The Flaming Lips in Music ·
The Flaming Lips i The Flaming Lips are absolute masterpieces... incredibly heavy late-spring and early-summer albums... just genius guitars, melodies, psychedelia... fast, breezy... perfect for riding a bike through the sun, wind, and air... kept me hooked for several summers... woah.

The Flaming Lips... that was the weirdest record for me back then.. as a crusty Nirvana-Big Black-Joy Division listener.. I put on this green disc after hearing them in a half-dream, and when all that stuff starts whistling, ping, fiew, bells, scraping.. and those guitars.. distorted to the max... incredible onomatopoeic orchestration.. or whatever! It’s all just whistling, buzzing, and melodic at once, and somehow warm.. with those sudden guitar outbursts.. it was a total culture shock. 👍
Only later did I pick up those two albums mentioned above, and man, did I enjoy them... and then BOOM, not massive, but The Flaming Lips... what even is that.. where did the energy go.. no guitars.. no breeze.. nothing.. damn... I didn't even want to buy it until the concert.. at the show they were phenomenal and I finally realized the substance of The Flaming Lips, so I bought it immediately. Some of the songs up there are really expensive... but live, they are ten times better.
The last one is pretty much just nice pop...
but.. check out The Flaming Lips and the rest... you will be blown away... and you should be.

So, I've got this Nirvana shirt on today with the yellow smiley face.. 🙂 at work..

Been listening to Nirvana, specifically Nevermind... but the real Nevermind. Not the version that blew up on MTV, but how it actually sounded before "grunge" was even a thing... man, what a shock... what an album. You have no idea how that hit back then. Pure punk rock... in that context... totally refreshing... melodic like the Pixies, but angrier, more rebellious.. yeah. Early Nirvana had bits of TAD and Screaming Trees and punk mixed in.. everything just condensed and exploded in Nevermind.. that's it.. it was just that.

Seattle '94 sucked big time👎 🙂

Besides, it’s widely thought that Mahatma Gandhi was more of a follower of Mahavira than he was of the Bible... 😉

Siddhartha Gautama and Mahavira

Of course! They didn't exactly follow the Bible or the Bible... at least Siddhartha Gautama didn't. 😉 In fact, I don't think the Bible even existed back then 😁 😁

(Man... I miss good BBQ...)

Soy is supposedly good for women since it's packed with estrogen-like stuff, but for guys... who knows.😁

Yeah, definitely a course, and definitely some hands-on corrections!
Working out under the motto "your body will just fix itself" is a disaster waiting to happen. The body either follows the path of least resistance or creates massive tension in all the wrong places. Basically, you end up with way too much tightness or way too much slouching. The goal is balance.
Yoga is delicate. Without individual adjustments, you aren't really making progress... sure, you'll still build energy, but nowhere near your full potential, and you'll never master certain basics. I know people who've been practicing yoga for five years plus, and they still get the fundamental poses completely wrong. They were following instructors who just did the flow themselves while the students watched without any correction. Their bodies learned those bad habits... then again, I've seen beginners nail a pose perfectly after just one single adjustment. Totally blew my mind when I saw that for the first time.

what are you trying to say? 😕 😁 😁

Mahatma Gandhi's take on the Bible was anything but conventional

He writes quite eloquently about Nonviolence and the Bible here—which is tricky. But he stays silent on that passage in the Bible where the caste system is framed as divinely ordained—"even the lower castes, women, everyone must live according to their dharma within their caste and fulfill their duty, and through that they will come to me... Krishna"... It’s not just Westerners who might view the Bible with a more critical eye; even Americans who have opened their eyes feel that way, though doing so means going against the grain of the entire society.

He’s against abortion, against same-sex marriage, and don't even get me started on the legalization of soft drugs.

Is that me? 😁 I mean, I checked almost every box there. 😉 😁
(I had religion class back in preschool... in Washington, D.C.... yeah, right...🙂)

Still, I don't actually know anyone who voted for the Republican Party... if they did, things wouldn't turn out like this 🙂...🙂 🙂 🙂

It just goes without saying that you don't vote for the Republican Party...

Standard refresh rate is 85 Hz... maybe 75 Hz minimum.
But honestly, you need to step away from the computer for at least a week... and don't spend more than 8 hours a day in front of a screen, even with breaks. Especially at night. Your eyes need a break. Last semester, I was pulling over 12-hour shifts in front of my PC and my vision took a serious hit 🙄
