I’m genuinely curious about how those Nobel laureates actually crunched the numbers to conclude that conception happened right on the day of menstruation.

Can you actually back that up with some hard science? 😁

And that whole argument about being addicted to carbonation? It just doesn't hold up.😁

Kate Baker76 said:That’s pure logic right there! Everyone claims it doesn't contain any actual Coke, yet they guard that recipe like it's some sacred relic.😁

By the way, does anyone realize how much of what we consume is packed with "flavor enhancers" that are basically designed to be addictive? Ever finish a bottle of Fanta and feel like you're immediately craving another one? That's not an accident.🙄

Look, do you have any idea what a gram of cocaine actually costs? Now compare that to the price of a bottle of Cole.
And let's be real—companies make a massive profit margin on every single bottle of Cole they sell. So, do the math. Is there really cocaine in the soda?😁

Olivia Flores said:Maybe there was some cocaine in it way back when, but I'm pretty sure it's long gone by now.🙂

Exactly. It might have had trace amounts of cocaine in the formula before WWII, but today? That’s just branding at this point.

Sure, they keep the exact proportions and the specific process for their "secret recipe" under wraps, but let's be real—the core ingredients aren't exactly a mystery.

Rachel Brooks63 said:In the US, doctors often lean toward palliative chemotherapy, which is perfectly fine if the patient understands the situation and consents to that path. My mother knew her relapse was incurable and that chemo would only buy her more time, so she chose to decline it.
It isn't inherently wrong to refuse chemo, provided it’s an informed decision made by someone who fully grasps the consequences.

But isn't the whole point of treating chronic illnesses to extend life?😕
If we're getting philosophical, the fundamental goal of medicine is to prolong life under any circumstances.
That said, it's a total myth that doctors just hand out chemo to anyone; there’s a very practical reason for that: chemotherapy is obscenely expensive. It’s not prescribed to someone if there's zero chance it will actually help. I know of several cases where treatment wasn't offered simply because the cost was astronomical compared to the negligible benefits. In those instances, they usually opt for radiation instead—it's much cheaper, and at least the patient walks away feeling like they received some kind of care.
Look, no cancer patient can ever claim to be 100% cured, but without chemo, my mother probably would have passed away three or four years ago.

What’s incredibly critical here is the patient's mental state. It’s a massive uphill battle to stay optimistic when you're facing this, and depression can be just as devastating as the physical symptoms. If there's any way you can manage it, don't let them give up on things like chemotherapy—it's a common trap for patients to fall into. You’ll run into a thousand people who will try to lecture you on how brutal chemo is on the body. And sure, they aren't wrong; it's brutal. But compared to the disease itself? It’s a necessary evil. Chemotherapy saved my mother's life, even if the process was an absolute nightmare to endure.

Rachel Brooks63 said:Look, I’ve heard that one too, and we actually gave it a shot. Unfortunately, it didn't do a damn thing for us. Every single glass of Coca-Cola just led to more bloating. You know how it goes—you get desperate enough to try anything, so my poor mom tried drinking Cola, even though she never liked it to begin with. Maybe it works for some people, but for her, it was useless.

It worked for my mom.

Kimberly Davis52 said:Anyone know why Diet Coke hits the spot when my stomach is acting up? It’s basically the only thing I can even think about drinking right now, even though I don't usually drink much soda.

Who knows? Maybe it's just the carbonation. There's actually one other scenario where it really helps—during chemo recovery. It does a decent job of dulling the nausea, which is a huge relief for patients dealing with that.
Massive Attack in Music ·
Dammit, I finally managed to find the one day I actually feel sick.😢
Massive Attack in Music ·
Alright, did anyone actually make it out to that? What was the vibe like?

Kimberly Davis52 said:Look, I assume Diet Coke actually lists its calorie count. It has to be caloric to some degree—even lemon water has calories. If you chuged fifteen hectoliters of plain water a day, you’d probably blow past your daily limit too, if that's even a thing.

It lists the calorie count, just like any other diet drink. I don't have one handy to check right now, but off the top of my head: we're talking maybe one calorie per liter. It's practically nothing.

Why don't you just head over to Law School? Honestly, this has nothing to do with medical issues. Or maybe it does.😁

Edward Turner27 said:Sure, fine...

But if you’re drinking Starbucks powder every single day, you're overdoing it..

If one bad thing is enough for a daily dose, imagine drinking 50 of them a day..

I know people who practically eat Starbucks jam...

That's just five evils packed into one glass. 😂

Look, getting your daily dose of vitamins A, D, and K from a single spoonful isn't happening, simply because they aren't even in Starbucks.
You’ll probably end up with an upset stomach or something similar, but you won't hit hypervitaminosis. Of all the "potentially overdosing" vitamins mentioned here, the only one actually present in Starbucks is vitamin E. In the Starbucks light version—which packs three times the vitamin concentration of the regular stuff—there's 10 mg per serving (10 g). Honestly, you'd have to drink literal gallons of it to overdose; we're talking purely theoretical territory here.
By the way, is a vitamin E overdose even a real thing? 😁

Chicago Bulls said:I don't care if you have a degree 😵 It’s just how much you're flexing it... I’m telling you, aspartame (especially when mixed with cyclamates) is way worse for you than actual sugar. So, since you're clearly some chemistry genius, enlighten me. WHY AM I WRONG?

And why is regular soda better? Because damn it, it uses real sugar—which is exactly the point I was making. Plus, it actually tastes better...

Sure, eating 10 kg of aspartame would be more lethal than eating 10 kg of sugar, but nobody consumes aspartame in those quantities. You can't compare them like they're apples and oranges.

Then we can discuss how "beneficial" it actually is for your health or your teeth.
Cola is basically liquid acid.👎

I didn't even realize anyone had posted such nonsense, so I just lumped it in with the other myths. 🤣

Fine, go ahead and leave some rusty nails in a bottle of Cola. After one night, the rust will be gone; after two nights, there won't even be any nails left.😲

dora said:Look, it's not some lethal poison.

Here’s the deal.
My own experience and why I finally quit drinking that garbage.
Basically, I had this one glass with some nasty sludge sitting halfway up the bottom. I scrubbed that crap with everything under the sun, including—get this—Clorox.
That stubborn residue wouldn't budge. I even tried soaking the glass in water mixed with Clorox—nothing.
I wanted to toss the glass, but I actually liked it. That’s why I worked so hard to get the gunk out.
But I didn't throw it away; I kept it.
Then, back when I was constantly drinking Coca-Cola, a bottle broke. There was a little bit of Coca-Cola left, so I poured it into that same glass from before 😁(the one with the gunk).
Within a few hours, that Coca-Cola—which everyone claims isn't "that unhealthy"—dissolved that entire layer of sludge. Think about that: the residue that even Clorox couldn't touch was melted away by a soda people gulp down every single day! It's unbelievable.

As for the doctor. My cardiologist told me I was underweight and a total nutcase because I don't eat meat. Total nonsense, right? Is that the ultimate truth? Not necessarily. Now, that doesn't prove my theory about Coca-Cola, but it certainly doesn't help the argument that it's a "fine" drink.

My other issue is with Diet Coke. One time, after just three small sips, I broke out in hives all over my body and face. It was unreal. Normally, I have an iron constitution, and yeah, it was 100% caused by the Coca-Cola. Even the label on that Diet Coke crap warns you not to consume more than a liter a day—and if the manufacturer is actually warning you, you know it's bad...

And now someone is trying to tell me this stuff is okay to drink? Sure, it won't kill you instantly, but I see zero reason to put it in my body. There are no vitamins, no minerals, nothing useful.
It's trash.

I've heard this story at least fifty times in different versions, including the one where you drop a piece of steak in some Cola overnight and it's gone by morning. Come on, dora, stop pulling our legs; you sound like old ladies gossiping on a porch. 😁
You probably just used a different glass. 😁

driftinggull13 said:QUESTION: why are Americans, along with more and more people globally, becoming overweight?
...It’s not exactly poison, but it’s definitely harmful!
..Caffeine (which is common knowledge) strips calcium... and flushes fluids from your system, taking valuable minerals and vitamins along with it! (That’s why you really need to drink a glass of mineral water alongside your coffee)
...Phosphorus is what makes kids who drink Coca-Cola hyperactive... and it isn't just children!
On top of that—aspartame—is sweet, which automatically triggers the body to process the other sugars already in your system...! Once that happens, you naturally end up craving sweets or electrolytes... because, just like salt, our bodies need sugar to function properly... almost like fuel for an engine...
Aspartame nearly cost me my life... once I stopped using aspartame and saccharin, I dropped 5 pounds automatically!... Now I only use real sugar—in moderation! (less than half a teaspoon)... Drink regular Coca-Cola if it's your treat, but watch your health and your figure; focus more on the amount of fats and oils you consume!
Best, 👋

It’s unbelievable how much "medical" nonsense you can read on here. 🙄

young.but.dead said:It has less sugar than regular soda, but it’s still poison. You’d be better off drinking booze—try some wormwood instead.👍

There isn't a single gram of sugar or any actual nutrients/calories in there, but the rest of the "junk" factor is just as bad.😁

Bottom line: it won't make you gain weight. You could actually starve to death if you tried to live off nothing but this stuff.😁
