It’s a solid lineup—they’ll probably hit Stillness, The Horseshoe, and The Post Office too. Quick question though: any chance we see SUPERHIKSE in the near future? What's the deal with them?
SUPERHIKSE are actually in Chicago recording a new album over at Denyken's place. They start in about two weeks, but since they aren't all hitting the studio at once—mostly showing up one by one—there are some technical hurdles to clear. 😬 We might catch a surprise pop-up show if they can actually get everyone in the same room...
Just when I thought I’d finally managed to put that whole previous generation behind me... Well, here we go again. The nostalgia is starting to creep back in.
She dropped her album relatively recently and has been touring here and there. I think she played at Piranha last year during that month they were putting on those big new concert series.
I'm pretty sure that clip was also featured in the documentary/interview with Milan titled "just like this," which aired last year during the In Memoriam segment on NBC...
Big corporations and consumers have both played themselves, which, let’s be honest, they probably are. They went into negotiations with RIAA thinking they were playing hardball, and now they’re acting all smug—if you read that article in Bug about how much the negotiators are patting themselves on the back for slashing RIAA's initial demands. The reality is, those original demands were completely unconstitutional from the jump. It’s like nobody even bothered to realize that... 🙄

Is that really you, steelbadger83? Seriously, mad respect 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏
I’m honestly thrilled for the South Americans. Every single year, Europe swoops in and snatches up 50 of their top talents, and even with club budgets that are a hundred times larger, they still can't figure out how to exploit this new generation coming out of South America.

Don't put metal in the microwave. It’s not because you're going to trigger some catastrophic disintegration event—this isn't a nuclear reactor at a power plant. It's just a standard kitchen appliance. Metal heats up to extreme temperatures in a matter of seconds. That's the whole story. Besides, microwaves are everywhere. Radar beams are just microwave radiation. The waves carrying signals to your cell phone? Also microwave radiation. If we followed your logic to its natural conclusion, there wouldn't be a single piece of metal left on the planet.
So, you really don't get sarcasm, do you? Even when the original post is practically covered in emojis just so nobody mistakes it for something serious. 😵
Don't be so sure about that. Milk has iron, it has steel—it’s got everything in it. But if you toss it in the microwave? Well, then there’s nothing left.🤣 It's common knowledge that microwaves disintegrate iron, which is why you should never put metal in a microwave.🤣
What I find most ridiculous is how Robinson actually put on an incredible show after that second goal went in. That strike from Modrić right at the death? Honestly, any top-tier keeper in the US would have struggled to pull that one out of the net.
This was hands down my worst experience with concert promotion ever. Compared to this crew, Chuck Berry would have seemed like a saint. It was basically just a pack of teenagers on a little high school field trip with zero supervision. 🙄
It all kicked off with the airport pickup. They were supposed to land around 11 AM after flying from Manchester via Paris. Right around then, the tour manager, Bro Mike, calls me to say they’re stuck in Paris because they missed their connecting flight and he’s completely lost. Honestly, managing to miss a connection on a flight you actually boarded successfully is... 😬 quite the feat. At that point, the show was on the verge of being canceled, but thirty minutes later, he’s calling again saying the agency found them a flight to Ljubljana leaving an hour later, asking if we could just wait for them there. We sent two vans to Brnik and told them they’d have to squeeze in a bit (they really needed to arrive 15). They finally touched down in Ljubljana around 3 PM, though it was 2 PM instead of 4. Word is they lost two people somewhere during the tour (Chicago was their seventh stop), luckily it wasn't band members, just a merch guy and some random tech assistant. Then they spent an hour hunting for gear at the airport that turned out to have never even left Manchester. They finally rolled into Tvornica around 7 PM, but they were supposedly "too exhausted" for soundcheck and wanted to hit the hotel immediately. To make matters worse, it was the sound engineer's birthday and he insisted on celebrating, which resulted in a level of suicidal partying that you could clearly hear bleeding through the PA system. I want to apologize to everyone for the terrible sound quality; it wasn't a failure of the equipment—which was top-tier—but rather the result of a sound engineer who couldn't keep his feet under him after his birthday bash 😬. The concert start was pushed from 10 PM to 11 PM. By 10:30, everyone showed up except Flav, who apparently had "some things to take care of in his room." Well, those "things" took another hour, delaying the whole set. He was probably just jealous of the sound engineer and decided to be even more difficult.
The only bright spots in this entire disaster were Chuck D, who is a genuine legend and the only sane person in that chaotic group, and the fact that they actually played a full-length set despite the circumstances. To wrap it all up, the tour manager insisted their flight to Frankfurt left at 5 AM instead of 7 AM, so they rushed them straight from Tvornica to the airport. I didn't bother arguing with him, so I assume they spent a very pleasant two extra hours sitting around the airport 😬.
DJ Lord has been behind the decks for the last 5-6 years and through several albums, and he's a master—his solo set proved it. Welcome to the Terrordrome kicked things off right at the start of the show.

There’s no opener. Expect a marathon set—back in the States, their shows used to run for three hours straight. The concert start is scheduled for 10 PM, but whether they actually hit the stage at exactly 22:00 is anyone's guess. You can't bank on perfect timing with a crew like this.
Btw, there's a Public Enemy listening session happening today at the local KSET venue where they'll be handing out tickets and CDs.
