Seagate hard drive issues in Desktops ·
I've been using a 2TB Western Digital Green for three years now. It works perfectly fine as a storage drive, and honestly, I don't even notice the speed difference for what I do.

I can't shake the feeling that this is just a troll post.

My motherboard is absolute garbage right now, so I’m trying to figure out what kind of CPU and GPU combo wouldn't be a total waste of time to slap onto it.

Current setup

Dell n68 vgs3 ucc
amd x4 955
radeon 6770
4gb ram
550w OCz fatality

If you're working with a tight budget, just swap out the graphics card.

Overheating causing stuttering in Desktops ·
Try underclocking your CPU and see how it performs while gaming.

If the cooler base isn't making direct contact with the CPU, no amount of thermal paste is going to save you.

Patrick Diaz49 said:I get it, that board is total junk even for a 95W CPU. But still, I don't think it's worth even 250-$100 😉

You're being way too generous with used trash

Patrick Diaz49 said:If it were $833, I'd pull the trigger on that immediately without a second thought.😁

I would have checked the price on $1000 first...

Plus, you'll need to pick up a new AM3+ motherboard, since this one only has a 4+1 phase design and isn't really built to handle that CPU.

Well, $833 it really comes down to whether the parts are still under warranty and what kind of power supply you're working with.

You really don't need anything better than this.

The HAF X has better airflow and stays quieter with its four fans.

I’d grab this at that price point.

I'd go with the Cooler Master Hyper series.
Intel vs AMD in Desktops ·
Intel
i5-4460 plus motherboard equals $633
AMD
FX-8300 plus motherboard and cooler equals $632
What do you guys think? 😵 Is AMD still the better bet for gaming?
PSU won't boot the motherboard!!!? in Desktops ·
Try testing that processor on another 775 motherboard just to be 100% certain the issue isn't with the CPU itself.

Here is the list of compatible processors for this board. My advice would be to install one of the CPUs supported by the initial 0107 BIOS version first, then check if it boots up.

Brian Campbell36 said:So why isn't the base frequency 850 MHz instead of 950 MHz, reaching up to 1070 MHz in boost mode compared to the "standard" one? And why would I even bother to overclock when a brand new 🤔
is right there?
I'll be overclocking this card to 1250 MHz if it'll let me, pushing it as far as possible.☕

Prophets... just throwing money down the drain.🙏

Everyone seems to have nothing but praise for this GPU; it looks like Green Team bias is running the show here regarding graphics cards.

"Just to follow up on this EVGA 280 Wf3, it's back in the ED for 'only' $563! It's an excellent card with one of the best coolers out there; it hits a respectable 1070MHz in boost, and with a little overclock, it can actually match the performance of the 280X models! (+3GB VRAM + 3-year warranty)🙂 Compared to this, you don't need to look at any massively overpriced gtx 960 for $200! lp"

"Is there anything better for that kind of cash? After all, you don't just drop $667 on a graphics card every day."
There is, but do you really think anyone would recommend those instead?
We haven't all been living under a rock, but since you're new here, I'll let your nonsense slide this once.

I listened to the advice on the forums, but specifically on forum.bug where people actually value opinions. Here, it feels like everyone is just tearing things down—as long as half of you have what you call "just" killer cards, which are actually just the cheapest models in the lineup.🤦

Since you're new, I'll forgive you for not realizing I've been on this forum since 2007. Honestly, how pathetic.🤦
