Hang in there. It’s going to be okay.🙂
The first sip is always a disaster. I tend to stick to my own little mantra, though: it isn't over until I say it's over.🙂
Mom is going to be okay. She has to be.😉

🙂

I know, I know—don't worry, I haven't lost hope yet. We brought her the TV today, and she perked up immediately since she can finally watch Carolija again. 😁

The diagnosis is multiple myeloma. It’s already spread to her pelvis, spine, and ribs. 😢

The biopsy results should be back tomorrow. Once they have those, we'll finally have a more precise diagnosis.

Hang in there, everyone.

15 men who smoked more than five joints a day over a period exceeding ten years.

Well, I'm not quite sure who possesses the sheer madness required to smoke five joints every single day for a decade, so this study doesn't carry much weight in my eyes...
Thank you all for the kind words of support.
Yesterday I was still reeling from the shock, but today I feel a bit more composed. I'm frightened because she has become immobile due to the illness, and they can't extract the bone core from her spine—they have to go through the sternum instead. Apparently, that's a very bad sign. The doctors aren't optimistic since the disease has progressed, but we're still holding onto hope for the best.
Best of luck to everyone fighting these terrible, awful diseases.
My mother was diagnosed today with bone cancer or leukemia. It’s bad. She’s lost a significant amount of weight, she can barely move, and she’s generally lost all hope and spirit.
She spent two months being shuffled from one specialist to another, only to finally receive a definitive diagnosis today. I am in shock. It’s difficult, and I honestly don't know if she's going to make it.
I spent the day at the hospital brushing her hair, tidying her up a bit, and making her some sandwiches. She managed to finish about half a yogurt.
Tomorrow she undergoes a bone marrow biopsy. Once they confirm the exact type of cancer, therapy will begin.
Does anyone here have any experience with this? Is there a chance my mom will be okay?

Smokin' Aces

It kicks off perfectly—just a bunch of hitmen chasing the same target, all trying to outdo one another to see who can pull the trigger first. It’s got great momentum at first, but then it shifts gears into this heavy drama and ends on a totally emo note. 😕

I honestly couldn't tell by the end if this was supposed to be a fun action comedy or a serious drama with a sudden, depressing twist. 😕

P.S. Johnny Depp is the best!

either you have absolutely no sense of humor at all, or you're just salty because someone insulted women as critics, so now you're intentionally trashing the film.

The movie is great—a true parody (unless maybe you think Dark Horse is the pinnacle of parody).

It isn't just cheap action; it’s a mockery of those exact types of movies.

But then again, you can't argue with taste, so....

Come on, what are you, twelve? 🙄
I already mentioned earlier that I thought the movie was bad.

No, not Dark Horse. It's absolute garbage.

Exactly. Just as I clearly stated my dislike for it, and you all responded by throwing insults. 😉

Look, we all know what a parody actually is. Hot Fuzz isn't really a parody; it’s more of a cheap gag or just a standard comedy.

I hear what you're all saying, I really do, but they just didn't manage to turn their concept into a high-quality film.
Charles Bukowski wrote a book called Sund where he mocks American clichés, and even though readers knew exactly what he was doing while they read it—the actual critiques were pretty weak.
My point is—just because they had an intention doesn't mean they actually pulled it off.

To them, a masterpiece is defined solely by how attractive the cast is.
I recall one "critic" (likely the only one left on Earth) in an American paper who trashed "The Godfather" while giving a perfect score to some melodrama starring Di Caprio 🤣

Aha. We’ve reached the stage where you can't find ways to praise your own cinematic tastes, so you resort to chauvinistic tropes and insults.
Has anyone ever told you that doing this just makes you look pathetic?😉

Hot Fuzz is a mediocre film consisting entirely of hollow jokes and mindless humor. Everything is predictable. Therefore, the way they market it—as a comedy—already fails.
The plot is unconvincing and dull. The protagonist is a cop who is perfect by every possible standard (where else does that exist besides movies? It's a tired cliché) and then he gets transferred to a tiny town where everything is perfectly peaceful and orderly (more clichés, please), while behind the scenes, the whole village has actually gone insane. (???) Come on. 🤣 It couldn't be less imaginative if it tried.

It was all shot in completely uninteresting locations. You see nothing new in the film. It isn't educational in any conceivable way, and all you get from it is an hour and a half of wasted life that you could have used SO much better elsewhere.

And yet, you still claim women don't understand cinema. I have written reviews for film scores and motion pictures, which alone puts me ahead of you. Be careful about acting superior next time.

Jerk.

Amy Richardson3 said:This movie is legit—a total breath of fresh air compared to the usual trash we get from Hollywood. I caught the premiere (they had it running in two theaters at once) and the crowd was absolutely loving it. Honestly, I haven't laughed that hard in ages, and let’s be real—I almost never bother going to the cinema for an American production.
The visuals are gorgeous, the camerawork is tight, the soundtrack hits the spot, and the characters actually feel like real people. The acting is top-tier and the plot actually makes sense for once. Definitely worth a watch. Some people might not get it, but hey, that's just taste.

I was in Theater 11.😁

Larry Martin11 said:...man 😵 just aimless wandering of the worst kind—the script is incredibly clunky (those dialogues? seriously? they try to lean on profanity to make everything feel "gritty" and authentic, but it just feels forced and hollow) and the acting is just mediocre. Honestly, I'm totally disappointed...

I can't say I agree with you regarding the profanity. 🙂
They captured how people actually talk in those circles perfectly. People really do swear that much; if they had cut any of it out, it would have felt completely fake.
As for the humor... I found it hilarious. For the same reason. I was actually surprised by how much they 😁 knew about certain specifics.

The movie was excellent, in my opinion. 👍

The movie is great right up until those final five minutes, which completely ruin the experience.

Did they keep the original voice cast? I'm specifically wondering about Antonia and Puss. 😍

Are you kidding me? Since when did I volunteer to be a moderator? 🙂
You’ve only just stepped into the moderator role and you're already acting arrogant. Does that power trip just come with the job description? 🤣

Apparently, you need at least five moderators to vote for you and give you the highest rating. Or so I've heard.
Maybe start by sucking up to them and getting close. 😉
