the second half because he’s basically a non-factor offensively...
They also really need to start letting the wings loose and actually create some plays...
Classic American style. Just when everyone writes them off and they least expect it, they explode...
I'm just worried they might loosen up too much and fly too high...
The guys from Lubbock made the call today.. Allen and Bennett 🙏 🙏
But you have to give credit to Bailey; even though he's getting older, he plays so smart. He doesn't waste possessions, scores when it counts, dishes assists, draws fouls and penalties, and uses his authority to influence the refs... He’s been excellent in this tournament.
I hope Linus has finally seen the light and that Kopljar only gets playing time when Bennett needs a breather...
Linus can get under people's skin, and people can complain about who he isn't calling up, but the man has an incredible track record that keeps him in the driver's seat. 10 competitions, 9 semifinals, and one 5th place finish with just a single loss... That's massive success...
It's about time we grabbed the gold again after all this time...
Who's going to be able to handle Charles' speech in Times Square.... 🤣
Joseph Clark37 said:Do you really think they could pull off a gold medal like that?
I’m just messing with the people who are being overly critical here... 😁
We aren't exactly playing out of our minds, but other national teams are struggling too, and we've seen plenty of upsets. For example, the Spaniards play x against the Frenchmen, then the Poles crush the Spaniards, and then the Frenchmen beat the Poles. So far, nobody has proven they're a clear favorite.
If we keep playing the way we did today, we have a shot at gold... But honestly, I expect both semifinals to be decided by just a goal or two. It'll be hard for any of the remaining four teams to claim they're guaranteed the gold, though in my eyes, the Frenchmen are slightly ahead of the pack...
Offense is completely stagnant, defense is a mess, Spearman is just wandering around out there, and we’ve got three or four guys sitting on the bench who could actually contribute right now. We’re in the semifinals without a single loss, yet this is how we look... 🤣
Yeah, maybe we’ll see it happen before our big game. This tournament is anyone's game right now; it wouldn't shock me at all if Norway pulls off a win against Iceland...
Especially since the Norwegians actually have a fighting chance here. Their only real issue is that if they win, they basically hand us a spot in the semifinals. If that happens, our guys might not give it their all against the Danes... 😁
So, I wouldn't be surprised if Norway pushes us into the semis, only for us to fail to return the favor later on... 😬
That is, unless our team keeps a close eye on how the other group shakes out. They might decide to push for first place just to dodge playing someone like France in the semifinals instead..
That's the dream, honestly, because their style of play is a total nightmare for us to deal with...
