Period talk: Questions and advice in Women's Health ·
It all depends on where you are in your cycle. If we're talking about day seven, pregnancy is definitely on the table if she has shorter cycles—say, anything in the 24 to 26-day range. Usually, you don't get pregnant while on your period, but I wouldn't rule it out entirely. Some women have actually managed to conceive right during their flow.☕
Is anyone going to answer me? I'm getting a bit worried about this Urobilinogen level at 3.2. Is that actually normal, or am I looking at some kind of gallbladder or liver issue? Please let me know.😁😉
Hey everyone, I’m looking for some perspective on these lab results:

MCH 26.0, normal range is 27.4-33.9
MCHC 303, normal range is 320-345

Also, I read somewhere that there shouldn't be any Urobilinogen in urine, but mine shows 3.2. What does that imply?😢 Any advice would be appreciated.
So, I'm curious about your experiences with this. Is it actually possible to get a full picture of how your organs are functioning just from a single drop of blood through microscopic analysis? I've heard that certain practitioners do this, often working alongside companies selling wellness supplements—and apparently, most mainstream doctors won't even acknowledge these kinds of findings. I’d love to hear from anyone who has actually gone through one of these screenings. Did you find out anything that your regular doctor later confirmed? The whole thing costs about $30 or so... is it worth considering? What's your take on how reliable they really are?

My cycle came a little early this month. Last time was March 13th, but this one showed up on April 6th. Honestly, it’s probably nothing—just some travel stress and life getting in the way.😁😉

My period is incredibly light, but every time I go to my OB-GYN, they tell me everything looks perfectly normal. So, who's the crazy one here? It lasts maybe two days, maybe two and a half, and then it's over.🤷 I guess I should just consider myself lucky, 😁 especially when I hear about women bleeding for seven or eight days straight, and in heavy flows at that.🙄 Meanwhile, I'm done in no time using just standard pads.😲🤷

Well, you aren't doing too bad yourself.😁 I think you can finally catch some light sleep now if you've been up since midnight.☕

When the forum is dead, just go outside. Take a walk to the corner store or something. You'll feel better.

Some older lady once told me that getting some fresh air does wonders for your mental state. Especially the sun...

Why wouldn't you just change the things that aren't working for you? Who are you trying to please here? Your parents? Were you just trying to impress someone by picking a major you actually hate? Look, don't work against yourself. That sense of hopelessness and depression usually kicks in when we ignore our own gut feelings. Then, when things don't go perfectly, the disappointment hits even harder. You’re a great person. You have value. Start choosing yourself. And don't think it's too late—it's never too late. We're all learning as we go, and as long as you're breathing, you have the chance to pivot and work on yourself. I really want to encourage you: tomorrow is a fresh start. If you need to see a doctor, do it. I've been there myself, sought help, went through therapy, and honestly, it made all the difference. Just don't give up. The fact that you're almost done with a degree you never wanted in the first place proves how much grit you actually have. You can move forward and fix what isn't working. These feelings you're having? It's just a massive buildup of frustration finally coming to the surface. Think about it... and don't quit.

It’s funny how women always have this nagging subconscious fear whenever our periods act weird. Last month, mine dragged on for a day and a half longer than usual, and now I’m sitting here waiting for it to show up tomorrow or the day after. I’m definitely not pregnant—I know exactly what I was doing that month—but reading stuff like this still triggers a little bit of paranoia. Like the other day, I saw a post on a forum where a woman had a seven-day period along with some nausea, so she took a pregnancy test just for kicks even though she didn't want to waste the money. Turns out she was pregnant. Honestly, I almost fell off my chair reading that.😲🙄So yeah, anything can happen. If you notice something off, just take a test to stop the doubting. Personally, I don't have any symptoms, so I'm just calmly waiting for my monthly visitor.😛😁People were talking about spotting during pregnancy on this forum last year too. Usually, it's just very light spotting, though occasionally someone mistakes actual bleeding for their period.☕
Inflammation and thickening of the uterine lining in Women's Health ·
Carol Parker said:I don't get it. What do you mean by a thickened vulva?
You’re probably just dry, so it feels swollen and won't close all the way.
Never heard of anything like that. If there's no pain, itching, or burning, then
fever likely has nothing to do with it.

Yeah, no itching or burning. I am a bit dry... you misunderstood me—everything feels normal, just really tight, almost like a ring.🤷 Temperature isn't really my concern right now. I'll see if I need to head to the doctor, thanks.
Vaginal moisture and flora balance in Women's Health ·
Honestly, I’m as dry as a desert down there. Maybe I get a little moisture during my fertile window, but that's about it. My OB-GYN suggested using Gyanicol for the dryness. A 50 ml tube runs about $22—it's a scentless gel... it works great, but it sucks having to remember to apply it all the time. It just feels like a chore.😢But hey, if the doctor says so, so be it. It's just one of those things that happens after breastfeeding.😕Once a night🙄...I tried another one too, but it was useless. Personal lubricant—don't bother buying it unless you want a headache. It's total garbage.👎It’s just this thick, sticky gel that causes more trouble than it's worth, even though they advertise it everywhere.☕

These pills are driving me insane. I’m honestly wondering what shape they’ll even arrive in, and I need them by the 12th or 13th 🙄 meanwhile, I’m getting these constant sharp pains in my pelvic area... just thrilled about these recurring gynecological issues. I see my doctor more often than I see my own family 😲 it’s getting exhausting having to run back to her clinic every single time 🤷
Inflammation and thickening of the uterine lining in Women's Health ·
I’m looking for some insight or advice here. I’ve been dealing with these intense chills followed by sudden waves of heat all day. My temperature came in at 98.6 degrees, but these chills have been hanging around for a few days now. I tried to check my cervix myself—it feels thick, and the opening seems swollen; I could barely even get a finger in.😲I kept checking, getting paranoid, and eventually called the on-call OBGYN at the hospital. When I asked what this might be, he basically told me he had no idea.🙄He just said I should call my regular doctor tomorrow. I pointed out that tomorrow is Saturday and she isn't in, so he just shrugged and told me to wait until Monday. Honestly, the attitude from that doctor was bizarre. He didn't even suggest I come in. Has anyone dealt with this? What could be going on?😕Also, my uterus feels like it has dropped lower than usual.😢My last period was February 13th and it only lasted about a day and a half.😢I’m honestly worried that things might swell shut.😢What am I looking at here? I still have a slight fever. The doctor didn't sound particularly concerned, though; he just asked if I was pregnant. Since I'm not, he acted like it wasn't his problem and told me to just hang on until Monday afternoon.😲What is happening????

Sophia Young3 said:I'm still dealing with PMS and just felt this gland swell up in my right breast. It's right where it was hurting before, and it's painful to touch... it's not just a little lump, it feels pretty big. I'm assuming it'll go down once my period starts...
I mean, I used to get these swollen glands under my armpits too, and my doctor told me not to worry about it since it happens before my cycle...
Hopefully, it's the same thing this time...

If you trust your doctor and you've dealt with this before, it’s probably nothing serious, though it sounds a bit weird to me.🤷
Can you swim with tampons? in Women's Health ·
I usually avoid using tampons, except maybe at the very end of my period. Even then, I just soak in the tub and pop one in for a few minutes because it feels like everything gets saturated by the water. Sometimes they get a bit soaked, sometimes they don't—I guess it just depends on how long you're actually in the water. There's no way I'm jamming a tampon in and leaving it there for two hours. I only keep it in for maybe 5 to 10 minutes right at the tail end of my cycle. Plus, doing this in the summer just doesn't feel particularly hygienic to me.🤷

Sophia Young3 said:I won't even get my period until the end of next weekend, but my right breast started aching a few days ago. It isn't the whole thing, just the side near my armpit—and man, does it hurt when I press it. My nipples were already sore during ovulation, and now this side pain is just intense. Has anyone else dealt with this? Usually, both sides ache during PMS, but this is the first time it's just one side, specifically on the edge when I touch it.....🤷

It sounds like you might have a swollen lymph node. That can happen for plenty of reasons. Even something minor, like a tiny cyst or a basic sore throat, can cause lymph nodes to react and swell up. I’ve actually dealt with a small lump in my pelvic area before; I went to the doctor, and it ended up causing some really painful swelling in my groin area. Most likely, yours is something totally harmless like that. Of course, lymph nodes can swell with more serious issues too. If the pain doesn't clear up in a couple of days, go see a doctor so they can get you checked out properly.

Susan Foster31 said:She’s in private practice, which is exactly why it bugs me—she clearly just winging it. Last time I told her I felt like things were inflamed and noticed some spotting, she just glanced at it and brushed it off as being from a cyst. It went away for a bit, but now everything feels swollen again. 🤷 I think I'll head back in to see what she has to say, though I really don't feel like getting brushed off $167 again. Not worth the hassle. 👎

If you aren't happy with her, why even bother going? Personally, I switched to a doctor through my insurance provider and it was the best move I ever made. I swapped out a previous doctor who was impossible to talk to for this new one, and she's an absolute gem. 😍 I can make appointments whenever I need, provided I wait my turn, obviously. And she always does my blood work. My old doctor used to be so shady about billing—charging for some things, skipping others, it was all over the place. Just a total headache. 👎 Anyway, I'm happy with my new doctor now. 😍 Wishing you the best of luck. 👍

Susan Foster31 said:I can’t take this anymore. It’s been four days since my last birth control pill and still nothing. My breasts are sore and my stomach feels terrible—just bloated, like my uterus is swollen 😢. I went for a blood test today to check HCG levels and I'm not pregnant (

It's possible. Just go see your doctor before your scheduled appointment. If you're using a clinic covered by Medicaid, they should definitely see you if you're having symptoms. Good luck.😉
