Tragedy: Mario Draghi in Close to Politics ·
What can I even say... I'm stunned. That man always seemed like a rock to me—someone who could carry the weight of the world without breaking a sweat. A truly good man. May he find peace in his final rest, and may God grant him a tranquility He hasn't shown anyone else in this world.
Thompson clearly doesn't know a damn thing about the Nazis, their wartime successes, or the actual circumstances that led to them rising to power. If he actually knew his history, he wouldn't feel the need to make excuses.

I’m glad we finally cleared out all that cronyism surrounding us..🤣..and I'm proud of it..👍
Resigning as PDF Politics Moderator effective immediately in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I get the feeling driftingdriver actually took this whole moderation gig seriously. He’s caught in the middle—stuck between clueless admins, a bunch of random forum trolls, and his own principles. It feels like he was trying to be genuinely objective, just attempting to bring some actual order and structure to this chaotic sub-forum. Everything here turns into trolling eventually. Every thought gets mocked, and people just parrot each other endlessly. It's absurd, plain and simple.
I don't know what the current mods are even doing, but if you compare them, it's obvious driftingdriver was doing a solid job. The admins should honestly just ask him to come back. And when he does, they need to stop messing with him and let him run things his way—even if it means people like me keep attacking him or picking fights. The current mod team is bottom-of-the-barrel. To them, driftingdriver is king.👍

If you ask me, having a Social Security number is a pretty handy way for someone to hide their age...😁

A real statistical breakdown for all the Americans who suffered at Auschwitz under those bloodthirsty Nazis 😁

I guess they'll just use footage from a tractor parade... a little editing and there you go.😁

I totally agree. People like that need to be kicked off this forum, and honestly, they should be wiped off the internet entirely too.

Is it just about how they were raised? Americans have restored their churches under impossible conditions—during times of heavy oppression and constant threats. We protected our sacred places however we could. On the flip side, for a certain group of traitors, the greatest "sacred" thing is just humiliating someone else. They tear down churches, neglect them, and couldn't care less. That’s how they view Christ's birth, too. To them, it's just a colorful joke, nothing important, nothing that helps them gain power or status. These are the same types who tried to destroy America and would do it again. And yeah, there are plenty of them on this forum, and they're a disgrace to this (private) community.

To those who aren't built like that—there are still good people out there—Merry Christmas and many blessings!👍

Would people from El Paso be willing to make a sacrifice? What an ugly, disgusting, inhuman question to ask.
Actually, the people from El Paso already made their sacrifice. If they hadn't, we wouldn't even be having this conversation today.

Wasn't staying behind and defending the city against those animals a sacrifice in itself? And didn't Dedaković choose to maintain his dignity and prioritize the honor of America over his own health, especially after being beaten by Manolić and dealt with through Mason's manipulations and schemes—dealing with an injustice rarely inflicted on a man of his caliber?

Asking something like this is just pure malice. Does every worker who does their job honestly out of personal morality and upbringing do it because there’s a "point"? Does a mother have a reason to give birth and raise children if she might never get that love back? There are men of light and people of darkness. The defenders of El Paso were men of light. If some people can't wrap their heads around that, that's their problem. But the fact that moderators allow these kinds of topics in this mad house, or anywhere else, is a problem for all of us.

Moderators👎👎👎👎
In America, the intellectual right is the only force actually preserving this country's dignity. As for what people call the left? It’s a national disgrace. By any standard, I fall on the left, but I have absolutely nothing in common with the unpatriotic American left—the kind whose entire platform is built on erasing our history and spitting on our identity.

The right isn't more progressive; they're just more self-aware.

Harold Sanders10 said:So you don't glorify the Ustaše or puppet regimes. Damn! 😢 I was almost going to start a thread on the local forums titled "I fell for an older woman because of her logical fallacies, her obsession with those old political PDFs, her stubborn and argumentative attitude, and a way of speaking that screams naive 14-year-old girl—not to mention the typos, the spelling errors during heated debates, and how she bites her nails whenever someone posts something that contradicts her opinion. Plus, she’s a doctor, and you really should be nice to people like that."
Back then, she was chubby and wore black just to look slimmer. Fat. 👎

My bad for getting off track here. How do you even say "off-topic" in plain American English? 🙂

A puppet regime—what is that? I feel like America is a little bit of a puppet state today too... it's just that when I say it with my naive 14-year-old brain, people attack me, so I end up acting flighty, because it's easier to live in this gloomy, narrow-minded world...

Anyway, thanks for such a detailed breakdown of my personality... I've actually fallen in love with myself now, you described me so beautifully... ah, I want to spend the rest of my life with myself..😁 And why do you think I'm fat? Black, just to mislead you—black looks good on tall blondes... and red for the same reason. 😍
Alright, enough deviating from the topic or rambling off-track, at least we saved the rest of the forum users from another pointless debate about an impossible mission.😍

Whatever. They didn't ban me. And before you get any ideas, I'm not exactly out here praising collaborator regimes. Where are you even getting that from? I just don't like the partisans.🙄I’ve got a bit of a thing for the ones who went hard against the paramilitaries. I also feel for the Jews who were caught in the crossfire of those partisan killings. And honestly? The Ustaše were pretty cool—they started out as outlaws, then they weren't, then suddenly they were back to being outlaws again.😁That’s interesting... I'm obsessed with black, too. But that's not even about politics—it just looks good on me. Red works for me, too. Am I a little off? Honestly, though, those Ustaše guys were pretty cool. They were the legalists, unlike the partisans.

Well, if you're being sweet and polite—which you are, my dearest forum lady. :inlove:

Oh my god, seriously..? 🥳Thanks a lot, I'm feeling so full of myself now.. though I'll probably get banned soon anyway since I called some celebrity a rat.. and embellished a few other details.. so, cheers to you.👋

We should be handing out bans for anyone not speaking English on this forum. Especially for people just throwing baseless insults at American historical figures, whether they're from the old days or more recent history. And don't even get me started on how I'm getting banned constantly when I’m being perfectly civil. All I do is call a paramilitary what he actually is, and suddenly...

There's no reason for them to be debating with users and then getting dragged into personal conflicts. They should just focus on moderating. Paying for access, hmm... I'm not sure how much that would actually be worth to anyone. Personally, I don't think I'd pay, and I doubt most people here would either. We'd probably be left with just a tiny handful of people. And since the goal is usually to have high traffic and good stats, I fear this site doesn't really rely on the kind of statistics everyone keeps obsessing over; maybe there are other underlying issues at play here instead.😁

I agree. Mods should just enforce simple rules. They shouldn't be playing moral police or trying to build some perfect worldview. And yeah, if they're being paid to moderate, they should just do that—not use their position to score points in an argument. You earn respect through actual arguments and intelligence, not by acting arrogant, deleting posts, or banning anyone who disagrees with you.

The number of clones would drop drastically, but honestly, nobody actually uses them anyway. I’d be willing to pay for access to a forum, but only if there was actually something worth expecting from it... and that's probably where the issue lies. As for what specific content makes it worthwhile? I don't know. All I know is that the most active users on these boards are usually the most fake ones. I don't see anyone getting any long-term value out of this. Reddit doesn't stand a chance.

Rebecca Rogers5 said:I think the right word is unprofessional. It's amateurish, impulsive, and driven more by intuition and a desire to flex power here because they can't do it anywhere else. I don't see any other reason why someone would work for free for someone who is profiting from it, unless they get some personal satisfaction out of it. It's pathetic and naive. I would never want to be a moderator here. Well, maybe if they paid me.😁

I have to tip my hat to some of the moderators who actually engage in the smarter sub-forums and step in to maintain order when needed. But then you have others who won't even post for months; they just sit there acting as moderators. 🙄

I haven't received a single warning or had a complaint filed against me yet, but when I read the posts from certain moderators, it genuinely makes me sick that such a person can hold a moderator position. I'm talking about someone who decides what is acceptable and what isn't for everyone else, yet writes complete nonsense themselves and has zero moral compass. And now, supposedly, this person is meant to dispense justice to others and serve as a role model. 🙄

As for the technical side of how this site is run, I won't even go there. That's a whole different story that becomes very easy to follow if you have even a slight understanding of how things work and know a little bit about certain people. 😁

Let’s be real here. I post on other sub-forums sometimes—like the Diaspora section, where everything is fine. A mod might pop in if they need to, but otherwise, they participate constructively and keep it moving. Credit to them for even taking on the job. But the Politics sub-forum? That place is a mess, and it’s not just me feeling that way. The threads are way too loaded with emotion, and all this arrogant bias doesn't help anyone. It's just people dumping their private frustrations. Honestly, I'm all for hiring professionals and paying for access to the Forum. Without that, we're just shouting into the void.
Moderator bans in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I’ve officially given up on posting in the Politics subforum because, frankly, the way certain moderators intervene is just crude and provocative. It actually got under my skin so much I considered filing a lawsuit. I don't get why you can't just put mods on ignore—sometimes it’s honestly better if their posts are just invisible. This arrogant power trip some of these mods pull is getting out of hand.

I actually like the idea of paying moderators. If they were professionals, they’d just do their jobs, stay impartial, and maybe even provide actual facts on a topic. I don't care about trolls or bans, and I know I occasionally write things that aren't top-tier myself... but the arrogance and blatant bias from the mods is what kills me. They give themselves permission to be insulting, arrogant, and primitive. Am I supposed to stoop to that level just to participate in a debate? I’ve done it before, and I'm not proud of it. Or should I just stop participating in Politics altogether? Maybe the whole moderator system needs a complete overhaul. Personally, I’m all for paying them, even if it means fewer people participating in discussions... and fewer useless clones. Given how many users we have, it wouldn't cost a fortune.

The current excuse is always "they aren't paid for this," so they think they have the right to act however they want. They can frustrate a huge number of participants without facing any consequences. It's pointless and plain rude.
Kevin White5 said:I'm also wondering about 2012... but I'm not leaving the US.

Maybe we should just open an import business instead. You see how well that works in this country. We can just hire people on minimum wage to do exactly what they do in those massive retail centers.

Regardless, I would never trade my job. It’s the best job in the world to me. My only issue is that I still rely on my parents for help because this paycheck barely covers my extra expenses.

Agreed.👍Our job is genuinely great. Don't get me wrong, it's special. I'd never swap it, and I wouldn't even leave the States unless some other life thing forced my hand. Money isn't the driver. I actually turned down an offer once. I have too many personal reasons to stay here, and cash has never been the motivation.
The only thing that sucks is how nobody asks us what we think. Seeing a doctor hauled off in handcuffs is disgusting, regardless of whether they took bribes or not. Taking bribes is revolting. We need to protect the dignity of this profession, and that's on us. We have to do it, because nobody else will.
I’m seriously wondering what’s going to happen in 2012 when that 48-hour work week law actually kicks in. I mean, what kind of doctor even works those hours? Doing 70 or 80 is just standard, and if you complain, people basically ask, "What are you whining about?" Am I going to get in trouble with the law if I refuse to work more than 48? Or does anyone even care? Will I be forced to leave the US if I don't move before then?
Look, even putting pay aside, the real question is how we’re supposed to function. Are all these small hospitals just going to shut down? We have places where a town of 8,000 or a region of 50,000 doesn't even need its own hospital to begin with... etc.

And honestly, the pay and how doctors are treated by society is everything—but right now, there's zero motivation there. It's stupid to even bother commenting on it.

fadedraven212 said:A few years back, I picked up several books about the Spanish Civil War and its root causes, and honestly, I was floored. Everything I thought I knew about the whole thing came from old-school American textbooks that were heavily skewed toward a certain political bias, but after diving into some different perspectives, my own views have shifted quite a bit.
It’s still such a strange thing for me to wrap my head around... I can genuinely empathize with the social demands made by the working class at the time regarding better living and working conditions, but their communist platform, that aggressive atheism, and the crimes committed against religious figures are things I just can't get behind. Even now, I struggle to see them as red monsters—similar to how people viewed the Soviets back then—and I still find it hard to view the International Brigades as mere agents of the Comintern, much as I still tend to see Frank as the ultimate fascist villain.
It feels to me like even though Franco (and the Church, indirectly) managed to stop the rule of those radical Marxists and anarchists, they ultimately lost out to the surge of unchecked liberalism. It seems pretty clear that their military victory didn't translate into winning the battle for the soul of the nation.

I agree with everything you said. But for someone like me, who isn't exactly a history buff, none of this is new or shocking. I felt this way 15 or 20 years ago, back when I was just starting high school. To be honest, I actually envied the Spaniards... they really dodged a bullet there!
