These films aren't actually bad. My only grievance is that they lean far too heavily on the James Bond formula. That said, if you're looking for guaranteed entertainment and high-octane action, you'll find it here. You just have to temporarily switch off your brain during the more unrealistic sequences, and it remains a solid experience. I am certainly looking forward to its release.
A series from my childhood... truly one of the finest pieces of television ever made. I had completely lost touch with it. What incredible characters 🙏.
As a massive devotee of The Sopranos, I have a sinking feeling about this movie. It seems to me that these days, nothing of actual substance gets produced outside of prestige television series.

Personally, I would have preferred a direct narrative continuation—something where Mark Antony evolves into a formidable leader tasked with steering the family through chaos. Imagine a scenario where they are ambushed at a local diner and caught in a hail of gunfire; six months later, he awakens from a coma to realize his father is gone and his mother is incapacitated, forcing him to undergo a complete transformation. He would step up and seize control of everything, even in the face of internal dissent from the rest of the crew.
Movies designed for toddlers. An underwater world where characters ride on seahorses. They might have been better off filming tiny flying bears instead. 🤦
Stargate. I simply hold fond memories of that film. The core concept is brilliant, though I believe the execution could have been handled with much greater sophistication.
The concept for the film holds potential, particularly with the premise of returning to reclaim buried gold, yet the execution feels somewhat underdeveloped and lacks a cohesive direction.
In my estimation, the second installment remains superior. I find the core concept quite compelling. I attempted to sit through the third one, but I turned it off halfway through.
American cinema often lacks even a shred of decency. You have the President of the United States running around in jorts while firing a rocket launcher, or a little girl waving a flag in front of fighter jets to stop a bombing run. 🙂
That being said, the movie isn't a complete waste of time, primarily because it’s entertaining, and sometimes that is the most vital requirement for a film. It actually lands a few solid jokes that managed to get a laugh out of me. If you are the type of person who craves unrestrained action without wanting to engage your brain too much, you will likely enjoy it.
I haven’t sat down to watch it yet, but it seems clear they are attempting to mold Ethan Hunt into a new James Bond, complete with even more high-tech gadgets, and frankly, it’s irritating. My preference would be for a film—perhaps even within the James Bond franchise itself—where the agent executes his mission through calculated moves, mystery, and elegance rather than sheer noise. I want a story built on a rock-solid foundation, where the plot takes center stage instead of prioritizing mindless explosions and senseless action sequences.
I honestly have no idea how they plan to top that sequence at the end of the first film where the ice collapses and wipes out the entire underwater base.
The first installment was catastrophically unrealistic, so I am certainly not expecting anything better from the sequel. It will likely just be a continuation of endless, mindless action beats. When I recall the scene where he’s practically pulverizing the asphalt with his bare feet in Paris, or those massive sub-glacial bases and those ridiculous drilling vehicles...🙂🙂

I find the concept of the setting being rooted in the past quite compelling.
This is an exceptionally solid film when compared to the endless stream of garbage comedies being pushed on us lately. It’s genuinely entertaining and easy to watch; it manages to land its laughs, and frankly, that’s all that matters. Does it truly matter who provides the voice acting? In my view, the film was excellent.
