Charles Lopez10 said:Greetings to everyone. Yesterday, around 4:00 PM, I was intimate with my girlfriend and the condom actually broke—right at the tip. I managed to pull out just before ejaculation, so there was no internal climax, but it was only then that I noticed the breakage. Now, both she and I are spiraling into a bit of a panic regarding the possibility of pregnancy. She took a home pregnancy test this morning around 8:00 AM, and the result was negative. My question is: did she take the test far too early, and how much weight can we actually give to that result? Her cycle is quite irregular, which is why she takes hormonal birth control pills to keep things stabilized. Her last period lasted from May 27th through the 31st, so we are expecting her next one around June 27th or 28th. Tomorrow, we plan to pick up another test and also grab some emergency contraception just to be absolutely certain. In your expert opinions, what are the actual odds here? How reliable is today's negative result considering it has only been about 16 hours since the encounter?
We are desperately seeking some guidance. 👍

If you're certain you pulled out in time, honestly, I don't think she's pregnant. I see her fertile window was open based on her cycle, though, so the chances are slim.
A pregnancy test isn't reliable until she's actually due for her period. There isn't a test on the market that can detect pregnancy 16 hours after sex.
High FSH levels: What should I expect? in Women's Health ·
Maria Gray45 said:I had my hormone levels checked on day three of my cycle, and my FSH is through the roof. It’s supposed to be under 13, but mine came back at 87.7. I had to go back in today to redo the test on day three again, so I should have the new results by next week.
Has anyone else dealt with high FSH? How do you actually get it back to normal—are there specific medications or anything? And what kind of consequences am I looking at with numbers that high?

My take is that it means there's a primary issue with the ovaries themselves. That's where the problem lies. I read somewhere that once.
Not sure about the long-term effects.

Sam Richardson2 said:I get those ovulation spotting things almost every month... then my period shows up right on schedule. But this time? I don't think it was just ovulation. The discharge was way darker, kind of brownish, and it lasted much longer... nearly three days.🙄

Sounds like a hormonal imbalance or maybe some inflammation to me. You should probably just go see an OB-GYN and let them figure it out.☕

Sam Richardson2 said:Forgot to mention—I had some brownish discharge for a couple of days right in the middle of my cycle. That’s exactly when I should be ovulating and hitting my peak fertile window.🙄Could that cause my period to be late?

What you're describing sounds like ovulation spotting caused by hormonal shifts. That isn't actually why your period is late. Usually, you just wait until day 40, counting from the first day of your last cycle. If nothing happens by then, go see a gynecologist. There are plenty of reasons for a delay—hormones, cysts, pregnancy, you name it.☕
Lump and swelling in Health ·
I had this lump in my neck once. My primary care doctor sent me to an ENT specialist, who then set up a biopsy, cytological testing, and a neck ultrasound. They found several enlarged lymph nodes, but the cytology showed it was just fatty tissue and some extra lymphocytes. Nothing dangerous. It seemed like it was just reacting to an infection, since the node would swell up whenever I had a sore throat. My advice? Get it checked out by a specialist. Just ask your GP for a referral to an ENT.😉

That might just be spotting before your period actually starts. It could mean your cycle is about to kick in, or maybe there’s a little hormonal imbalance going on. Since you mentioned you aren't expecting it until Sunday or Monday, I doubt this is your actual period starting early.🙄
Isn't a period supposed to be heavier than just light spotting?☕
Dealing with bad cramps? in Women's Health ·
hiddenviper17 said:I am unsure if this provides any actual relief
but I have heard that women who deal with painful periods tend to handle pregnancy and labor better, since it just feels like another intense cycle to them🙂
Is that true, moms out there?

Meanwhile, those who haven't experienced these pains are often faced with that same hell for the first time right in the hospital room😁

That wasn't my experience. It was pretty painful... but I definitely had more issues with my periods before having kids. Once I gave birth, things eased up quite a bit. I used to rely on painkillers constantly, and now I barely need anything during my cycle.
I think the theory you mentioned might apply here:
if you struggled with bad periods beforehand, things might settle down after you give birth. At least, that's what I've heard.☕
Dealing with bad cramps? in Women's Health ·
Usually, my period cramps are pretty manageable—they mostly hit hard for the first day or two. But this is different. I’m worried about this pain that happens every single month. It absolutely wrecks my back. It feels like menstrual cramps, but more intense—like labor pains. Anyone who’s given birth will get what I mean. I don't know what it could be. Honestly, I felt like I was dying yesterday; the pain gripped me for an hour before finally letting up. What else could this be if it isn't just ovulation?
quietcrane said:On my internet-sourced tests, I could clearly see the lines right away, whereas on the PrimaStick, the line didn't even show up until after about 15 minutes had passed🙄. It seems some tests are simply more sensitive than others, wouldn't you agree?🤷

When that line showed up, the test was positive. I’m telling you, she's definitely pregnant.😍
placidviper12 said:I need a little help here. My period was supposed to arrive last Friday, but it’s running late... I took a quick One Step test yesterday afternoon and saw a super faaaaaint second line. Then I tried again this morning and the line didn't look any darker at all. I'm ready to sprint to CVS to grab some Intim Plus (shoutout to that 😁 commercial) but so far, nothing but an empty 😕
. As for symptoms, I wouldn't call them anything major—just a bit of nausea in the evenings and I've been hitting the bathroom more often. Honestly, I don't really have a specific 🤷
.

If you saw a second line on an One Step, then YES, you're pregnant. But just a heads up—that line HAS to be clearly visible, not something you have to tilt the test at weird angles to see. If you can see it while holding it normally, it's positive. As for the second test you took? The line wouldn't have gotten darker any faster than it did anyway.☕
Some weird pain in Health ·
I’m curious about this too. I get these occasional cramps—not all the time, just sometimes—especially when I try to stretch out my hand or clench my fist. It feels like I can't even get a solid grip. I remember back during asparagus season, I could barely hold them because my grip was so weak. My mom deals with carpal tunnel syndrome; could this be the same thing, and is it something you can inherit?
Thx!
Sensitive clitoris issues in Women's Health ·
Hannah Lopez40 said:I wouldn't mind one bit :Disney

I'm in.😢

Chris Reed6 said:It isn't their first time, but if the clitoris is irritated, that’s exactly how it feels to me too.
Every time I touch near my groin, man, it hurts. Even when I go to the bathroom, things just feel off. This isn't normal.

Eh, I don't know.

I'm gonna head over to my doctor's office to see what they have to say about this.

Thanks a lot! 🙂

It could be a fungal infection. It leaves things feeling irritated down there—just a crazy sensation. It itches, it stings, and you can’t stop scratching until you’ve practically drawn blood.☕
driftingpanther42 said:Maybe try taking the condom off next time.😕

Look, if you seriously want a baby that badly...🤷
Bryan Palmer3 said:I honestly can't help but feel like everyone would just have a much easier time if I weren't even around.

You know that isn't true.😢
Bryan Palmer3 said:Like I already said above, it was my friend's behavior that really cut deep. We had this massive falling out, and she honestly couldn't care less, which just leaves me feeling completely isolated,😢😢😢

I know things are rough right now. But if she just walked away like that, it says everything about her character and nothing about yours. There are plenty of people out there looking for someone exactly like you. You aren't alone in this. Life gets better. You already see what happened—a few things hit you all at once and it just knocked you sideways. It’s temporary. Just remember there are people on here you can reach out to whenever you need to vent or just talk through the frustration. It helps.😉
Hm... kind of weird that the test came back negative. Personally, I haven't had that happen. My first test was positive, and then it took another two or three weeks before anything actually showed up on the ultrasound. ☕
Mosquito bites and stings in Health ·
Out here in California, it feels like everything is being swarmed by tiger mosquitoes this year... even though it’s early, we're only in May, but you can see them everywhere in broad daylight.🙄
You can't even take the kids out to the park swings without getting eaten alive. I've already got 20 bites—four on my butt and the rest all over my legs. Those tiger mosquitoes itch like hell once they get you; I catch myself scratching until I'm actually bleeding.
My advice? Grab some Flonidan syrup or Rinolan if you end up having an allergic reaction to the bites.☕
Robin Myers said:There are several million sperm in a single ejaculation, if I recall correctly... yet all it takes to create a life is just one.

I got pregnant both times that way. After sex, I’d just get up, go pee, hop in the shower, and be totally fine. There's always plenty left inside, even if people claim otherwise—maybe because of how things work biologically—but about a hundred end up surrounding the egg, one breaks through, and boom, you've got a baby.😍
So, apparently, you don't need much at all since there are millions in one shot, just like Robin Myers mentioned.

Hormonal imbalances, anovulatory cycles, inflammation, pregnancy... it could be any of those. Needs a checkup with a gynecologist.😉

Paul Green3 said:One more thing, how long does a period actually last, as in, how many days does a woman bleed🙂?

It varies. For me, it's about 3 days. Some women get 4 or 5, and then you have one out of every ten who deals with 7 or 8 days.☕
