Heavy Metal lyrics in Music · Aug 4, 2003

I've been looking through some Heavy Metal lyrics lately, and honestly, they really missed the mark for me. It’s all just constant nonsense about killing, violating souls, and other mindless tropes. Even if I find myself actually liking a specific track within the genre, I truly couldn't care less about the subject matter being discussed. I'd much rather just lose myself in the sound, provided the music itself is actually good.

Have you ever actually hated anyone? Has there ever been a moment where your feelings for someone just flipped from positive to negative overnight? Did you genuinely care about them before that happened?

I have never harbored hatred toward anyone in my life. My feelings for people don't just flip from positive to negative in an instant because for me to feel any kind of affinity toward someone, they have to earn it through our interactions as I get to know them and understand their core values. I simply can't develop an affection for someone out of thin air, and if I truly love or care about a person, I find it impossible to turn that into hate.

I find myself agreeing with that sentiment. Illegal, I'm curious how you managed to draw such a drastic connection between them? 😕 It’s hard to imagine someone genuinely hating what they actually love, unless that "love" is nothing more than a calculated move based on self-interest. Hate is also a much heavier, more complex concept than people give it credit for. Personally, I don't harbor any hatred toward anyone, though there are certainly plenty of people I simply don't care for.
Love is such a profound and powerful thing, and it isn't something everyone has experienced or even understands. But those who really do grasp what love is—no matter who or what it's directed toward—know instinctively that it exists in a completely different universe than something negative like hate.
