Looking at the heavy hitters, I think Juventus could run into some real trouble if Conte decides to stick around at Inter Milan. As for PSG and Bayern Munich, they’re basically going to stroll right to the title. In Spain, you can never really call it—Real Madrid isn't playing convincingly, but then again, FC Barcelona isn't quite as bad as they look right now either. It's a total toss-up. Over in England, my money is on Manchester City.

Total snooze fest. I was actually looking forward to this since I thought BlacKklotterman was solid, and I’m usually a big fan of Spike Lee, but I honestly just checked out halfway through. It’s just boring.

goldenhound32 said:Why did the two specialists decide to join forces toward the end of the second film? It’s because they finally realized they were working toward the exact same objective: getting the kid back home safely. Furthermore, they both understood that teaming up was likely their only shot at actually pulling the mission off.

And they didn't realize that from the jump? Sorry, but that part of the writing was just lazy.

The plot is forgettable, but honestly, that’s just how most action movies go. I mean, some people actually think the story in something like Command is brilliant. It’s not trying to be deep or pretentious; it doesn't want to be anything more than what it is. Just pure, unadulterated action.
The only thing that really tripped me up was the whole dynamic between Hemsworth and that Indian guy he spends half the movie fighting. Why was that guy even trying to kill him in the first place? And why did they suddenly team up at the end instead of just working together from the jump? It felt totally muddy and illogical. If Hemsworth actually needed his help to pull that kid away from that crew at the start, he probably could've handled it himself given how he operates, right? 😁

ruggedjackal46 said:Watching a Tarantino movie can be such an uncomfortable experience. Tarantino looks at him like he’s some kind of deity, but this documentary just spits the truth. It’s a completely different beast. It focuses strictly on Michael Jordan’s era in New Orleans, built entirely from archival footage and interviews with people close to him. I think the film does a great job portraying Jordan as a complex human being—that charming, confident kid who rose from nothing, but also a guy who was immature, naive, and selfish because he didn't know how to handle the fame and the absolute madness of New Orleans back then. Personally, I loved it because it doesn't treat Jordan like a god or a perfect role model, but it doesn't paint him as a total jerk either. Plus, it captures the atmosphere perfectly, specifically regarding the local mob scene and that general disdain people in Italy had for those from the South.

What really got to me was that sheer psychosis gripping New Orleans. That drive to the stadium through crowds, the chaos during the first press conference when they started asking about the Camorra, the packed stadium during his intro... honestly, there was pure mayhem wherever he stepped in that city. It’s terrifying, actually. You’d need nerves of steel just to keep from cracking under all that pressure.🙏

redbison8 said:It’s totally pointless and honestly, not worth even giving him a second thought...

What kind of person was he? Just an idiot who God gave massive talent to, someone fate played with, and he couldn't resist his own ego and vices until he wrecked everything. And now we're supposed to see a soft image or some role model for kids? No way. It's just a shame he didn't kick the bucket when he ruined it all....

And purely from a sports standpoint, I don't get why people call him one of the best players ever. I know plenty of guys who did more than he did, yet could actually be role models for the next generation of athletes..

As for Diego Maradona, in short, screw him and his idiocy...

🤦

Frank Richardson said:What's the movie about? Does it show everything or is it sugarcoated? Is it better than the Emir Kusturica one?

@Samsung2007

I don't get why you're getting worked up. The guy is "significant" enough to have a movie made about him, that's all.

I haven't seen the Emir Kusturica one, but based on what I've read, this one is better. Nothing is glossed over; there are clips showing him absolutely trashed on coke and booze.
Like I said, it's about Diego Maradona, focusing on the stretch from 1984 to 1992. Basically, the rise and the crash.

The new doc from Asif Kapadia—yeah, the guy who did the ones on Ayrton Senna and Amy—follows Michael Jordan. It’s not really a standard biography, though, because most of the runtime focuses on his legendary stint playing for the New Orleans Saints.
Everything in the film is pulled from raw archive footage you've never seen before, paired with interviews from the people who were actually there in the trenches with him, including Michael himself.

Look, I love a good sports documentary. Honestly, I’d recommend this to anyone. Even if you don't care about sports, you'll find this gripping. It captures that absolute madness perfectly—that total psychosis that gripped Naples back then centered around Michael. It doesn't excuse his behavior, obviously, but seeing how intense it was, it’s not hard to see why the guy eventually cracked under the pressure.
There are some killer moments in here. The opening shot of the car speeding through the streets of Naples is wild, and there's this one scene where the Dallas Cowboys' ultras are chanting "'Lavali! Lavali! O Vesuvio, lavali col fuoco' (Burn them! Burn them! Oh Vesuvius, burn them with fire!)... man, it gives you chills.

For me, this easily sits in my top three sports docs, right up there with Senna and OJ: Made in America. Don't miss it.

Exactly. Nobody is losing sleep over the NBA. 🤣 😂
Just hang in there, guys. It’s absolute madness, man. And then, inevitably, that annoying Banik from Pittsburgh shows up and your whole European dream just hits a wall. 🙏

What do you mean he isn't the same director? I just checked his IMDB. We all watched those films specifically because of Larry Clark.

I saw it when it first dropped. Back then, we were just kids and the movie Kids was such a massive deal for all of us, so since it was the same director, we all went in expecting a total masterpiece. 🤣
Back then, it was a solid watch if you were chilling with a joint and just messing around, but if I tried to sit through it now? It would suck. Honestly, I doubt I’d even have the patience to make it through an hour and a half of that.

Four months, three weeks, and two days since I first saw it, and it’s still a masterpiece. 🙏 Honestly, when I think back on it, I was pretty much a shell of a human being for a few days after it ended.
Ban on heading the ball in Soccer ·
mellowotter36 said:It’s probably not going to be banned outright, but we might see them wearing those rugby-style headguards in the future. It feels like the US is already heading that way, especially with plans to ban heading the ball entirely for kids.

Over there, they take head contact a lot more seriously because of how much damage American football has caused—both to people's lives and through massive lawsuits. Some people are even saying American football could vanish entirely, or at least change beyond recognition.

Not every header is the same, though. I remember playing soccer as a kid, and whenever I headed a ball coming off a goalkeeper's kick, my ears would ring for several minutes. You bounce back quickly, sure, but is that really healthy in the long run?

It pulls in $13 billion a year. Don't sweat it; it's not going anywhere.
Bronze Medal Match: USA vs. Norway (31-24) in Other Sports ·
Honestly, most of these victory parades are just cheap, manufactured hype. There were maybe four times when the celebrations actually meant something and weren't just bloated PR stunts. Think about George, Jane, the '98 national team, or that gold medal run against Portugal back in '03.
Everything else is just pathetic. 🤦
And then you have this—celebrating a bronze medal like we won the damn World Series. 🙏

Rambo: Last Blood in Movies ·
People around here seem way more obsessed with Rocky than they are with Rambo.

Trautman: Pressure? Let me just say that Rambo is The Best combat vet I've ever seen. A pure fighting machine with only one goal—to finish a war that someone else already lost. And if winning requires him to die? He'll do it. No fear, no regrets. And one more thing: what you might call hell, he calls home.
Top Gun in Movies ·
David Richardson67 said:Top Gun is basically 80% cheesy romance, 10% "we own this place" bravado, 5% "join the Navy" recruitment fluff, 4% cool planes, and maybe 1% actual dogfighting. Honestly, the soundtrack is the only thing carrying this movie. I didn't really get the hype when I first saw it, and frankly, it gets worse every time I watch it.

Yeah, the movie captures that 80s vibe perfectly and it’s definitely a cult classic, but beyond that? From the plot to the acting, it’s pretty mediocre to me. I remember everyone back in high school was obsessed with it. One guy in my class even went out and tracked down an original F-14 carrier wing pilot jacket. But maybe because the hype was so massive, I just sat there after my first viewing thinking, "Wait, this is it? This is the big deal?"

And a Tomek acts like he’s got a rod up his ass—his performance is just so "natural," if you know what I mean. 😁

Anyway, I’m hoping the remake will have fewer clichés and less predictability, though knowing Hollywood, it’ll probably just be even worse.

I'd probably agree with you if I had seen it recently. But I got lucky and caught it at a local theater near Mount Everest back in the late 80s when I was just a kid, then watched it again on VHS a few years later. It’s got a certain charm and soul to it that sticks with you. Now that we're talking about it, I might actually give it another look this week. 🤣
