Multi-quote rule in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Where does it say that?

btw, saying "people aren't to blame" isn't really true—everyone chooses their own level of how much they actually follow the rules, and honestly, every moderator has that discretion to just look the other way sometimes...🤷

shadowpilot8 said:I won't penalize anyone for failing to use Multi-quote or for combining posts. This forum has far too many rules 😁

This.

Man, it’s wild that we’ve actually reached the point where people are getting flagged just because they dropped three posts in a row 😕 I honestly can't believe there are mods out there actually doing this.

And merging them? Seriously... I think I’ve merged someone’s posts maybe three times total in my entire life. Most people just post things back-to-back when they're separate thoughts. Why would anyone even bother merging two consecutive posts when one is answering one thing and the other is responding to something else entirely? 🤷 Did the moderators start paying a tax per post on this sub, or something? Like, is it suddenly their job to drive down the total post count? 🤷

wow, what a brilliant comeback 👍

so basically, you have zero clue what you're talking about—you're just out for blood because you want to get back at the owner of those spots (who, by the way, nobody in this city likes except for some corrupt local politician 😉 ) just because you got canned 👍
Jack Booth5 said:Some folks go to that spot every single day for fried dough, and honestly... if you're constantly getting hit with grease from oil that’s been reused way too many times, you could seriously mess up your health

Wait, how so?

Alright, let's say someone eats about half a pound of fried dough made in burnt-up oil every day for two months straight—what kind of actual damage are we talking about here? 🤷
So, how exactly is one serving of fried dough made in yesterday's oil seriously going to wreck our health? 😕 I mean, if you’re eating deep-fried junk every single day, sure—fine. But two helpings of fritters over the course of two months... what kind of actual damage are we talking about here?

(It's basically the same logic as mixing Nutella with oil, right?)

Look, the teacher is actually really great—super kind and easygoing—so I honestly have zero complaints about her personally. She gave us such a warm welcome when we moved into the district.

Regarding the Happy Meal thing, my kid loves them. There isn't a single one nearby, so if we're passing by, I just grab one. I get the whole "healthy eating" lecture, believe me, but even I have a soft spot for that greasy fast food. 😁

The thing is, it never even crossed my mind that *everyone* would be eating there. Sure, everyone wants to go, but there's always a handful of kids who just won't touch certain things.

And it's not like we're living in poverty or anything—it's not like I don't have a few bucks—but I just didn't have any cash on me, and I hadn't realized this morning that he'd need it since they were just talking about it.

It also didn't occur to me that she might actually LEND him the money.

Maybe it’s being dramatic, but as a parent, I can't help but wonder if we shouldn't be asking these kinds of questions ourselves. Okay, fine, she probably doesn't even have my number saved, but... I’m just genuinely shocked. Now I feel awkward even going up to her. It feels weird to explain the situation—that my husband is working overtime right now and we've lost about $500 this month alone. (He's pulling extra shifts just to keep us afloat).

I know all about that. I already brought it up with the teacher, but she mentioned there are about five other families in the class in similar spots, so she just rotates it—someone gets a free trip each time. Interestingly enough, I was the only one who checked "no" on the survey regarding the school camping trip.
I actually wrote down that finances were the issue. I was wondering how those five families facing hardship were supposed to afford such an expensive trip.
But once I saw that everyone else was going, I went ahead and signed the waiver anyway, mostly because I didn't want my kid to be the odd one out. As for where we're going to scrape together the extra $383, that's another story. $65 I paid it. (We got a seven-month payment plan).

Anyway, I just heard from a neighbor that the bus ride is supposedly FREE this month...😲

Does anyone know anything about this?

I'm trying to figure out if everyone else actually paid $1.75 (everyone) because my boy tells me his uncle said the ride is free. (I told him his uncle was joking, that we paid, and that the teachers would cover it for the others)....😕

Let's be real: ads are a necessary evil, but they're also a godsend because they keep this Reddit alive. This gorgeous Nokia will be up for two weeks. 🙂

Since we actually give a damn about your opinion and don't want to drown this place in spam, we’re pulling the standard 160-pixel right sidebar while this wallpaper ad is running. Expect that change sometime after 8 PM tonight.

Right now, the site width is sitting at 1100 pixels. Honestly? It’s probably too wide. Long lines make reading a pain, though that’s a debate for another day. Some sites stay ad-free yet still stick to a fixed width—take the Webmaster's forum Webmaster, for example. They actually pay attention to those details and keep things at 950 pixels.

Our goal is simple: fund this site using ads that aren't aggressive and, ideally, actually useful. I don't think this one is over the top; it’s static and doesn't mess with the actual content area.

Bottom line: we're listening to you. We're looking for the least painful way to host the ads that, as I said, we absolutely need.

Right back at ya 🙂 We usually talk about different stuff, but hey, let's give this a shot too...

Look, ads being what they are—they're here to stay. I totally get why you need to monetize the Reddit community, but man, I just don't get why someone over at Nokia's marketing department thought terrorizing us with their ads was a winning move. But whatever, I've never really understood marketing people anyway, so I guess it’s kind of expected...

But, there's something else I really wanted to point out to you:

Grace Anderson3 said:I have to wonder if the new developer and the site owner have even bothered to look at how this forum actually looks.
If they had, they’d see that aside from a few technical glitches, the layout is just aggressively obnoxious to look at! 🙂If you guys absolutely need ads to stay afloat, they should be subtle, not taking over the entire page. image

And yeah... I’ve got two Nokia phones that are way more durable 😬 than the junk you're advertising here.
Are you happy now? 🙄

Have you even looked at what this place looks like lately? Honestly, so much has gone down the drain (to put it politely) since you guys dropped that ad...

There are maybe 30 people on here who could actually clean this up and make it look decent—so we don't deal with this crap every time a new ad goes live. Have you ever thought about reaching out to one of them? And when I say "reach out," I mean offering them a one-time gig to fix this up, since the current crew handling the site's layout clearly can't get it done... 🙂
silvertiger11, trust me on this—the admins have absolutely zero control over these ads 😉 They didn't put them there, and they can't get rid of them either.

It’s honestly just a headache for the owner... let's not drag the admins into something that has nothing to do with them.
Did you guys catch that piece on Yahoo News 🤣 🤣 🤣
Alright, let’s just lay it all out there—we all saw what those geniuses over at Apple's marketing department and the forum leadership pulled on us today... so, how are we feeling about it?

Are you actually gonna rush out to the store tomorrow to grab that "miracle" phone? Because apparently, you can snag one at *Verizon* right now starting $3.00!

Or maybe you'll just toss it aside with total disgust if it ever happens to land in your hands?

Or—and I'm throwing this third option out there—do you think this whole brainwashing stunt is actually gonna work... leaving some kind of permanent mark so that, down the road, you'll find yourself subconsciously craving this dark little object?

Let me know what you guys think 🙂

Look, if you wouldn't be into using tampons, then there isn't really another way out 🤷—you just have to sit there on the beach and deal with it, while you're stuck thinking about all the reasons why you're avoiding them in the first place 😬
love, or maybe even some in color.

I actually spotted them at Target recently—they aren't even that pricey. I ended up grabbing a 120-pack from eBay just the other day... they were a different style, but honestly, they're pretty great too. Now I'm just sitting here wondering how long on earth that stash is going to last me 😬
I’ve been sleeping with earplugs for years now. Every single night. It’s been at least five years at this point.

And honestly, once I finally found the right ones, everything just goes silent... my boyfriend—who snores, sometimes pretty loudly—the lawnmowers outside my window, some loud music coming from the neighbors upstairs... nothing gets through.
Just grab some earplugs and call it a day. Seriously, man—you’re gonna be sleeping next to a total snorer... 🙄

Look, there's definitely some drama surrounding her degree—you just can't really talk about it openly. Like, for instance, the HR department at the company where she worked for over twenty years... they've literally never even laid eyes on that famous law degree from the university. ☕

but I guess I'll give it a shot...

Look, I don't know where you work or what your setup is like, but I used to keep most of my stuff at the office so I didn't even have to bring it home. Like, you just leave your work shoes there—show up in sneakers and then change once you arrive. And toiletries? Just leave them at the office (assuming you have a drawer or somewhere to stash things), you know, wet wipes, deodorant, all that stuff... you don't need to lug it all back and forth every single day.

Even if you do end up needing to carry a spare shirt or some pants... honestly, I always managed to swing it and it was never really an issue for me...🤷
