It’s a great movie!
Way better than No Man's Land, which had such an incredibly stupid ending.
It might not be a masterpiece, but considering this was the director's first major project, she deserves massive credit—especially since women are still so sidelined in technical filmmaking roles. It feels like you're only "allowed" to be an actress, a costume designer, or a makeup artist.
It was about time a woman walked away with a prestigious award like this.
I won't say anything more about Mirjana; she did a solid job with her role and clearly has some talent. All in all, a good rating from me: +3.

It’s definitely not hard to beat Mustache, but I have to disagree—this one is much worse than Carreau.
Smoking ban in all public spaces in Health ·
Believe it or not, folks, it’s actually completely normal to find people smoking right inside the hospital wards in Brooklyn. They even have designated rooms for it—sort of like a lounge area. I honestly can't believe it!
I sent a quick note over to the Department of Health and Human Services to see what the deal is. Since they'll inevitably get back to me 🙄, I'll have to take some kind of action. They won't let patients leave the hospital grounds for fear they might wander off, yet they provide matches and lighters, basically giving them everything they need to set the whole building—and everyone else in it—on fire. I have no idea which genius thought this was a good idea.
Just hand cyanide to someone who’s looking to end it all; maybe then they won't drink it!

Grace Wells78 said:Gandalf is definitely real, just like how Washington, D.C. is right there in the middle of Tratinski. Those two studios actually merged and now they go by United Studios D.C. & Gandalf. I stopped by their place once to do some sketching, and honestly, their hygiene and workflow seemed fine, but I ended up getting my tattoo done at Robby and Senf's instead because I liked their vibe better. 😬

Senf is actually my boyfriend 😬 (for real)
Well, I guess you preferred them then 😉
Abortion discussion in Women's Health ·
Holy Spirit.cca $1000.The fetus shouldn't be older than about 10 weeks. But you really ought to head down there and ask them directly.
First things first, though—use your own head and get all the facts straight, just so you don't end up dealing with unnecessary drama after the Vacuum-abortus.

Angela Garcia36 said:Has anyone ever been to Gandalf over in the suburbs?

That place doesn't even exist anymore! Gandalf shut down after that issue at the lake. If you're looking for spots in the area, I'd personally recommend Washington, D.C. Tattoo or Robby Tattoo instead. To be honest, I never really felt comfortable getting inked in Washington, D.C.—no offense intended to anyone there, but the hygiene levels just didn't sit right with me. That was about five years ago, though, so maybe things have improved since then.

The movie is decent—not a masterpiece or anything, just good.
It would have been even better if those Oompa-Loompas😁(I can't recall their exact names) hadn't started with that terrible singing.
Instead, that one guy ended up overacting more than anyone else.

cosmicmarlin67 said:Maybe I really am "clueless," because I don't get why everyone in those first posts was laughing so hard. They thought it was hilarious that ABC aired Fahrenheit 9/11 on September 11th...
What exactly was the joke there?
Go ahead, explain it to someone "clueless" like me, since you all are such geniuses.

Are you just not getting the dark humor here?
Nobody said September 11th itself is funny. It’s the timing of the broadcast that's the joke. The sheer "audacity" of ABC airing that specific film on one of the darkest days in American history. Plus, the movie is basically an indictment of Bush. Get it?
That's where the dark humor comes from!
Fahrenheit 9/11 in Movies ·
After watching the film, I couldn't tell if all Americans are truly that clueless, or if he just caught the specific ones he was filming. If it’s the latter, 😁 where on earth do you even find people like that?
And the idea that it's all one massive corporation? The plot is more tangled than anything in an Agatha Christie novel. There's more shady maneuvering happening here than back home, yet somehow they haven't been busted yet.😬
I do have one critique, though. It's so painfully obvious that Moore can't stand Bush that it feels a bit forced. Even I, and I wasn't exactly a fan of his presidency, find his hatred over the top—it's like he'd happily build a wall out of him.
The other terrifying thing I noticed in "Hate Inc." is how much the media campaigns rely on fearmongering. Honestly, they're just scaring people with nonsense. Terrorists hiding in bathroom stalls or some killer apple riding a broomstick? It's ridiculous. How does the general public buy into this stuff? It's like they aren't thinking at all. Total zero for American journalists!

Richard Fox632 said:Finally, someone else who's actually heard of PBS... hands up! 👋

Oh, I've heard. 😁
They even have separate versions for different regions!

But honestly, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the air date they listed.
Then, goodness me, 🙂 I just lost it laughing.
It’s not really funny, though—it's actually pretty dark. I can't tell if it was an accident 🙄 or if someone at NPR is playing a joke on us.
Iconic quotes from classic cult movies in Movies ·
"What's this?
It's our baby; we painted this two months ago.

That's some serious promiscuity right there.

We aren't angels, after all.

(I think those are the lyrics, but please correct me if I got them wrong.)
George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead in Movies ·
I caught it yesterday at my local AMC, and I have to say, I was nearly 🙂.
But man, what a movie. Out of all the zombie flicks that have flooded theaters over the last few years, this is definitely the standout. It actually makes sense—it’s got a cohesive structure rather than just throwing random stuff at the screen.
It’s a perfect study of social hierarchy and pure human stupidity. Even when there are only a few thousand people left out of billions, you still end up with some self-important jerk trying to call all the shots. To me, that’s the whole point: how foolish we can be.
Anyway, expect plenty of blood, gore, action, and an actual message at the end.👍
