Sure, they’re two opposite poles, but it’s not like one is good and the other is bad. Both can have positive or negative effects.

Each phase hits different energies within us. A full moon phase... it taps into the most subtle ones.
It moves from the basic energies up to the finest.

So why wouldn't they write it then? 🙂

Patrick Chase2 said:I could go on about the phases of the moon... but I’d rather just quote what Snake said in the last issue:

That line gets me thinking... how wise is it really to write about symbols of power when we're trying to call them down?
Power is just power... it isn't good or evil. It's just potent.
We all know what happens when kids play with fire. Just because someone gets burned doesn't mean we stop using fire... but still, burns aren't exactly fun.

writing about symbols! if you're mentally stable, nothing can touch you.

Found a killer MP3 on www.sonicyouth.com

checking in from a Motel 6

man, just woke up
those little eyes... 👍
it’s a total anthem for singing along!

looks like those losers on tour still aren't getting any closer than Germany🙄

Regarding these few MP3s I grabbed from the site—the latest ones, just much better... nothing really landed. I know the quality is solid, and it sounds great when I actually sit down with it, but I can rarely find the motivation to listen. It's like this weird mental block. It’s just too much "sighing" and slow... maybe a bit too sad.

This one is slow, the quietest of the bunch, but it sings "you don't have to be so sad" 🙂

Hm, the last one feels strange.

and now I get it. Merging physical Nature with the Spiritual World in that same way I do... I didn't realize there were still others out there 😁 😁 though I don't really need rituals 🙂 just immersing myself is enough~~~~~.................

I'm curious how you all interpret the influence of the moon phases on human behavior and energy... are we on the same page there!?

yeah, at least they're pretending to 🙂

not 🙂 Witches are just mixing Shadow with Mother Earth, but what actually comes of it?
Is This Actually Worth It? in Spirituality ·
hm, let me try to get some thoughts down while I'm feeling this exhausted...

I'm with Gen, really. Once we hit that state James Cruz6 was talking about—that's when enlightenment happens. Though I suspect James Cruz6 already knows that.
But it’s not just about the original post. The person who wrote it from the US... it felt pretty narcissistic. Hidden narcissism, too. And where else would that hide if not in how they relate to someone else?
It always goes down that way.

The whole vibe is basically "I'm no good for you," but it keeps coming up over and over.
Me, I have, I feel, me outside, me inside, me to you, my love, I, my being.
And so on, many more times.
It isn't hard to see the article is just confused. It starts with a "why don't we..." question, and builds all these assumptions on top of it.
If people are pushing you away, there's nothing you can do. Everyone is driven by their own energy. No matter how much something might be good for them, they don't have to see it that way. If it hurts you too much, you just have to step back. It’s crazy to judge your own worth based on someone who doesn't even notice your love, let alone identify with it that deeply. Once you're actually content and happy—once you love yourself—you stop having such massive expectations of others. The writer clearly has some ego blocks. Otherwise, she'd know that loving others means letting go and being flexible.
I'll just quote this part:

Once we realize it is our own provocative expression, the other person is reacting to, then we can eliminate blame. By taking personal responsibility, there is no blame or shame for having gone through the experience. When WE understand that Our higher Self creates experience in order to grow and lift US into a deeper Understanding, we are set free. Anger is only a form of resistance. Resisting creates a bigger shadow or blind spot; that causes an escalation of the very thing we are resisting. Healing takes place when we recognize the resistance, embrace it and allow it to dissolve.

In her case, the anger is blocked—it shows up as disappointment. Maybe she can't handle the guilt, or maybe it's something else. She's pretending to take "responsibility" for what she's writing, but she isn't actually taking any. It's just an expression resulting from those blocks. You have to look at the whole article through that lens. Huh... wrote too much for this. 🙂

Solaris said:YES, I agree. Get to know your consciousness, your ego, and then your shadow.

You can't just deny or toss the shadow aside. That monster you lock in the basement? It’ll eventually break free and come looking for you. 😉

So, how do you actually get to know that shadow? And what do you do once you do?

How are you all handling it? 😉

Ah, I see this thread is heading toward integration and smoothing out disharmony... definitely moving away from that witchy tension and instability 😉 which is why it lost its edge.

As for the shadow? You deal with it through light, obviously. Active and passive. Reflection. Taking in light from others, from the eternal source of life, from the sun, from your own internal source. Digging through your psyche reveals some pretty uncomfortable truths—things that used to show up as projections onto other people or twisted dreams.
But you don't just find the problems. You find more light too. New fields, new spaces, new energies that actually affirm life. If we only carried things that drained us, we would've been finished long ago. Facing the shadow makes us sensitive... lets us breathe fresh air.

Beethoven thought he was a painter once, too... right before he went blind.
damien said:well, Emerson, Lake & Palmer actually did a cover >image from an exhibit< of Modest Mussorgsky

one of their best pieces, honestly...
just pure magic... 🙂

unless you count a few long weekends and Easter breaks🙂 ]

I mean, seriously, how was he even a painter!?

[dropping by this Sunday for a bit longer 🙂 maybe up to 7 months 😁 😁 😁 👍
damien said:haha... maybe even a Modest Mussorgsky cover by ELP 😁 🙂

Don't act smart by using big words just because you think nobody else gets them. Even if they don't...? Maybe those words don't even matter.
What's that supposed to mean, Mussorgsky and ELP? Seriously...

What, did you fly in from DC for two days or something? Or are you just dreaming every night?

Solaris said:Come wander this path with us... rediscover the wisdom buried deep inside your soul.

problem is, I can't find my soul anywhere...
It feels a bit sketchy to me... that part about being hospitalized and put on meds just because you couldn't sleep and were feeling restless. Once you start talking about pills, the whole cause-and-effect thing gets blurry.

I know this girl who tried some nasty drugs once. She’s a naturally open, vibrant person, but ever since then, she’s been dealing with these non-stop anxiety attacks. Just like that. It makes no sense, because she’s genuinely cheerful and loves life... she was totally blindsided by it.
Of course, they suggested more medication, but she had enough clarity and drive to try going without. She managed to pull through—she says it was a long, grueling process, but... she's a psychologist herself, so she knows how much pills can mess with your brain. I just wanted to point out how much chemicals can trigger, and continue to trigger, bad waves in the psyche.
Speak up!

(not a school for peasants) 😁 😁
Come on, please... explain how psychedelics actually work, both psychologically and physiologically.

If we're talking about drugs, I have to tell you: they destabilize your personality. They suppress and warp—even more than just regular reality—your original impulses. They create this deep sadness in the psyche and just relentlessly drain your energy.

Sure, they might give you a "peak experience," which just fuels the illusion of gaining energy. But the actual loss is massive and far outweighs that, given those effects I mentioned. Plus, it increases your attachment to whatever random things surface from your subconscious without you ever truly understanding your primary impulses.
Bradley Fisher20 said:shadowgardener12... you should probably start by distinguishing psychedelics from standard psych meds. Psychedelics work more on a homeopathic principle of positive feedback loops.

Oh yeah? And how exactly do psychedelics work? 😁 😁
haha Wilhelm Reich and the orgonometer 😁 😁

Jason Johnson4, go ahead and poke the bear... I don't mind one bit! 😉, how’s life treating you? 😁

Look, I haven't dealt with schizophrenia firsthand, but I know my way around the human psyche. I understand what helps balance things out, and what just drags a person down...

Balance is everything here. It's a process that needs to start early. As for the meds? I wouldn't recommend them under any circumstances—not that they help with a complete break from reality. They don't cure those states; they just muffle them. In my experience, I've never seen anyone actually "cured" by a pill. What I *have* seen is people getting hooked, dealing with kidney failure, and hitting a wall where they can't make any real breakthroughs. Sure, a "miracle cure" might happen once in a blue moon, but then nobody really knows why it worked there when it fails everywhere else...

I support anything active that promotes balance—mental harmony, personality integration—things that actually address the root cause.
