rustycrane0 said:I want to talk about my experience with JPMorgan Chase (formerly Wells Fargo) Before Bank of America was taken over by Russian owners, I actually liked how they handled things and treated their customers. Since the ownership changed to JPMorgan Chase, my opinion has totally tanked. I’m beyond frustrated now, and I'm switching banks the second my current loan expires—which, thank God, is happening soon. The only reason I signed up with JPMorgan Chase (Wells Fargo) was for an auto loan. The rates were better than anywhere else, and they even gave me a slight discount if I moved my direct deposit over, so I did. The loan was set in USD with a fixed interest rate, and payments were always due on the 15th of the month. But after the takeover, JPMorgan Chase arbitrarily moved my payment date to the 1st. When I asked them to move it back to the 15th like it was before? They said they couldn't do it. Total nonsense. My paycheck hits around the 10th, so because of this change, I’ve been getting hit with extra interest charges. Since my loan payment is automatically pulled from my salary, I've had to manually pay off those little gaps myself. And then there are the messages. They started blowing up my phone with texts at all hours—even in the middle of the night—harassing me about "unpaid debts." To make matters worse, they’ve already hiked my monthly payment twice. For a loan that is supposedly in USD with a FIXED rate?!?!?! How does that even work? Now, they're constantly sending certified letters to my house. I have to go pick them up just to find out more nonsense about "outstanding balances." It’s a constant cycle: endless texts at random times of the day and night, certified mail piling up, and having to manually cover the difference at the branch... And yet, they still pull the regular installments straight from my paycheck.... I AM FED UP WITH THIS BANK AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE…..😠😠😠😠 Honestly? I think things are only going to get worse….😠😠👎👎👎
Everything else sounds pretty standard, but this part? I can't stomach it. Did you even ask them for an explanation? What did they say? And if you didn't, why the hell wouldn't you?
Alright, look, aside from the fact that gold just took a massive dump, can someone who actually knows what they're talking about explain this whole mess like I'm five? 🙂
Like, give me some actual logic, such as "it's dropping because of X" or "I think it might bounce back due to Y and Z."
Please, I'm genuinely trying to keep up here, but I have zero clue what all this insider jargon you guys are throwing around even means. 😢
Wait, hold up—are you actually talking about housing savings here? As far as I know (and I’m pretty sure I know my stuff), a housing fund is the only type of child's savings account where you don't need to get the green light from NASA first. 😕
Man, the way you break this stuff down is killer. I just wish I actually understood the fundamentals myself instead of basically being treated like a toddler by my financial advisors. They just hover over me like, "hey, buy this now" or "nope, don't touch anything yet." 😬
Is it necessary? Honestly, who cares? Why would we even need it? The only thing that actually matters is protecting the kind of love that isn't measured in gold. 😁
I don't even know where to start with this mess. It’s like nobody’s actually looking at the numbers anymore, just throwing darts at a board and hoping for the best. I was sitting there at the diner this morning, staring at my coffee, thinking about how much easier life would be if people just used some common sense for once. Instead, we get these half-baked ideas being pushed as gospel. Honestly, it’s exhausting. Everyone’s shouting, but nobody’s listening. Just more noise in an already loud world. kaže: Alright, we’re sitting here at 1709. If things actually start behaving for once, we might just break past 1720.
It’s probably gonna be more expensive, not cheaper... (seriously, can we all just take a second to actually read the last five or six pages of this thread?)"
I read through it, but honestly? I have no clue what's going on. All these spikes, the random abbreviations, the endless stream of numbers... it's just total gibberish to me.😁
My bad, I’m being a bit slow on the uptake here.
I’m saying "cheaper" because look, if we're working under the assumption that we've hit the peak and things are about to tank, the logic is pretty simple: you sell now, then wait to buy back in at a discount later—especially once Goldman Sachs starts making their move.
It’s not even a complicated situation, really. His whole vibe is just "sell everything right now and try to buy back in later" once (according to the GOP) the market dips. But honestly? I don't see a crash happening—at least not deep enough to make those trades actually worth the hassle. I'd much rather just hold onto what we have. Plus, I don't trust a word those analysts say (especially those GOP types), though I'm definitely not an expert enough to explain exactly why their logic feels so off. Maybe I just can't stand them. 😁
So I’m actually going back and forth with my husband about this news right now. His big theory? Sell everything immediately and just wait to buy back in when the price drops. Personally? I’m thinking we just hold onto what we’ve got, because I honestly don't see that dip happening.
I’m such an idiot, I was rushing around doing ten other things at once and totally botched this. 😁
What I meant to say was—yeah, yeah, I completely misread how the question was phrased, so my answer was just straight-up wrong. You're right, you can't just freeze part of an account for a specific amount and leave the rest up in the air. I totally misinterpreted the prompt. My bad. 😁
Look, I’m not even questioning whether they can technically pull it off or whatever. My point is about the fact that they aren't actually charging for those freezes. It’s pretty simple—you’re either locked out of your funds or you aren't. That's not what I was getting at.
Brian Morris7 said:Can I ask a quick question here? Why isn't FIFA able to just freeze only the specific amount owed—you know, the exact debt amount—in cases where someone actually has a much larger balance sitting in their account than what they owe? Isn't it technically unconstitutional to strip someone of the ability to manage their own assets when those funds aren't even part of the seizure? Look, I get it—there’s definitely blame to be placed on the individual who didn't settle their obligations on time—but we all know how things work in America. It is entirely possible that you weren't even notified about your debts in a timely manner, or perhaps a final judgment hasn't even been handed down yet, or maybe you've already filed a legal appeal within the required timeframe (if we're going to believe some of the personal stories being shared on this and other threads).
They totally could, they just choose not to. And yeah, you're right about it being unconstitutional.
I think the biggest headache is how FIFA just sits on their hands. You get hit with an account freeze and everything just grinds to a halt. Honestly, thank god they have that "...just let them $150 and call it a day" option. Life would be a hell of a lot easier if they cleared those amounts the second the freeze hits. Instead, they leave people stuck in limbo for weeks—hell, months—over some absolutely pathetic amount of money, even when there’s ten times that much sitting right there in the account. This whole lack of follow-through is just straight-up garbage.

The whole point of my post wasn't about those messy border disputes or whatever; I just grabbed a current, well-known issue as a quick way to illustrate my point. Is that really such a problem?
Hey there. 🙂
Yeah, it’s a massive problem. On the Chicago Cubs boards, we have zero tolerance for any kind of political posting, especially when it's this sensitive and provocative. Honestly, if I hadn't been there to moderate it, I'd probably just shut this entire thread down right now. I'm done playing judge and jury.
Jeremy Davis7 said:I’m asking the supermoderators—since you guys seem to be so busy hanging around here anyway—to either lock this thread or just leave it alone and let people talk.
First you selectively censor posts, then you lock the whole thing down, then you unlock it again... then you delete some more stuff... it's a mess.
What's your deal? What are you actually trying to achieve?
If you think this topic is too sensitive, just turn the key and walk away, class dismissed. (Look, I won't give you any grief; if my kid ever asked me, "Dad, why is Mom crying and moaning in her sleep?", I'd just shut the conversation down and sweep it under the rug myself.)
You have the authority.
I guess that's why you insist on using that "super" suffix in your title; whatever.
Later.
PS. Richard Perez3, I am incredibly sorry... I had no idea that was your husband! Good grief. Anyone who actually "knows" me on this forum knows I'm an open and shut homophobe. I honestly thought I was talking to a lady, and besides, it was just some poetic figure...🙂
😉
Doesn't bother us at all. We love it here. We aren't the ones deleting anything.
