driftingtiger2 said:To might just be "a dog" to someone else, but he’s been sleeping by my bed for fourteen years. Fourteen years of life together.

I’ve known my friend who passed from cancer since the day I was born. During those last two months, I was there every single day—reading the news to him, playing cards when he felt up to it, talking about life and death... I stayed close because I knew he was slipping away. Losing him? It hit me hard.

There wasn't anything you could do about it. Death always wins. But look at it this way: he was lucky to have you. Having a friend like that, someone who stayed until his very last minute—that's everything.🙂
I have cats, and losing one was brutal too. I cried for days. But I didn't have them nearly as long as you had your dog. After 14 years, it's only natural that you're feeling this way.😉

I'm scared my mom will pass away, terrified my dad might take his own life because he can't handle losing his job, and I have these nightmares about my brother getting killed in a hit-and-run. I worry about being fired and losing the house I still have 14 years left on the mortgage for. I wonder if my husband is actually happy with me. I rarely see friends anymore; I'm just completely drained from work, caring for my mother, and dealing with all the money stress...

I'm really sorry😢 it’s tough right now. I feel for you. You're stuck in a situation where everything feels out of your control—illness, job instability, things you just can't fix. Maybe look into psychotherapy. There's both group and individual therapy, which could help you connect with people who actually get what you're going through. I know you're probably stretched thin for time, but if you checked with a local Healthy City clinic in your area... are you currently on any medication or not yet?

I mean, look, I have feelings too, but treating someone like that after they lost a loved one AND a pet? Man, I think I'd just want to crawl into a hole and die.

Seriously,🙄 she came here looking for some actual helpful advice, not to be lectured by people acting like geniuses.☕

Mental health is a heavy thing. It’s like a bucket—you just keep pouring stuff into it until it finally overflows. I’d honestly suggest looking for some professional help. Start treatment sooner rather than later. I dealt with clinical depression myself, managed to get through it four years ago, and I've been doing just fine since. It’s no wonder you’re feeling this way after everything negative that’s hit you lately. At least you realize things can't keep going like this. Try finding a local psychiatrist near you. I'm sure you'll start feeling better soon.😉

Honestly, if the test was positive, you're pregnant. Congrats!😍
Some kind of urinary issue... I think? in Health ·
Try switching to a stronger cranberry supplement; that actually worked for me. If things don't settle down soon, though, you’re probably going to need antibiotics.
Eye twitching: What's causing it? in Health ·
Brandon Morgan said:Thanks, 🙂

The truth is, the last few days have been incredibly stressful, though honestly, I've been under a lot of pressure lately regardless. That's probably what it is. It just drives me crazy—I can't get anything done while my eye keeps twitching like this. It’s awful. Why can't it just be a leg twitch or something? Not right by my eye...

That's how it goes. My eyelid stopped twitching and turned into this constant ringing in my ears instead.😢
Eye twitching: What's causing it? in Health ·
My eyelid was twitching for a few days before it just stopped on its own. It’s basically just a nerve thing. I didn't bother seeing a doctor about it. Honestly, just take something to take the edge off—something to help you relax, which should settle the nerve too. Maybe try some herbal stuff with valerian if you don't have anything like Xanax or Ativan handy, though those are pretty mild.

You aren't pregnant😉
I have no clue why your period disappeared. Honestly, I'm asking myself the same thing. It happens to me sometimes too. Could be hormones, could be the emergency contraception. Either way, don't stress too much. You'll see everything is fine. You aren't pregnant.😁
Dealing with bad cramps? in Women's Health ·
Walter King3 said:Ugh, my periods used to be absolutely brutal—like, genuinely terrifying levels of pain. And honestly? Having kids didn't make things any easier at all, which is just great. For years, I was basically living on Ketoral (Knavon)—you know, that heavy-duty stuff—and it was really the only thing that actually touched the pain. But man, it totally trashed my stomach. Now, I can’t even think about taking it because the gastric issues end up being way worse than the actual cramps, if that makes sense. So, for a few months now, I’ve been trying these PMS Free supplements from Encian, which use Vitex as a base—so they're totally natural and all that. And wow, what a difference. My cycle is actually hitting a perfect 28 days now, whereas it used to wander around anywhere from 30 to 33 days, and the bleeding itself is completely painless. I haven't even been super strict about taking them every single day, either—I usually just stick to taking them for about a week leading up to my period.

Seriously?😲 If that Encijana stuff actually works like that, I'm grabbing a box.☕
Even though I always thought my post-pregnancy cramps were pretty mild, this cycle was a nightmare. My stomach was killing me, I felt dizzy on the first day, and had a massive headache.😢, but I managed to get through it without pills.👍

That’s a debate that could go on forever...😱😬
Don't worry, you'll find out soon enough.😁

Thanks, ladies, you really are absolute gems!! 🎉.. Anyway, I’m off to 🙂

Hopefully it's a sweet little baby... and let me know how it goes.😉
rustypuma6 said:What happens when you’re stuck with a negative vibe—or perhaps more accurately, a negative person—and your gut is screaming at you that things should actually be looking up? It's a strange sort of friction, isn't it? Like being caught in a sudden downpour when the weather report promised nothing but sunshine—you’re left standing there, squinting at the clouds, wondering where the disconnect happened. You have this internal compass pointing toward optimism, yet the reality right in front of you is stubbornly, almost aggressively, pessimistic. It’s exhausting, really—trying to reconcile that intuitive sense of potential with a situation that just feels fundamentally broken. 🤔

Hold on a second... it’s totally possible to get a negative result right now since I just read that you shouldn't even test until the 24th. For me, mine didn't turn positive until a few days after my period was due. On the actual day it was supposed to start, the line was so faint I practically needed a microscope to see it. Just wait until the morning of the 24th. Use your first urine of the day and it should show up. My implantation happened a little later, so it took a couple extra days after my missed period for the test to finally hit positive.☕
rapidrider3 said:Let me offer some comfort (or maybe just more disappointment), but mine was three days late this month. My back was aching, my chest was incredibly sore—like, crazy swollen—plus the dizziness and the jitters. I actually went out and bought a test just so I could take it in the morning (I mean, I'm not even trying to get pregnant, but if luck strikes... who knows?), only to end up getting my period that very evening instead.

I've got extra tests left over 🤣...

The symptoms you described happen to me almost every single month. My back aches right before my period starts, and don't even get me started on my breasts swelling up. When I was actually pregnant, I kept feeling like it was just my period coming, but it wasn't. All that stuff is just hearsay at this point. The only real, reliable sign is a pregnancy test. Once you have that, you know.👍
Got stung by a wasp :( in Health ·
Sounds like you’re dealing with a wasp sting allergy. What you're describing is definitely an allergic reaction..
I actually got stung once while I was out at Walmart, but I handled it pretty quickly. I just asked the produce guy to slice a red onion in half for me—apparently, putting it on the sting helps draw out the swelling and numbs the area. It worked for me. You probably need to take an antihistamine to deal with the reaction, something like Benadryl or Claritin.
It might be a good idea to take a day off work until this clears up.☕
Co-pays and out-of-pocket costs in Health ·

The max $1000 at the hospital?
I just finished up in neurology... I paid so many co-pays my head was spinning, but honestly, it still felt cheaper than paying for supplemental insurance all year long. 🙂
The thing is, you never know when something urgent hits... an accident, a wreck, cancer... and those things can get incredibly expensive.

It’s the maximum $1000 per hospital stay or bill. Usually, that higher amount refers to surgeries where you don't have supplemental coverage—that's when the numbers really jump.
Personally, I think it's better to just get the supplemental plan and have peace of mind.☕
Maria Hayes said:Look, please don't start judging me right now. Honestly, I just don't have the energy for it. Just wait until things settle down, then you can come at me all you want. My dad is still in the hospital. I'm just waiting on my mom to get here so we can finally hear what the doctors are saying about his diagnosis. It looks like things are pretty critical.😢

The main thing right now is just making sure Dad is safe. I’ll help out as much as I possibly can from here. Let's just hope everything turns out okay.🙂

Susan Rodriguez72 said:Give me a break. 😠
So basically, within a single month, they can start charging $167 copays at a primary care office (which is almost impossible in practice, but theoretically...)

From what I understand, if you're at the hospital, it’s all based on the bill—if you don't have supplemental insurance, you'll be paying up to $1000% of the hospital service fees. That applies to surgeries too. It sucks, but that's just how it works.
With a doctor, you might end up paying $10 or $5.00 per visit, or $3.50 per prescription at the pharmacy when you pick up meds without supplemental coverage—and that includes those specialized prescriptions that really shouldn't have a cost attached to them.

Susan Rodriguez72 said:Is there still a cap $10 on co-pays at the doctor's office under this new healthcare reform?

No, that's gone. They bumped the limits way up now.😢😲
