I’m honestly just sitting here waiting for that first Russian win in F1 history🙏

Picture that podium though... a Polish guy and his buddy, the Spanish person🙏

Jason Campbell70 said:@Edward Howard2 - look, this whole thread is just meant to be informative. The question asked here was actually directed at the Reddit editorial team, not you personally.--.

I just used your profile as an example.

Cheers! 🙂

So, here’s the part from your PDF snippet where you basically prove this is all about me. It looks like you're just settling a personal score by hiding behind the admins and supermods on the subforum, even though you claim you opened this thread because you're worried about people badmouthing the site.
Jason Campbell70 said:@Edward Howard2, you've got your own thread now. ☕

It seems like once that partial ban was lifted, you jumped right back into the trolling, the arguing, and starting pointless threads—the exact stuff that got you kicked from the subforum in the first place. Just some friendly advice: maybe take a breather now that you're unbanned? If you keep communicating like this, you're honestly just begging to get that partial ban slapped back on you.😉

Look, I’m just sharing my own two cents and what I’ve personally dealt with regarding this service provider's pricing. Sharing bad experiences is actually encouraged here on Reddit, so I'm definitely not breaking any rules by speaking my truth.

Also, I’m not telling anyone which specific company they should stick with—there are plenty of options out there. Since I’m not giving a direct shout-out to any single business, I’m clearly not violating the rules against advertising.

As for these threads, I’ve had this signature and avatar for ages, and the Reddit editorial team hasn't said a word about it, which means it’s fine. Given that this whole thread popped up right when Jason Campbell70's partial ban was being lifted over on the F1 PDF, it’s pretty obvious this is just a targeted hit job. It feels less like a discussion and more like a personal grudge match. Honestly, my suggestion to the supermods and admins is to just lock this thing down. The person who started this deserves a strike or a ban for intentionally starting pointless drama and trolling everyone.

Is it against the rules to trash talk ISPs? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
granitefox16 said:Look, the real issue is that football is just broken across the board. Seriously, imagine if I went over to the Formula 1 forums right now and started deleting every single thread where people are trashing Lewis Hamilton? It’s all the same mess.🤣

I mean, you can definitely look at that PDF as a perfect example of just how low-level this whole debate has gotten.

And all this is coming from some guy who’s clearly running an anti-VIP campaign with his whole avatar and signature setup.🤣

See, that’s exactly where you went wrong... if you had just stuck to criticizing the service provider—kind of like how I lay out my gripes in my signature—nobody would be coming after you.
granitefox16 said:hollowtrucker77, seriously, can you please just wipe out Edward Howard2's posts? He’s gonna totally wreck this thread if he keeps going.

Look, he should just start a whole new thread for this nonsense and report my posts there. Seriously, what does my chat history have to do with this topic anyway?

It’s not even about me.

Look, I know I hit the nail on the head regarding why this whole mess is happening, which is probably exactly why you wanted me to delete it. But let's be real—this thread is all about you and that trashy post of yours that got you banned in the first place.

Hey, don't sweat it. Honestly, I've said my piece and I'm gonna stop right there. There's really no point in me dragging this out any further—it wouldn't even make sense to file an appeal if I kept rambling on like this anyway. 😁

That’s pretty much all I’ve got to say on this topic. 👋
Best ways to save money right now? in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Gregory Roberts17 said:Thinking about opening a new account, but I'm undecided on which bank. Does anyone know which one offers the best savings rates? Need something secure too, especially with this recession hitting. 😁

About a year ago, I did a deep dive into all the banks and credit unions across America. Back then, the absolute winner for fixed-term savings was Brod Bank. Rates have definitely shifted since then, but I doubt the competitive landscape between the big players has changed all that much.
Right now, Brod is offering 6.5% for a 1-year term, plus some extra perks if you deposit larger amounts. Honestly, I don't think you'll find anything better unless you catch a limited-time promo (for instance, Wells Fargo is matching that 6.5% for a year, but that deal expires in about ten days)
As for safety, the FDIC insures deposits up to $133333, so as long as you stay under that limit, you can sleep easy.😁

I'm not just talking nonsense. I haven't spent a single post defending how Maminho insulted people. I actually know who he targeted better than you do. He even went after F1 legend Seb, who turned out to be a much bigger man by moving past it and showing him support during his last shot at glory. If Seb can forgive him, I don't see why you care so much about who was insulted when it wasn't even you.
Maminho definitely said some stupid stuff, but hey, he expressed regret and is asking for forgiveness for those comments. I'm just one of those people who believes things can be fixed if you actually give someone a fair shake.

It looks like the soccer crowd has teamed up to turn this thread into their own personal offside trap. They’re out here insulting people and spamming the board, all under the wing of one of the biggest trolls on the site—who also happens to be a moderator, Leonard Nimoy. Honestly, they’re clearly just trying to force a shutdown of this topic, so I figured the best move is to just lay out the facts and call it what it is...

12 regulars from the F1 subforum weighed in on Maminho’s status.
12 folks from the F1 section voted in favor of letting Maminho back into the Formula 1 discussions.
That includes two moderators—one current and one former F1 mod—and both of them are backing the decision to keep Maminho banned.

Everyone else chiming in? Just people who don't care, people who wouldn't have any connection to Maminho even if he were unbanned, or those soccer fans who just drifted over here specifically to troll.

So, it’s safe to say Maminho has the absolute, 100% support of the entire F1 community, including the mods. Now, it’s totally up to the site admins to decide if they’ll let him back into the F1 subforum or not.

Michelle Palmer6 said:I think you’re forgetting about that whole situation right after the permanent ban, when Maminho set up a clone account under a different nickname! I am absolutely thrilled to be here! I’ve been following the racing scene for ages, and there is just nothing quite like the adrenaline of a high-stakes race weekend. It truly gets my heart racing! He was posting freely on both the OS and NASCAR boards, even though anyone with half a brain could tell it was him. Even some of the football moderators were also active over on the OS side. Everything was running smoothly until that one Alonsista fan decided to drift over to the football section—acting exactly like his mama would expect—only to get slapped with a permanent ban immediately. Of course, that triggered a massive wave of bans for his next dozen or so clones, too!
So, he actually had the exact opportunity you’re advocating for—but let’s be honest, he completely blew it. And just a side note here: if we were talking about banning him from just one NASCAR forum, that would basically trigger a partial ban across almost all the others, or at least most of them. Trust me, nobody is going to do you a favor like that for a spammer who’s already been permanently banned!
Greetings to everyone!

Look, it’s not even about him being a "nuisance" to me personally. Honestly, I’ve reached a point where I can just tune stuff like that out. The real issue here is his behavior—it was downright delinquent. He was being incredibly rude and basically flouting every single rule of standard internet etiquette, common sense, and basic decency. As for the idea of banning him or unbanning him based on whether he's "relatively constructive" in one specific subforum while being a total menace everywhere else? To be blunt, I think that logic is just plain foolish.
And let’s be honest, that whole "one more shot" political strategy stopped working for Momma a long time ago!

Wait, hold on! Just to be clear, we're talking about Other Sports here—this definitely isn't football!

From what I can see, he's only active in a few specific areas: the sports boards and TV (plus, obviously, the gossip threads 😁). So, it wouldn't be a huge deal to just slap a partial ban on soccer and the other sports sections to solve the problem. I'm not sure about the TV section, but I doubt anyone there would even notice if he showed up, assuming he even posts there.
It’s not quite the same thing as alonsista, though. If Manny Pacquiao actually got unbanned, I bet he'd think twice before making a clone for the soccer section and risking a permanent ban that would be final—not to mention losing the support of the guys over in Formula 1.

And besides, it's already been said...
As if it’s even hard to permaban him again if he starts acting up.

Just a few mouse clicks.😉

Michelle Palmer6 said:First off, do you have any idea how many clone accounts he made? I honestly stopped counting after the 20th one.
Second, he was straight-up insulting and threatening the moderators over in the Football section—who, by the way, have absolutely zero tolerance for his antics, both before and after his permanent ban.
Third, he flooded and spammed almost every single thread he touched, often using incredibly vulgar and offensive language toward other users. It was borderline pathological!
All of this happened right here on the main site, where the general community rules apply to every single subforum and every corner of the platform.
Partial bans are usually reserved for trolls who just want to derail one specific discussion thread. But this guy? He proved himself a problem time and time again across multiple sections, including Football, Tech Support, and even during the Euro 2008 discussions. He even had partial bans in your section too!

Doesn't everything bolded here fall under the same category—the Football thread?🤷
That’s exactly what we're talking about right here...
It looks like you and the other guy who chimed in earlier (Ono) are just regulars from the Football board who clearly can't stand the guy. Meanwhile, everyone else jumping in is from the NASCAR section, and they’re all 100% teamed up to get maminho's permanent ban lifted.
Most of the suggestions were actually aimed at letting him post in NASCAR while keeping him banned from Football. That way, he wouldn't be bothering you or your crew at all. Since neither you nor Ono ever post in the NASCAR section anyway, you really shouldn't be losing any sleep over maminho showing up there.😉

Just like my esteemed colleagues following Formula 1, I’m suggesting we let him have access there, but keep him away from the soccer discussions. That way, everyone stays happy.

Maminho isn't causing any trouble in Formula 1, so he should be left alone.

Best,
G

He really isn't bothering anyone, and it would be totally fine if they just let him back onto the Formula 1 subreddits

stormybadger8 said:He was causing trouble over on our Formula 1 subreddits too, but that was ages ago. He’s not solely to blame here; his biggest mistake was getting hooked on trolling and then biting back just as hard. Before this permanent ban, I didn't see him posting any nonsense on the Formula 1 page. Actually, he'd mellowed out quite a bit compared to when he first started posting; he was mostly fine there. He was great at starting threads before every race 👍, and he even came up with the subreddit Formula 1 Championship and F1 tournament 🙏 👍, which are awesome competitions I participate in myself. From what I hear, the ban happened because of issues he supposedly caused over on the Soccer subreddit. I don't hang out there, so I don't know the specifics, but as a regular user on the Formula 1 page—one of the most active ones, if not *the* most active—I think he should be let back in.
Just give him a temporary suspension on the Soccer subreddit if he's bothering the soccer fans or the mods there, and call it a day.

In that case, I'm pretty sure he won't bother making clones or causing drama on the soccer page again.

As a regular over in the Formula 1 sub, I'm totally on board with this. He definitely needs a ban from the soccer boards since he clearly isn't on the same wavelength as those moderators. And honestly? If he tries to make a clone account for soccer, he should get an immediate permanent ban on his main handle with zero chance for appeal. I bet that would kill the support he’s currently getting from the Formula 1 crowd too.
In the meantime, since the last time he got banned, he's actually grown up a bit. Maybe if he gets one last shot, he can finally turn a new leaf in his forum life.

Personally, Toyota looks like a better bet.🤷

They've seen huge growth over the last few years because of those two championships, but let's be real—this year's NASCAR results definitely aren't hitting the mark they wanted. You can tell even Ford only needed half a mediocre season before deciding they were totally done investing in NASCAR.

My request to appeal the ban from the Formula 1 subforum in Feedback & Suggestions ·
As far as I’m concerned...
I’ve been hanging out in the Formula 1 subforum pretty regularly, both before and after Pilatus got banned. If there's one thing I can say for sure, it's that the amount of pointless arguing and drama has dropped off a cliff since he was kicked out. He was basically the ringleader for most of those petty fights, constantly stirring the pot and picking issues with other users. Not to mention, he spent half his time being a total nuisance by nitpicking everyone's typos. People type fast, you know? It wasn't like they were illiterate; he just made a huge deal out of minor mistakes, which was honestly just exhausting to deal with.
Bottom line: I think the Formula 1 section actually became a much better place to hang out once he left. It would be a real shame if we lifted the ban and let everything slide right back to how messy it was a year ago. As someone who spends a lot of time browsing that subforum, my two cents is that the ban should stay in place. But hey, obviously, it's not my call to make...

My request to appeal the ban from the Formula 1 subforum in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Since my buddy maminho got hit with a permanent ban, he asked me to drop his message here for him...

"Hey Pilatus, what's up, man? Look, as far as I'm concerned, they should totally bring him back. I was already shouting for his return way back when I still had a full head of hair.
But honestly, all this constant bashing about Michael Schumacher is getting a little out of hand.
If you want to feel awkward about it, hey, I won't stop you.

I'm pulling for Fernando, so I won't complain as much as you guys.

P.S.
To the mods and admins—any chance we could look into lifting my ban? I really don't think I earned it.
First off, just give me a dedicated corner to vent where the banned users can hang out.

One thing I'm certain of—people on this F1 forum would much rather deal with me than Pilatus anyway.

Stay awesome, everyone.

Hoping my maminho handle gets unbanned soon.

BMW hasn't looked particularly sharp since the season kicked off.☕

Kubica probably would've cruised into second place in Australia if Vettel hadn't smashed into him. Then in Malaysia, Nick Heidfeld snagged P2, but Kubica had another DNF.

It just feels like pure bad luck for Kubica over the last two races. If he stays out of trouble tomorrow, he's definitely in the points.😛
