nah nah, it's in Winterthur—I'm just an expat here, you know...

The Hangover Part II in Movies ·
Look, I’m not saying the sequel is a complete disaster, but let's be real—it just can't touch the first one. It’s mostly because the original felt so fresh, whereas the second one was… well, pretty predictable. That whole montage during the credits in the first movie? Absolute genius. In the sequel? Not so much.

Honestly, the first movie was one of the few comedies I actually enjoyed—and I usually can't stand the genre. What I loved about it was how they didn't feel the need to force a joke into every single frame at the expense of the actual story, which is what most comedies do. The sequel follows that same logic, though.
Bottom line: I'd give the first one a solid 8.5/10, but the sequel is sitting at a weak 5.5/10 for me.

Same here.

Tried watching it without subs... heh, that Irish accent is way too thick for me to follow.
Then I tried with English subtitles, but since it was actually translated into English rather than just transcribing the dialogue, it was super confusing—so I gave up on that too.

Hopefully, someone will whip up some decent American English subtitles soon...

So, who's actually leading the pack here, huh?
1.MSC 😁
Jean Michel Jarre in Music ·
The smaller version has been sitting on the shelves at Best Buy for a while now... honestly, besides that weird design that might actually look cool in your living room, I don't think the device has much else going for it.
obviously, Jean Michel Jarre's signature style is front and center. basically bzze.

edit: just realized the smaller one is the one on the left in the photo behind Jean...

So I finally sat down and watched the original...
It’s definitely aged poorly—like, really poorly. No matter how much I dig Dustin, he just can't carry those weirdly forced plot points or the super rushed, nonsensical dialogue...
Honestly, the movie just didn't do anything for me. Maybe if I'd seen it back when it first dropped it would've hit harder, but now? Just meh...

Not planning on checking out the remake.
What's the point of tribute bands? in Music ·
I’m pretty much totally on board with what the OP said—honestly, cover bands are just pointless... personally, I can't stand covers at all...
I actually caught Physical Graffiti recently. They were alright, tickets were dirt cheap, but even though I'm a huge Led Zeppelin fan, I just couldn't get into it.
To be real, it's not just that covers are useless, but this whole thing where they try to act and look like the "originals" is just absurd—I'd go as far as calling it idiotic.
There was an "Abba Mania" show around town lately. Every time I saw those four morons on the promo poster, I just had to facepalm...

Someone brought up APFSa. I was just talking about that concert with my buddy who is a Pink Floyd fan through and through. My take was that if Pink Floyd fans go to a show, there's room for improvisation and they'll get a standing ovation. But with APFSa, they have to play everything perfectly and stay strictly true to the original just to avoid getting booed off stage.
My buddy went anyway, and when I asked him how it was after the show, he just gave me a hand gesture, a "fuck" grimace, and said, "Nah, it just wasn't it"...

Anyway, that's just my take on things, and I totally get why some people don't mind seeing a band cover someone else... everyone's got different tastes...

Don't forget about that new album either—it's coming. If you're already a fan, there are some seriously killer tracks in there. They played a few sneak peeks at their June show before the release, and man, everything sounded incredible. Even the new stuff just felt right immediately—especially during round and round, the whole crowd was jumping and singing along...

btw, my T-shirt finally showed up the other day... I'm Happy.

Man, I totally missed out two years ago—found out about the show way too late and tickets were already gone.
But this year, I actually caught wind of it in time 🙂

The show was absolute fire. The venue in Chicago was packed to the gills—around 2,000 people—and the sightlines and sound were spot on. The vibe was a little meh at first (thanks to a pretty weak opening act), but as the night went on, things just kept building until it turned into total madness by the end.
The guys are constantly vibing with the crowd, tossing drumsticks and sticks into the pit, and Brad even jumped right into the audience... people were seriously giving it their all. Total standing ovation.

Setlist

Even though the clips I grabbed don't even come close to capturing how insane the energy actually felt—visually or audio-wise:

here without you - loser - Away fra The Sun - When i m goniti

it's not my time

Kryptonite
way to go Vettel—killer fight those last few laps too—and if you listen to the announcers on ESPN, he was doing it without any functional hybrid boost.

Heidfeld put in a massive shift as well 👍

But hey, he doesn't have to do anything—he just says it himself.

It feels like you're just not getting it... I don't like the name, period. No amount of Googling their backstory is gonna change how I feel about it. Get it now?

Would you say using the late Luke Ritza's name for some rock band is okay too? Think about it from the perspective of a family whose name is being used so shamelessly.
And honestly, hearing Nancy Reed33 explain it away as a "deliberate provocation because of the excess in the lives we lead"—that would be embarrassing if I were them. It's always those people who claim to "understand" that encourage this whole "no holds barred" attitude where nobody gets respected...

It's pretty pathetic when a band needs to resort to stuff like that.

Look, if you can't handle people having different opinions than yours—just stay in your room and enjoy your own space instead of starting drama on every single forum out there.☕

Carol Martinez said:Look, the band's name isn't exactly "Thank God Margaret is dead, we're thrilled about it"—so maybe try a quick Google search on why they chose it before you start bitching for no reason.

I don't even need to Google this—I clearly wrote "if." So, if we're talking about Margaret from EKV, it doesn't matter whether people adore her, love her, hate her, or can't stand her. The bottom line is they're just using her name to grab attention because they can't pull it off with their own music. That’s the only part that's actually pathetic. Who she was as a person doesn't change a single thing about that.
I'm not really feeling that name—just stating my piece without getting all worked up about it.
Margaret is dead in Music ·
If they’re actually talking about Maggie, then the name isn't even shocking—it's just plain stupid... and honestly, what they’re playing can't be called music by any stretch of the imagination. No, really. But hey, the OP is giving them a thumbs up. I guess if someone puts it together, there'll always be an audience somewhere.

I clicked the link and now they have one more view... my view. This is gonna haunt me...

In one word: masterpiece.

Too bad we didn't get the version of Wagner we were hoping for—but he still pulls it off here... man, when he goes all out during that explosion near the end and does what any father should do in that spot? I was straight up tearing up...

Yeah, could be an interesting watch. It’s actually got a solid rating—like a 7.9 on IMDb—and I’ve even got it on my hard drive, but honestly, while I was fixing up some subtitles, I noticed it’s all handheld camera work... kind of lost the vibe for it. I’m pretty burnt out on those types of movies—you know? Maybe one day though...
did they totally tank... hmm, how do I even put this.
I’ve always had a soft spot for parodies that poke fun at tropes while actually having their own original scripts—takes a certain level of talent. For me, "Top Secret" is basically the gold standard.

On the flip side, those cheap parodies that just rip off one specific blockbuster? Total trash—definitely not worth your time. You’ve got these B-list wannabe directors trying to cash in on massive hits right after they drop, basically slapping a parody label on them to hide the fact that they can't write anything original. Honestly, the only thing they're successfully mocking is themselves and their own lack of creativity.
I don't touch those kinds of "parodies" with a ten-foot pole.
From +5 down to -2 in just 10 minutes... absolute world-class meltdown...

It’s unreal. One second you’re feeling creative, then boom—total loss of confidence hits, nerves kick in, and suddenly this winning squad turns into a bunch of losers.

Come on guys, pull it together—get back out there and crush Iceland, who isn't even a threat to an American team playing this scattered...

Whatever, I still think we walk away with a +3 win, but man, why do they have to mess with our heads like this?

Man, I’ve been feeling this damn rib pain all day—sort of right under my left arm near my heart—and it’s making me feel super nauseous and lightheaded... just saw the news and apparently three people died and over 20 are in the hospital over in Chicago.
Honestly, I'm kinda freaking out.
